Yeom Jang Seon ordered his men to push Dongjoo off from the rooftop but they failed to do that because Myung Taegeum, Dongjoo’s hacker friend came and saved the day with her little drone. Also, I think the reporter Mr. Ma Jaeyeol tricked Mr. Cheon because he was on tv live exposing Mr. Yeom publicly through the big screen tv on top of one of the buildings across the way.
On live Tv the part where Mr. Yeom said, why involve your friends to expose the dandelion files to embarrass me was being played and most certainly the old man was so shocked because he definitely got played.
“You swallowed the two trillion won from the national patriotic fund and you killed your sister, to keep that money…” That part was also being played on live Tv too.
“Who the hell does that to your sister for money?! You killed her!”
“If you gave my money back, I wouldn’t have had to!”
All the stuff that Mr. Yeom said early on that Dongjoo was being recorded and the reporter Ma Jaeyeol was airing it out through his Youtube Channel with the help of Taegeum’s drone.
Yeom Jang Seon was looking so shocked and in disbelief. Mr. Yeom was trying his best to think of something to deal with this situation and while he was doing that Dongjoo showed him his watch. I guess Dongjoo’s watch is very symbolic in many ways and it makes sense because we see that watch in the intro before each episode.
DANDELION FILES OBTAINED EXCLUSIVELY UNCOVERING THE TRUTH ABOUT YEOM JANG SEON
Dongjoo said to Mr. Yeom that the items that the old man burned was just plan A and Ma Jaeyeol TV was plan B. Mr. Yeom didn’t think ahead, he wasn’t smart enough to think ahead to stop plan B. When dealing with important issues it’s always smart to have backup plans just in case things don’t work out.
Dongjoo gave Yeom his intimidating smile and the old man was obviously scared although he didn’t want to admit it so he asked him what he’s really trying to do here and what he’s trying to achieve by doing all this.
Dongjoo said that what Yeom said was basically instigating murder and this will be circulating all over the internet from here on out.
Dongjoo was saying to Mr. Yeom that once people start catching on about who he really is he won’t be able to hold his head up high and act high and mighty like he used to.
Dongjoo said that Mr. Yeom had written off handful of gossipers as fools and idiots. Dongjoo was telling the old man that the gossipers he had written off as fools a long time ago is nothing compared to a video that spreads endlessly that could actually ruin him completely.
Of course Mr. Yeom tried to come up with a come back even though it’s lousy as all hell. Mr. Yeom was saying that he got tricked into blurting out nonsense due to emotional pressure.
Mr. Yeom said that people are more interested in the person that has two trillion won planted into his head more than anything.
Dongjoo was still confident and keeping his cool since he wasn’t afraid of anything anymore. Dongjoo was saying that thanks to Mr. Yeom people are more interested in him who apparently stole the national patriotism fund. The whole world is watching him now thanks to Mr. Yeom.
Dongjoo said that if he disappears or ends up dead the whole world will assume that it was Mr. Yeom’s doing.
The elder called so Mr. Yeom told Mr. Cheon Guho to go and prepare the car while he talks with Dongjoo a little bit more. Yeom Jang Seon was acting as if everything will be fine with him despite all this mess that Dongjoo created. As usual Mr. Yeom was acting as if he was worried about Dongjoo and we all know that’s not true then Dongjoo decided to ask why Mr. Yeom ended up killing his late father Heo Ildo.
Mr. Yeom then asked the younger man if he was trying to go on a second round with him then Dongjoo tossed his camera watch into the burning barrel saying that there will be no cameras and recordings. Dongjoo said he’s asking cus he just wants to know since he was his father and all, nothing more and nothing less.
Dongjoo genuinely wanted to know because Mr. Yeom has a history together with his late father, they go way back so he couldn’t help but to be puzzled about the reason why the old Yeom decided to get rid of President Huh.
Yeom Jang Seon answered Dongjoo’s genuine question. Mr. Yeom was telling Dongjoo that his late father got too cocky when everything that he achieved in Daesan was all because of him and without him he wouldn’t had been able to obtain anything from Daesan.
Mr. Yeom had the master plan and Heo Ildo just followed his orders like a good servant. Heo Ildo was Mr. Yeom’s hands and feet. President Heo obeyed Mr. Yeom very well and he was like a shade to the scorching sun. Mr Yeom said he let Mr. Heo warm up in the sun when it got cold, and even allowed him to sit at the same table as him despite the fact he was the boss and Ildo was the servant. To Mr. Yeom all Ildo was to him was a servant but since Mr. Yeom gave him special treatment he one day started to think that he was his equal.
Mr. Yeom told Dongjoo that the final nail in the coffin was when Ildo told him to step away, leave Daesan for good when Mr. Yeom was the man responsible for Ildo to get the opportunity to become the CEO of Daesan in the first place.
Mr. Yeom blamed Huh Ildo’s death on Dongjoo. According to Yeom, President Huh’s death was because of the dumb comment that he made regarding Yeom Jang Seon leaving/stepping away from Daesan and ultimately, it all started with Dongjoo himself or at least that’s what Mr. Yeom thinks anyway.
Mr. Yeom was saying that if it weren’t for Dongjoo shaking his father up, Ildo would’ve never said such a thing to Mr. Yeom like that. It’s so like Mr. Yeom blaming his actions on others. In the previous episode, Mr. Yeom blamed Dongjoo for his sister’s death and now he is still blaming Dongjoo for his father’s death too. Yeom Jang Seon makes me sick. Honestly, I don’t like majority of the characters in this show except for Dongjoo, his sister Agnes and Taeyun……
Dongjoo was thinking back to the conversation he had with his late father before he passed away when he was asking his father about what else he had going on other than his cost free repentance then Ildo told his son that him finally standing up to Yeom Jang Seon once and for all. Ildo said he decided to finally stand up to Yeom and cutting him off for good. Ildo has never done anything like this before ever since he got caught and gave Yeom his friends names who were on the list.
Dongjoo thought about what his father told him the night before his death and he couldn’t help but to smile but it was a smile of disgust of course and Mr. Yeom was like, why are you smiling?
Dongjoo was smiling the smile of disgust while he looked like he was trying his best to hold down his tears and said, you are right Mr. Yeom, my father died because of me….
Meanwhile, Secretary Gong was talking to Cha Seonwoo on the phone and asking him if he’s eaten yet and the boy said that he’s been steadily gaining weight ever since he moved over to his father’s house.
Seonwoo was looking at his phone just scrolling down and a video caught his eyes and it was the video about Yeom Jang Seon through Ma Jaeyeol Tv. Seonwoo decided to click on it and watch it.
“Who the hell gives up his sister for money, you killed her!” This is the first part Seonwoo saw from that video.
“If you had given me the money, Dongjoo….”
Then Seonwoo realized that Dongjoo was in the video too which made him go WTF?
“Who do you think your sister blames in the afterlife?”
“Me or you, you greedy bastard?” This was another part of the video Seonwoo saw from Ma Jaeyeol’s video and he just didn’t know what to think of it which I could completely understand cus I would be confused too.
The family was having dinner and Seonwoo practically ran over to the dining room to show his father the video.
“No backups, right director Seo?”
“Two Trillion Won from….”
Seonwoo was panicking saying that Dongjoo stole two trillion won and someone killed his sister over it.
“She was no different than a stranger…”
“Who the hell gives up their sister for money?”
“You’re the one who killed her!”
“If you had given the money back, I wouldn’t have had to!”
“Who do you think your sister blames in the afterlife? Me or you, you greedy bastard!!”
“What did you just say?!”
Dongjoo ran over to the hospital to check up on Ilnam so he asked Taeguem who was there guarding him. It’s funny how Dongjoo refers to him as Ilnam now. Dongjoo looks so good in his long coat, he looks like a detective. I can’t help but to accept that Hyungsik is a manly man unlike before…..
According to Taegeum his hacker friend, Ilnam almost didn’t make it. Ilnam’s hospital friend was the one in charge of him and he came out to talk to Dongjoo to tell him what’s going on with him and said that he’s condition is pretty serious at the moment. Dongjoo’s face started looking pale after hearing that news.
Ilnam was so much in pain that he’s groaning, crying and holding it all in. Ilnam’s hospital friend was complaining that he had to deal with Dongjoo that had a gunshot wound and now his friend Ilnam beaten half to death quite literally.
Ilnam’s friend told Dongjoo to just let him go already since his life is hard as it is right now. Dongjoo and Taegeum went into Ilnam’s room to ask him if he’s alright and obviously he didn’t look too good but he still said that he’s doing fine.
Taeguem asked Ilnam if his leg is broken and he kept on saying that he’s fine. Ilnam was telling Dongjoo that Dr. Park was talking nonsense meddling in other peoples business.
Dongjoo told Ilnam to scream if it hurts instead of holding it in. Ilnam encouraged Dongjoo saying that he’ll be alright since he was given a shot to make him feel better. Ilnam looked like a mess by the way and it’s so strange referring to him as Ilnam because I’ve been calling him Mr. Bae or Wonbae this whole time although I knew that his alias was Jang Ilnam.
Dongjoo held Ilnam by the arm to encourage him and to comfort him. Ilnam is a true friend and so is Taegeum. Both Ilnam and Taegeum sacrificed himself for Dongjoo in a way.
Ilnam said that he did see the video that Reporter Ma Jaeyeol uploaded. Dongjoo told Ilnam that he wanted to see Yeom Jang Seon confess his horrific crimes with his own mouth. However, Taegum was concerned for Dongjoo too because the two trillion won he hacked got exposed at the same time. Dongjoo wasn’t surprised about that since he was expecting it.
“Hey Guho, throw this bastard off the roof…”
Lee Cheolyong the elder came over to Yeom Jang Seon’s house to have a talk with him and while he was waiting he was watching the video that Reporter Ma uploaded onto his channel. Mr. Lee’s assistant was telling him that Mr. Yeom will burst through that door any minute now.
Mr. Lee Cheolyoung’s assistant told him to drink some tea to help him calm his nerves because when Yeom comes out he might lash out at them.
Finally, Mr Yeom came out through the door and he looked furious and Lee’s assistant was telling him that Yeom has no guilt on his face but instead he looks brutal with that cold and stoic look on his face.
Yeom was asking Lee if he decided to come over because of Seo Dongjoo. Yeom held Lee’s hand to calm him down by saying that he must have been shocked after seeing that video. Lee looked troubled and worried so Yeom told him not to be worried, they could come up with a way to cover it up by saying that the video was fabricated.
Mr. Yeom was saying to Mr. Lee that he’ll start getting the online companies moving and in about three days nobody will believe that the video was true at all. Mr. Lee Cheolyong the elder still looked deeply concerned and I don’t blame him.
Mr. Yeom was feeling irritated and started scolding the elder by asking him he didn’t come over so late to his house just to argue with him.
Mr. Yeom was so desperate that he was grabbing onto Mr. Lee’s hand really tight but he yanked his hand right out of his grip. The elder was saying to Yeom that if he messed with Dongjoo or rather Director Seo again that would be a declaration of war against him.
Mr Lee told Mr. Yeom that he warned him once before that if he messes with Dongjoo then that’s a declaration of war against him then he asked him why he ignored his warning. And Mr. Yeom desperately told the elder that he didn’t ignore his warning even if doesn’t seem like it.
The elder was like the Director saw the one who started all this on his own? Then Mr. Yeom was like, I’m hurt…you’re siding with the guy who started all this?
The assistant decided to intervene to let Yeom know that the elder wasn’t siding with anybody. The assistant let Yeom know that Mr.Lee always thought that Director Seo was a dangerous man. The assistant added on to stay that his boss never let his guard down.
Mr. Lee Cheolyong the elder said to Mr. Yeom to bring the two trillion won that Director Seo Dongjoo took from him. Yeom was trying his best to win Mr. Lee over to him again so he came up with a silly idea which was to bring something bigger than the two trillion won that’s stuck in Dongjoo’s head. The assistant to Mr. Lee couldn’t believe it but Yeom made sure to let him know that there’s such a thing.
Mr. Yeom told Mr.Lee that he will bring him Daesan Group or rather Daesan Energy for him when coming back to him again instead of Director Seo. The elder had a hard time buying this so he was asking Mr. Yeom what his plan was to make that happen. Mr. Yeom told Mr. Lee that he’s gonna start a bottomless fund which will make sure that his successor wins the presidency.
The prosecution department decided to investigate the Daesan energy slush fund because they think that the current administration’s energy projects are connected/linked with them.
Administration Seok Sookyung was the one talking about the investigation and for some reason she was in the back seat of Gukhui’s car.
Ever since President Huh or Dongjoo’s father passed away now Chairman Cha’s second daughter was the new Chairman for Daesan Energy temporarily.
Ji Youngsoo was talking to someone on the phone and telling this person that Gukhui was discussing something with assembly woman Seok Sookyung.
Ms. Ji was speaking with Mr. Yeom and he reminded her that Assembly woman Seok Sookyung mentioned Dongjoo being tied to the slush funds of Daesan. I guess the only thing that Mr. Yeom has right now is Ms.Ji the chairman’s wife cus maybe she could help him get Daesan from her husband so that way Mr. Yeom would be able to give something to Mr. Lee the elder and this is the only way the noise will go down about him.
Yeom was telling Ms. Ji that they have to push further by finding some kind of proof or evidence to make Seo Dongjoo into someone that actually came up with those dollars in the chairman’s vault.
Ms. Ji was worried that this plan could backfire and hurt the chairman and Mr. Yeom told her not to worry cus he’ll never let that happen. Yeom also let Ms. Ji know that Dongjoo was the only person that knows the vault code which Ji Youngsoo didn’t seem to be aware of. He also mentioned that Dongjoo has been spending the money from the vault like it’s his own which has nothing to do with Chairman Cha.
Ms. Ji told Mr. Yeom that she trusts him and he told her that she should trust him. Mr. Yeom said they have to come up with a way to remove Seo Dongjoo from Daesan once and for all and it’s like plucking someone’s single hair with tweezers.
Dongjoo went over to the TONG to visit his sister Agnes. Dongjoo left some flowers there for her. He was sighing and thinking back of the old times when they were teenagers.
Sister Agnes told Dongjoo that she didn’t want to take the college entrance exam because she wanted to become a nun and Dongjoo told her to go for it. Dongjoo was like, did Jesus say you needed permission from your brother? Sister Agnes asked him because she was worried if he would be okay on his own, she needed to be sure that he was able to take care of himself in order for her to have peace of mind when she goes.
Dongjoo was riding his motorbike ever since he was a teenager and it doesn’t surprise me though. Dongjoo was working for Madam Pi and with that money he was able to look after himself. Dongjoo was telling his sister that she could go her way because he is old enough and responsible enough to look after himself and that’s the best proof he has to show to his sister for her to have the peace of mind to go her own path.
Dongjoo told his sister to not worry about him and just go on and become a nun that she wants to be. Yeonju wanted her little brother to take exams to go back to school and if it doesn’t work out he could quit on his own without someone kicking him out since Yeom Hui Cheol and his uncle were the ones responsible to push him out of the school.
Yeonju said that if Dongjoo quits his studies now and it’s almost like admitting to Yeom Hui Cheol and his uncle that their lies were true.Yeonju considers his brother Dongjoo as her savior just like how their mother Go Yoojin does too. But Dongjoo thought it was too much of Yeonju calling him a savior because to him he is just a regular young guy that doesn’t deserve to be worshipped like that. Dongjoo was like how can you call him a savior when she believes in Jesus Christ.
Yeonjoo said it’s not a big deal since Jesus knows that Dongjoo is her savior too. Dongjoo came back to the current time and was touching the photo of them together through the glass window and asked if she would still be here with him if he didn’t get into college and admitted into Daesan Energy.
Dongjoo said he can’t go back cus he wants to end this whole drama once and for all with tears in his eyes.
Meanwhile, at Daesan, the chairman and the vice chairman were having talks. Vice chairman Choi was telling Chairman Cha that on Ma Jaeyeol TV they are framing the scandal between Yeom Jang Seon and Seo Dongjoo. Vice Chairman Choi was saying that the company was constantly messaging the public that Daesan has nothing to do with this drama or rather feud between Seo Dongjoo and Yeom Jang Seon.
Dongjoo came over to Chairman Cha’s office to speak with him and the vice chairman left and told him to go see him later.
Chairman Cha was still miffed with Dongjoo and it was written all over his face. Dongjoo was saying that it was time to appoint a new CEO for Daesan. I guess Gukhui was a temporary CEO until they appoint one officially. Chairman Cha was telling Dongjoo that he was talking about appointing a new CEO with the Vice Chairman Choi.
I knew Dongjoo was gonna appoint himself to be the CEO of Daesan, I just knew it! Mr. Cha’s face looked like he just saw a ghost or he just pooped in his pants. Chairman Cha couldn’t believe what he just heard, that’s why he was like what? What did you say?!
Deokhui wasn’t having it but she went over to see Ms. Ji cus she wanted to have a little chit chat with her. The first thing that came out of her mouth was that she heard from Seonwoo’s father or rather Chairman Cha that she agreed to help Seonwoo become something at Daesan.
Deokhui scoffed at what Ms. Ji said and was saying that she’s the one who was behind the chairman controlling his decision making process. Deokhui thinks that Ms. Ji is ungrateful with her actions cus she thinks that she’s the one who helped and saved her and her son Seonwoo.
Deokhui said that in return for helping out Seonwoo, she got a whole bunch of Daesan shares through the Chairman. Deokhui said she’s trying her best to accept the fact that Seonwoo is Chairman Cha’s son. Deokhui wants to keep things low key between the two.
Ms. Ji wasn’t done with Deokhui and as she was heading out of the room she stopped her to tell her to recommend her for the chairman position of the Cha Daebok Cultural Foundation.
Deokhui said that’s not possible but Ms. Ji was still insisting saying that she talked it over with the chairman. Deokhui was explaining to her the reasons why she can’t be the chairman of the Cha Daebok Cultural Foundation and for one she always wanted that position but never was able to and so that’s why she’s just one of the regular board member of the company. Deokhui thinks that the position should go to someone with some sort of public respect. The reason is because in order for it to be something credible they have to let someone with some kind of public respect to run it for the world to see that it’s being run transparently.
Deokhui closed the distance between her and Ms. Ji and said it in an intimidating way that she doesn’t seem to have real skills besides seducing her elderly father to get to where she is now.
Of course this pissed off Ms. Ji greatly that she was teary eyed so she told Deokhui to watch what she is saying. Ms. Ji was the one who recommended the chairmanship recommendation first oddly enough. Deokhui thinks that this is the reason why she’s stating the facts that Ms. Ji is unfit for the role as the chairman for the Cha Daebok Cultural Foundation.
Deokhui said Ms. Ji quit becoming an anchor long ago that it barely counts as experience. Baking at a bakery, scheming her old father to get into Daesan are some of the things that make her unfit for higher positions within Daesan according to Cha Deokhui. Deokhui was saying that since Ms. Ji schemed her way into Daesan through the chairman and is looked upon negatively because the Cha Daebok Foundation is all about transparency and public good so a person like her would just taint the image of the foundation when it has such a clean image to the public.
Ms. Ji said she stepped back from Deokhui’s cheap and trashy threats when Seonwoo was younger. Ji Youngsoo did it to protect her son Seonwoo back then when he was a child. However, Ms. Ji doesn’t want to keep silent anymore because things have changed now. Ms. Ji now is the wife of the chairman of Daesan group and she is also Deokhui’s stepmother despite the really small age gap, she wants to start guiding the stepdaughters and instill important family values for them to follow. Ms. Ji said she is gonna be doing this so that her son Cha Seonwoo would be able to inherit the company in a proper fashion.
Deokhui obviously wasn’t happy with Ji Youngsoo saying that because for her Taeyun comes first before anybody. Deokhui was so pissed that she started grabbing Ms. Ji’s hair and pulling it! Talk about a real cat fight!
Ms. Ji told Deokhui to let go of her but she wouldn’t and kept on pulling her hair. Cha Seonwoo saw what Deokhui was doing to his mom and saw everything through the door cus it was cracked open a little bit. Ms. Ji saw her son peeking through the door and gave him the look asking for help.
Seonwoo wasn’t doing anything despite that his mother was in danger because of Deokhui but instead he was looking back to overhearing the conversation between the chairman and Dongjoo. Dongjoo was telling the chairman that he wants to be the CEO for Seonwoo.
Dongjoo asked the chairman who he really believes to be fit to guide Seonwoo become the CEO of Daesan between him and Mr. Yeom. Seonwoo was trying to persuade and convince the chairman that he is fit to be the CEO of Daesan cus with Mr. Yeom when it benefits him he would just toss Seonwoo aside which he would never do. And Mr. Yeom would pick Taeyun without hesitation if it benefits him which the chairman wouldn’t want since he firmly believes in the person with the last name Cha to inherit Daesan Group.
The Chairman had a hard time buying that because technically Taeyun is his biological brother and Seonwoo is not and it’s more natural for Dongjoo to favor Taeyun over Seonwoo so what Dongjoo was proposing to the chairman made no sense to him even though he is trying his best to hear him out on his proposal.
Dongjoo was telling the chairman that the only thing he is loyal to is Daesan group itself not anybody else. Dongjoo was trying very hard to convince the chairman and at this rate it might just go through to him, Dongjoo is such a sly dog……
The chairman had a hard time buying what Dongjoo was saying and he was being critical of it all so he asked Dongjoo why he is so invested in this matter when he doesn’t even own Daesan.
Dongjoo was saying that he wants to become the CEO of Daesan cus of Yeom Jang Seon since he is after Daesan. Dongjoo was trying to convince Chairman Cha that Mr. Yeom Jang Seon was targeting Daesan Group. After hearing what Dongjoo was saying the chairman laughed dryly and said that Yeom is already living well off of Daesan’s money anyway. Besides, Yeom has already been quietly pulling the strings with the matter of Daesan so why would he want to take it? The Chairman was being critical of what Dongjoo was trying to tell him. The Chairman doubted Yeom thinking that he wouldn’t be able to pull that off despite the fact that he’s already able to pull some things regarding Daesan.
Dongjoo brought up what happened to Daesan a long while ago when it nearly collapsed just in case the chairman forgot about what happened back then. And the reason why Daesan almost collapsed was because the oil import line was blocked and this threw Daesan energy into chaos and this happened because someone behind the scene wanted to make Mr. Huh Ildo into a hero. Dongjoo was saying that someone was Yeom Jang Seon and he was behind this whole scandal that happened a while back.
The Chairman looked like he was slowly being convinced by what Dongjoo was telling him while not all the way yet then Dongjoo continued on and said that Yeom’s goal was to run Daesan however he wanted to and once Mr. Cha stepped down, Huh Ildo took over the company.
Chairman Cha looked so confused so he asked Dongjoo if Yeom wasn’t the guy who persuaded the elder.
Dongjoo was telling the elder that he can withdraw the exact amount that he requested immediately from the National Patriotism Fund in Switzerland and wire it wherever he wants.
Dongjoo mentioned to the elder that Yeom Jang Seon is blocking Daesan energy’s crude oil import credit so he wanted the elder to step in.
Dongjoo was trying to explain to Chairman Cha that he’s the only person who can stop Yeom Jang Seon to literally go all out on the company and eat it whole which Chairman Cha would never want because Daesan is his whole life.
The Chairman was still somewhat critical of all this so he asked Dongjoo why can’t he chairman Cha himself, the vice chairman Choi, the affiliate CEOs and the board members wouldn’t be able to stop Yeom. Chairman Cha couldn’t help but to wonder why Dongjoo is the only option to stop Yeom from taking Daesan completely. The chairman even mentioned Gukhui saying maybe she could stop Mr. Yeom from going all out on taking Daesan Group.
Dongjoo said that Yeom wants to kill him and he is the only person with the proper weapon to take down Yeom Jang Seon. Dongjoo then said that he’ll step down from the CEO position once he stops Yeom Jang Seon from trying to take Daesan once and for all. Dongjoo was about to head out the door but he still had something left to say and that was telling Chairman Cha not to be swayed by that sly old dog, Mr. Yeom Jang Seon. Dongjoo hoped that the Chairman would make a wise decision regarding what he just told him.
After Dongjoo left the room the Chairman was thinking about what his wife was telling him the other day. Ms. Ji was saying to him what Yeom told him and of course Yeom said that Seonwoo is the most dangerous person. Ms. Ji was basically repeating what Mr. Yeom told her the other day. Mr. Yeom told Ms. Ji that Dongjoo is the most dangerous person in Daesan and she let Chairman Cha know this.
Ms. Ji told her husband that Dongjoo is full of ambition and one day he’s gonna clash with Seonwoo eventually.
Dongjoo was on the elevator heading somewhere and when the elevator door opened there was Eunnam and she asked him to go have a cup of tea with her. Eunnam told Dongjoo that she saw the video then asked him why he’s doing something so dangerous like that. Eunnam said Yeom tried to kill her when she was his niece in law and of course this was when he was still married to Hui Cheol. Eunnam said that Yeom tried to kill her cus she rubbed him the wrong way. Eunnam was just expressing concerns and Dongjoo told her not to worry about it cus he has it all under control. Dongjoo said that he shot that video so Mr. Yeom wouldn’t be able to do anything to him.
Dongjoo told Eunnam not to worry cus he’ll be fine. Eunnam retorted that Yeom was the one who attacked President Huh and him. Eunnam suggested that Dongjoo just give it all up and leave Daesan instead. Dongjoo was pretty determined to ruin Yeom Jang Seon for good and that’s why he was telling Eunnam that the only thing he can focus on now is to get Mr. Yeom out of Daesan once and for all.
Dongjoo was opening up to Eunnam about his past when he was a new hire at Daesan. Dongjoo was telling her that he had a grand dream of becoming the chairman of Daesan someday and he had another goal to achieve which was to marry Eunnam after he got promoted as the Director of the company.
Dongjoo went on to say that his dream wasn’t about becoming the chairman literally but helping him to aim high so that one day he would be going for the position as the president of the company which might help him land a minister’s seat.
Dongjoo continued on and said that having the dream of becoming the chairman can lead him into the position of running the subsidiary of the company. It’s a big ambition with no guarantee of success but he still couldn’t help but to dream about reaching high for something so big. Dongjoo said that back then when he first entered into the company his goal was very big but very vague too but it was crystal clear what he wanted to do now and that is getting rid of Yeom Jang Seon once and for all.
Eunnam put her hand on Dongjoo’s hand and looked into his eyes and asked if the child in that photo was indeed him. Eunnam looked back on the that particular day when she was talking about that old photo with Dongjoo was in his car where Eunnam was telling Dongjoo that the kid her father was holding wasn’t her. Eunnam was asking Dongjoo if he knew that kid and Dongjoo acted as if he didn’t know the kid either which was a lie.
Then Eunnam went back to the time when Dongjoo was telling her that they’re both caught in a net. Dongjoo was telling Eunnam that they were caught in a net that was woven by their parents and all the adults.
“Do you think we can break free from getting hurt?” That’s the question that Dongjoo asked Eunnam that day.
Eunnam now finally realizes why Dongjoo asked that. Eunnam knows that her mom made President Huh kill his mom and her dad. So Eunnam found it weird that Dongjoo was begging her for forgiveness at a place like that. Then Dongjoo told Eunnam that it’s because he knows what her pain feels like now. They both know what’s like to lose a parent or a family member.
Eunnam softly hugged Dongjoo but for some reason his eyes looked hollow. It’s obvious that Dongjoo still loves her but his eyes still looked a little hollow for some strange reason.
Meanwhile, Ms. Ji decided to visit Mr. Yeom and she apologized for coming by unannounced but it was clear that Mr. Yeom didn’t mind, as a matter of fact he was happy to see her even if it was unannounced.
Yeom was a little surprised that Ms. Ji came by unannounced and it was her first time every doing that too. Mr. Yeom approves of Ms. Ji taking action quietly. Ji Youngsoo had a concerned face and this puzzled Mr. Yeom a little.
Ms. Ji took out a large envelope from her purse and it was the records of funds of Daesan from the chairman’s inner vault. Mr. Yeom looked happy finding out what the envelope was although he was surprised that she was able to get her hands on it already so fast.
As Mr. Yeom was looking at the information from the envelope he was talking to himself about whether he should put the assembly woman Seok in front of the press again or not. Mr. Yeom was wondering if it would be better to hand it straight over to the prosecutors instead. Ms. Ji asked when Director Seo will be leaving Daesan.
Yeom was smiling with delight and asked Ms. Ji if he hates Dongjoo that much for her to ask him about when he’s leaving Daesan. Youngsoo was telling Mr. Yeom that everything will be okay with the Chairman since he’s keeping his distance with Dongjoo although Dongjoo’s coming up with sincere ways to communicate with the Chairman to persuade him into listening to his advice.
Ms. Ji expressed concerns over Seonwoo keep on getting drawn in with this whole thing which worries her to a degree. Mr.Yeom told Ms. Ji not to be too worried since Chairman Cha was in the same position that Seonwoo was in not too long ago until he set him straight. Mr. Yeom asked Ms. Ji if Seonwoo is aware that Dongjoo and Taeyun are brothers.
According to Ji Youngsoo Seonwoo is well aware that Dongjoo and Taeyun are brothers now and Mr. Yeom was saying that with this information Dongjoo might think he’s on Seonwoo’s side now. But in the end Dongjoo will choose Taeyun who is his own flesh and blood. Mr. Yeom made sure that Ji Youngsoo drill this into Seonwoo’s head, it’s like a form of brainwashing to make Seonwoo think differently than now for their grand plan. It’s obvious that both Dongjoo and Mr. Yeom are fighting their last battle so they need people on their side to win.
Seonwoo was studying while listening to music or whatever he was listening to and he was sighing cus he had a lot on his mind.
Seonwoo was thinking about what Taeyun said regarding Huh Ildo’s ashes when he said that Dongjoo should be able to do whatever he does with President Huh’s ashes. Taeyun emphasized the fact that Dongjoo should be able to take President Huh’s ashes since he is the son of Huh family as well. This is when Seonwoo found out that Dongjoo and Taeyun were actual brothers.
Seonwoo was sitting on his chair thinking about all the things that happened recently instead of studying because he just couldn’t focus after hearing all these things through various people living in the house.
Seonwoo saw Deokhui come out of his mother’s room and his face looked so blank and expressionless as if he’s trying to work out what he is observing at the moment. Seonwoo hugged his mom Ji Youngsoo and she was crying while being hugged by his grown son. Seonwoo was hugging his mom while shaking and his eyes looked determined about something whatever that was.
Seonwoo lit up the lighter expressionless while being deep in thought about something. Meanwhile, Dongjoo called Deokhui over to have a serious talk with her. It’s so weird seeing the interaction between Dongjoo and Deokhui because it’s so serious throughout Buried Hearts but I remember seeing these two as different characters in What Happens to my Family. I prefer watching the interaction between Cha Dalbong and Noh Youngseol as goofy cousins.
Deokhui said she had no other choice but to come and see Dongjoo because he was camping outside waiting to see her. When Deokhui asked Dongjoo why he asked for her and he told her not to be so nervous around him because he’s not there to talk about their past. Apparently, Dongjoo was not ready to talk about the details of their past thoroughly right now anyway. Dongjoo said that he resents Deokhui at times, so much that he would sometimes have the urge to go out and kill her.
Deokhui couldn’t understand Dongjoo’s sentiment because he was saying just a moment ago that he’s not ready to talk about the past but here he is saying that he wants to kill her? Although Dongjoo felt that he had the right or he deserved to say at least that much without getting into too much detail. Dongjoo was saying that there’s something more important for him to tell her which is to let her know that they need to get rid of Yeom Jang Seon from Daesan so therefore he needs to be the CEO of Daesan.
Deokhui scoffed at Dongjoo and couldn’t believe the fact that Dongjoo was telling her all this. It finally clicked though, Deokhui realized why Dongjoo wanted to see her. Deokhui knew that in order for Dongjoo to be the CEO of Daesan he would need her shares of Daesan Energy and this means he would need her approval for that to happen.
However, Deokhui let Dongjoo know that the CEO position of Daesan is what Gukhui wants as well. Dongjoo then said that it’s not the right time for her to be so worried about her sister’s feelings. Dongjoo is so smart because he knows the strengths and weaknesses of the people that he’s trying to sway. Dongjoo brought up Ms. Ji that Deokhui dislikes saying that the new wife of the chairman is using Mr. Yeom to sway the chairman. Dongjoo continued on by saying that if Deokhui lets this one go then Taeyun’s future will be completely erased. Dongjoo is so darn sly though, he is such a catch because he is so smart, handsome and witty.
Dongjoo knew how to press Deokhui’s buttons and they were Ms. Ji and Taeyun so that’s why Deokhui decided to help Dongjoo but there was a condition though. Deokhui wanted Dongjoo to sign a waiver saying that he will renounce his claim to President Huh’s inheritance and this is the only way she’ll go with helping out Dongjoo.
Dongjoo was like, why would I do that? And Deokhui was like, you need my help right? Dongjoo then said that Deokhui would need Dongjoo and she will need to depend on him more and more since Taeyun’s future is uncertain as of now.
Dongjoo was about to go on the elevator and some guy quickly hopped on and they were both awkwardly standing there then the guy was like telling Dongjoo that Yeom is leaking the slush fund story. The guy was telling Dongjoo that Yeom has Assembly woman Seok Sookyung involved too then Dongjoo was telling the guy that they better get moving before Mr. Yeom makes a move to get him. I guess this dude is on Dongjoo’s side.
After hearing what Mr. Yeom was about to say by trying to fabricate the video that Ma Jaeyeol TV uploaded the other day Dongjoo decided to take the matters into his own hands which was to open up a press conference before Yeom does through Assembly woman Seok.
At the press conference Dongjoo said that Mr. Yeom claimed that the National Patriotism Fund never existed and one of the female reporters asked Dongjoo what he thinks of that and he said once an investigation into the fund begins then he’ll start talking about that.
Then the reporter said that even after Assembly woman Seok’s press conference the prosecutors are not showing signs up taking up that case then Dongjoo said that there is someone actively blocking the investigation to start on this particular case.
The second reporter asked Dongjoo if he had an interest in becoming the new Daesan CEO to follow in President Huh’s footsteps as his biological son.
Mr. Yeom was watching the press conference that Dongjoo is holding through his device with his secretary, Cheon Guho.
Dongjoo told the reporter that he always dreamed about becoming a CEO of Daesan even before finding out that Huh Ildo was his biological father.
Mr. Yeom was so pissed off that he told Cheon to just turn the darn thing off. Yeom was telling Cheon that Dongjoo will only speak to it once an official investigation into the fund begins. Yeom was saying that Dongjoo was saying all this knowing that both the elder and he himself can go public about this.
Yeom seemed to be running out of options so he kept on saying curse words towards Dongjoo. Mr. Yeom was devastated about this situation because he felt like Dongjoo was outsmarting him so that’s why he was so out of it but then the elder was calling him and normally he would pick up but not this time since he has too much at stakes right now.
Mr.Yeom and his secretary Cheon arrived which looked like to be the court building and there were a lot of reports there surrounding Mr. Yeom. One reporter said that Director Seo submitted a new evidence connecting to him. And of the evidence was that Manager Yoo’s death was linked with Mr. Yeom and the reporter asked him if he admits to the charges.
Apparently, Yeom showed up to court voluntarily. The reporter was asking Yeom why he showed up at the prosecution office so suddenly then he said while the cameras were on that him and Chairman Cha of Daesan were friends for a very long time. Yeom said that Chairman Cha is not well cus he is suffering from dementia. Then the reporters were all murmuring going, what? Dementia?
One of the reporters said to Mr. Yeom that Chairman Cha just attended a meeting hosted by an American Chamber commerce yesterday and this was the reason why the reporters had a hard time believing that the chairman had dementia. And another reporter said that some people saw signs of dementia in Chairman Cha during his wedding. The reporters were asking if this was true or not cus they had a hard time believing what Yeom was telling them about Cha’s dementia.
Then Yeom starts to elaborate on the reporters curiosity about Mr. Cha. Mr. Yeom was telling the reporters that Chairman Cha, his old friend was very vulnerable due to his dementia, and Dongjoo took advantage of him so he could try to destroy Daesan Group. Yeom continued on and told the group of reporters standing there that when he caught Director Seo looting Daesan he turned around and framed him. Mr. Yeom told the reporters standing there that he will be fully cooperating with the investigation that’s happening today.
As Yeom was heading into the prosecution office the reporters constantly asking him about the proof of Mr. Cha’s dementia and if he can take responsibility to what he said in public. Yeom turned around to elaborate some more cus the reporters were being stubborn for not believing him. Mr. Yeom told the reporters that there are some reporters from Daesan and he also has the diagnosis of Chairman Cha’s dementia there with him. Yeom told the reporters that he has the diagnosis of Chairman Cha’s dementia but due to privacy reasons he won’t be able to show it out in public without his permission. However, Mr. Yeom said that he was willing to show the diagnosis as evidence once he is talking to the people inside of the prosecution office.
Chairman Cha was watching Yeom Jang Seon reporting to the prosecution office. Chairman Cha was so pissed that he threw the device on the floor but he was so mad that it was affecting him physically.Chairman Cha was in so much pain that he was groaning and he fell on the floor.
Fortunately, Secretary Gong came into Chairman Cha’s room and discovered him collapsed on the floor. Then everybody else came down like Seonwoo and Ms. Ji too. Obviously both Ji Youngsoo and Cha Seonwoo were extremely worried about Chairman Cha.
Seonwoo was carrying Chairman Cha on his back and Secretary Gong told whoever is available to get the car ready for the chairman. Taeyun told his mom that he’ll bring the car around to the front. Deokhui was wondering what was going on and so she went downstairs to follow the people that left before her. Chef Do couldn’t help but to worry about the chairman saying that maybe Chairman Cha fainted cus he wasn’t eating well and as you get older food becomes medicine so eating the right food is important. Chef Do knew that something was off about Chairman Cha when he only took a few bites of his food and Chef Do’s wife was concerned too after hearing this from her husband. Chef Do’s wife was saying to her husband if the chairman dies like this then the family might blame them for bringing bad luck. Mr’s Do’s wife always says silly things when things bad things happen to the people in the Cha family.
Chef Do’s wife was like, Madam Ji Youngsoo is in trouble now. Chef Do told his wife to watch what she says because she’s going a little too far with this as usual, she just loves freaking out and saying nonsensical things when things go wrong in the house. Chef Do added that if the chairman dies they might be out of a job because the only reason why they even have a job is cus of the chairman since he is so particular when it comes to the way he eats.
Dongjoo was watching the news about what happened to Daesan and according to the reports, Daesan’s stocks across all subsidiaries took a big hit after Mr. Yeom announcing Chairman Cha’s dementia to the public. The reports were saying that Chairman Cha has been making all the important decisions of the company so knowing about Chairman Cha’s dementia will have a devastating impact on Daesan Group as a whole. Dongjoo was sighing not knowing what to do. I think that the rest of episode 15 and the final episode will basically be a ping pong match between Dongjoo and Mr. Yeom.
I guess one of the guys at Daesan who sides with Dongjoo was giving Director Seo more info on what’s going on. The guy was telling Dongjoo about what Ms. Ji said about the Chairman and according to the chairman’s wife the chairman’s stomach spasms have eased up. Dongjoo was so glad to hear that the chairman was okay through his colleague Gihyeon.
The vice chairman Choi Gihyeon is good friends with Director Seo so he shares a lot of important things of the company with Dongjoo. Dongjoo was saying that Mr. Yeom exposed Chairman Cha’s health condition so he can make the stocks go down on the company so he would be able to buy it up cheap with his fund allies and friends.
Vice Chairman said to Dongjoo that if they come up with a way to resolve the instabilities around the chairman the Daesan shares will bounce back in no time. However, Dongjoo was still a little unsure about this because he is well aware that Mr. Yeom knows the ins and outs of Daesan more than anybody else.
Vice Chairman thought that if the chairman is not in the hospital they would be able to call the press and show everybody that the chairman is doing quite well but for now that’s not the case so they have to come up with something else for now.
Dongjoo said that’s not a good back up plan either because it would be so much worse if the chairman’s condition gets worse all of a sudden in front of the press. According to Dongjoo if something like that happens it would be difficult to deal with and contain it. The vice chairman realized that Dongjoo had a point there so for now they would just have to be and come up with a different solution to get back at Mr. Yeom.
The main family members were at the hospital with the chairman. Ms. Ji ordered Seonwoo to help the chairman get into bed. Seonwoo smiled at his old father and helped him get on the bed. Deokhui was observing the relationship between her old father and Seonwoo which bothered her a bit. When the chairman called Seonwoo my son and when he called the old man father, Deokhui thought their relationship was too good while Taeyun felt a little out of place all of a sudden.
Taeyun looked sad that Seonwoo was almost replacing him, at least on the surface anyway. As both Seonwoo and his mother were helping the chairman get into bed, the first thing he asked was about the Daesan stocks and Gukhi said from the other side of the room that the Daesan stocks are tanking. Ms. Ji looked a little nervous about everything, I guess she realizes that everything is a ticking time bomb even though she doesn’t want to admit it out right.
Gukhui said that she checked earlier about the Daesan stocks but it was getting worse and worse that she was scared to look at it again. The chairman was groaning in pain and Ji Youngsoo was thinking about what she did with Mr. Yeom, I guess she was feeling a little guilty about everything.
This whole thing with the Chairman and Daesan stocks dropping was planned by Mr. Yeom and Ms. Ji Youngsoo. Mr. Yeom Jang Seon asked if Ms. Ji brought the envelop with the important information of Daesan and she took it out from her purse and handed it over to Mr. Yeom. Yeom told Ms. Ji that once the news goes out publicly about Chairman Cha’s dementia, Daesan stocks will drop super fast.
Mr. Yeom said once the Daesan stocks plummet they will buy up Daesan shares and increase the stakes for them personally. Ms. Ji was okay with all this but she was still concerned to some degree and what she worried about the most if the stocks drop too far then the group could possibly collapse.
According to Mr. Yeom, Daesan’s businesses are solid that she wouldn’t have to worry about it completely collapsing Daesan. Also, the stocks will recover in due time so she doesn’t have to worry about it completely falling apart, that’s what Yeom Jang Seon said to Ms. Ji although she still seemed little worried.
Yeom assured Ms. Ji that she married into the right family then asked her to give him the diagnosis regarding Chairman Cha’s dementia. Ms. Ji had the envelop with Mr. Cha’s dementia but she suddenly felt reluctant to hand it over to him, her face was full of worry.
Mr. Yeom said that he decided to be Ms. Ji’s friend because he’s a warm hearted person and he’s not working with her because she holds a great position.Yeom was saying that Ms. Ji should know better not to be suspicious of him or doubt him. Mr. Yeom told Ms. Ji to leave the envelop there with him and she can leave but she still was hesitant to hand over the evidence of Mr. Cha’s health to him.
Yeom Jang Seon pretty much threatened Ms. Ji saying that he hasn’t turned cold yet and when he does he could become scary. Finally, Ms. Ji handed over the “evidence” to Mr. Yeom.
Ms. Ji knows everything because she’s the one who has been working with Yeom even before getting married to the Chairman. Dr. Kim and Gukhui were talking about admitting the chairman and he would have to stay at the hospital for few more days.
The chairman asked Dr. Kim if he had the brain scan and he said yes to his question and Ms. Ji looked nervous. Ms. Ji tried to stop Dr. Kim from announcing the result in front of everybody and Gukhui’s husband was saying that the chairman isn’t a huge fan of discussing or even talking about any kind of test results behind his back.
Chairman Cha said it would be necessary to keep this a secret since he is already aware of his condition. The chairman was asking Dr. Kim how much worse his condition is now and his second son in law said that according to the neurology the prognosis isn’t all that bad. But the problem that the chairman is having right now is stress induced gastritis according to Dr. Kim.
Dr. Kim continued on and said that the chairman’s overall condition isn’t all that good though. Ms.Ji looked worried, afraid, and uncertain…..
Chairman Cha was glad and relived that his dementia isn’t progressing super fast though but he still has dementia though. And the Chairman said that his memory has been decent lately and Taeyun seemed to be glad to hear that and he showed it with a soft and simple smile.
The chairman was calling Ms. Ji and she was so out of it that she wasn’t even answering him until his son Seonwoo said something about it. Ms. Ji decided to break the awkwardness by asking the chairman if he wants some porridge and he was most certainly okay with that but Deokhui was observing Ms. Ji as if she is suspicious about her or something.
Dongjoo came over to the hospital to visit the Chairman and once he got to his hospital room everyone left except for the assistant who was helping chairman Cha move around.
After he helper left the Chairman started to talk about important matters right away. Mr. Cha was saying that Yeom lost his mind the moment Dongjoo handed over the evidence of the murder case. This shows that the Chairman she still has some mental capability and like he was telling his family members earlier that his memory isn’t too bad either.
Dongjoo and the Chairman seemed to be getting along again. Dongjoo didn’t forget to tell the chairman that all this was under Mr. Yeom’s plan. Dongjoo was telling the chairman that he is almost certain that Mr. Yeom is going to buying up all the Daesan shares pretty soon.
However, according to the chairman if Mr. Yeom combines the shares with his allies they will become a power block. It’s quite obvious that Dongjoo and the chairman are on the same team now because the chairman was asking Dongjoo how they are gonna team up and stop Yeom from going even further.
Dongjoo came up with an idea called a tender offer and they should proceed that way instead of taking the obvious route like before. According to Dongjoo, in order to actively defend management control “tender offer” might be the best way to go about this situation.
Mr. Chairman was saying that he was thinking the same thing as Dongjoo. Dongjoo said that if he gets the approval from the chairman he will use tender offer to block Yeom Jang Seon’s attacks. Chairman Cha was still worried because raising funds won’t be easy to take care of this situation. Then suddenly the chairman asked Director Seo if he’s gonna be using his two trillion won stuck in his head.
Dongjoo told the chairman that he hasn’t decided how to use that money yet. Dongjoo was telling the chairman that he does know some people who would like to invent in Daesan energy. The chairman approved and Dongjoo thanked the old man.
The chairman told Dongjoo to thank Seonwoo instead because when Yeom sent him into gastric pain it was his son Seonwoo who picked him up and ran for his life. Last time Taeyun helped him but this time it was his own son Seonwoo which made him feel pleased. The chairman said that it felt different to be on your own son’s back instead of your grandson. Dongjoo had an expressionless face when the old man said that cus deep inside he would’ve liked to have that kind of relationship with his own father but that was impossible because of Yeom.
Chairman Cha said that the Huh family’s back and Cha family’s back is night and day. Chairman Cha is very proud of being a Cha and having a son that could carry on that name makes him proud obviously.
Then Chairman Cha thought about it and realized that all of this was possible and made his dreams come true cus of Dongjoo and this is why he called him into have a chit chat with him.
The chairman grabbed Dongjoo’s hand and held it tightly and looked at him right in the eyes and said perhaps after he dies Dongjoo might be the one to take Seonwoo down ultimately. Chairman Cha doesn’t know what the future holds but at least while he is alive he wants Dongjoo to do everything he possibly can for the family and for Seonwoo especially.
Dongjoo went over to visit Madam Pi and said that the Chairman needs help and he told her that both him and the chairman agreed to go ahead with the tender offer. Myung Taegeum was there with Madam Pi and Dongjoo too.
Madam Pi was wondering if they should go ahead with the tender since President Huh made him promise before he died. Dongjoo’s father Huh Ildo made him promise not to touch the Daesan stocks when he passed away.
Myung Taegeum was thinking about helping Dongjoo because helping his friend is very important to her. Taegeum felt that helping his friend come first so she decided to deal with her father’s will later on after this is all said and done. Myung Taegeum has the same goal as Dongjoo, President Cha, and Jang Ilnam which is to destroy Yeom Jang Seon once and for all.
Taegeum was saying that if they pool funds that those CEOs were managing under her father, they’ll be able to come up with a decent amount. According to Madam Pi, Taegeum’s father Myung Pyeonseok is one of the top three persons in Korea in the financial department.
Madam Pi told Taegeum to put everything into the fund for the Daesan Energy tender offer.
The vice Chairman Choi Gilhyeon came to see the chairman but his face looked concerned saying, it’s me Choi Gilhyeon. The vice chairman had to emphasize who he was because it seemed like the chairman wasn’t able to recognize him all of a sudden for some strange reason. The chairman was looking at the vice chairman kind of funny and not able to recognize him and this worried the vice chairman. The vice chairman told Dongjoo that Chairman Cha was fine just a little while ago and now all of a sudden he’s not able to remember him for some weird reason.
The chairman was messing with the vice chairman, acting and pretending that he lost his memory and said got ya, to the vice chairman and out of relief Mr Choi started laughing out loud too.
Dongjoo looked so confused while the vice chairman was so relieved that the chairman played a gotcha on him. The chairman asked Dongjoo how the tender offer thing is going and the younger man told the older man that the timing, volume, and price seemed perfect at first but it turns out that it’s not so easy.
Dongjoo was telling Mr. Cha that they might need a short time loan just in case they may have to raise the price. Mr Cha agreed with Dongjoo about being prepared just in case something goes wrong. The chairman doesn’t want to hand everything over to Yeom that they worked so hard for. Dongjoo told the chairman that he’ll have the investment bank for Daesan check on the National Pension Service Stance.
Mr Cha agreed with everything Dongjoo was saying but the vice Chairman said he had to go cus he is busy with something. The vice chairman told Dongjoo that he needed to talk to him privately so he pulled him over and told him the truth about the Chairman. The vice chairman told Dongjoo that Chairman Cha really did not recognize him just a moment ago and this wasn’t the first time him being like that. According to Vice Chairman Choi, Chairman Cha has been acting like this a lot more often. The vice chairman said that it was quite upsetting to go through this every so often.
The chairman really didn’t look okay and it seems like his mind comes and goes just like most dementia patients. Dongjoo looked really concerned and as soon as he sat back on the chair the chairman told Dongjoo that he really didn’t recognize him so I’m guessing he recognize some people and while he doesn’t with others?
Dongjoo told the chairman that he was able to figure out that the chairman didn’t recognize the vice chairman just moments ago then Mr. Cha started telling Dongjoo about when vice chairman Choi started working for Daesan. Chairman Cha said that the vice chairman joined Daesan straight out of college so they’ve known each other for decades. Chairman Cha was saying life is being cruel to him right now and he doesn’t know how he got to where he’s at now. Chairman Cha wasn’t having it so he told Dongjoo that he’s heading in and Dongjoo said he’ll drive him home but then the chairman told Director Seo that he already has a professional driver now. Mr. Cha said he doesn’t really have business riding in Dongjoo’s car to get home.
Mr. Cha looked like he was getting worse and worse in the face and this was making Dongjoo feel concerned which is completely normal for him to think that way.
The professional driver drove Chairman Cha over to the prosecution department and told him not to follow him for some reason. The chairman went into the prosecution office building and some gentleman came over to him and asked what he needed and the chairman told him that he had something to take care of.
Chairman Cha was inside of the dark room in the prosecution office and everybody was surprised that it was chairman Cha GangCheon indeed. Prosecutor number two said to his colleague that the chairman really came to reveal the truth behind his son in law, Huh Ildo’s death before he lost his memory completely.
Mr. Yeom was going from firm to firm doing his thing without knowing what Mr. Cha is up to, Mr. Yeom looked so happy because he thinks that things are going his way but it really isn’t and once the chairman reveals the truth about Huh Ildo’s death things will get real ugly, real fast.
Unfortunately, Mr. Yeom couldn’t hop in the car to get to the next firm because he was arrested on the spot and charged with ordering Huh Ildo’s murder and this changed the color of his face real fast and Mr. Cheon’s face changed almost immediately too. One of the prosecutors said that they would need to arrest Yeom due to the risk of evidence tampering.
Mr. Yeom was arrested by two men right on the spot while Mr. Cheon was watching too. Then we get to the scene where Mr. Yeom meets with the elder’s assistant drinking wine together. The elder’s assistant told Yeom that he’ll get the expensive stuff once he gets back home. Mr. Yeom decided to take the slightly cheaper wine given by the elder’s personal assistant.
Mr. Yeom was pissed that they arrested him without a warrant. The elder’s assistant was like, that crazy old man Cha Gangcheon and Mr. Yeom was like, WHAT?! CHA GANGCHEON?!
Mr. Yeom had no idea that he was arrested on the spot because of the chairman. The elder’s assistant saw the chairman walking into the prosecution office all by himself despite the fact that he’s senile and all. Chairman Cha told the prosecutors that he’ll report Yeom who’s responsible for Huh Ildo’s death before his memory fades. The assistant man told Mr. Yeom that by pure chance and luck one of the elder’s juniors walked into the prosecutor’s office and found out about it.
The assistant man told Mr. Yeom that they have to play fair since the people are watching. Mr. Yeom was pissed off at the old man Cha because Yeom thinks that Cha is being ungrateful when he’s the one who made Daesan grow so big and successful.
The assistant man told Mr. Yeom to go home and get some rest since the arrest warrant was denied fortunately. The assistant of the elder told Mr. Yeom that he would be able to be investigated without getting detained. The assistant man said that the elder arranged for Mr. Yeom to get a special treatment and that’s why he would be able to get investigated without detainment but Yeom could not agree with this because he thinks that he doesn’t deserve to be investigated.
Mr. Yeom was so pissed that he yelled at the assistant man Nam Sangcheol to go and talk to Lee Cheolyeong and from this moment on he is not gonna be investigated period! Nam Cheolyeong didn’t know what else to say so he just said okay and poured Mr. Yeom more wine into his glass.
Mr Yeom was so pissed that he asked Mr. Nam to pour him some of the cheap wine and this surprised Mr. Nam because normally Yeom doesn’t drink cheap wine.
Mr. Yeom was drunk, I don’t think I’ve seen him this drunk before even when he’s the type of guy that drinks wine quite often. The prosecutors put Mr. Yeom in a car to take him home. Mr. Yeom told Mr. Nam to be good. Mr. Nam told Mr. Yeom to go home and get some rest.
Yeom was so drunk that he was deep asleep in the car and he had no idea where he was until he we gradually woke up from his power nap and when he did awake he realized that he wasn’t home but somewhere strange.
Mr. Yeom was looking around because he did not see the driver but just an empty car and noticed that Dongjoo was sitting there in the car right next to him. Dongjoo grabbed Mr. Yeom by the collar and chocked him to the point where he was squealing in pain. At first I thought Dongjoo stabbed Yeom then it looked like he choked him but he used some kind of a little device and zapped him then the old Yeom fainted.
Then Dongjoo went over to the driver’s seat after he got the job done then he tossed the the tool away. Dongjoo got all his anger and vengeance out of the way but then he seemed to be emotionally overwhelmed by what he did. Dongjoo looked kinda scared because it’s almost like killing someone. Dongjoo put his seatbelt on and drove off with Mr. Yeom still sitting in the back seat.
The news reporter was saying on the news that it’s been three days since Mr. Yeom a former prosecutor and professor at Hankuk University law school went missing. Then the reporter was saying that Mr. Yeom was heavily involved in the death of former Daesan Energy CEO, Huh Ildo. Then another reporter on the news said that it’s been a month since the former prosecutor and a university professor at Hankuk Law school went missing/vanished. There have been no signs of life or activity from professor Yeom. Prosecutors have suspended the indictment against Professor Yeom.
==================================================================
Episode 16 the final episode started out a bit atmospheric and eerie. Dongjoo was all dressed in black sleeping for the most part and he was even having nightmares of Mr. Yeom appearing telling him to die while calling him a bastard and such.
Dongjoo made sure that he was armed just in case something happens while he’s sleeping. Someone was saying that it’s normal for Dongjoo to have a nightmare cus he has something awful stashed under his bed. Dongjoo pointed his gun at whoever was speaking to him.
It was Huh Ildo speaking to Dongjoo. The ghost? Oh and Huh Ildo was saying that Dongjoo was having nightmares because of the gun he’s holding. Huh Ildo was asking why he’s keeping such a thing, what he meant was the gun he was holding in his hands.
Dongjoo agreed with his father and then Huh Ildo said it’s silly for him to keep such a thing even if it’s a trophy or a symbol of it. Ildo was telling his son that a gun is dangerous and it doesn’t suit him. Dongjoo’s father Huh Ildo was saying those guns are terrible because those are the darn things that almost killed him. Huh Ildo told Dongjoo to let go of the gun and also let go of him so he could go back to the spirit world perhaps?
Huh Ildo encouraged his son and said that he won but Dongjoo was like did I really win? Ildo nodded calmly and answered him that he won. I don’t think I have had ever since Huh Ildo looked so calm and serene in Buried Hearts but it makes sense though since he’s a peaceful ghost now. Ildo was telling Dongjoo to just let go of everything and the only thing he has left to do now is be happy with Eunnam and that’s all.
Dongjoo came into the room where the painting of the yacht is because he came to his father’s ashes after communicating with this ghost. Dongjoo put his hand on the ashes and seemed to be deep in thought then on his way out of the room he was looking at the painting that Eunnam drew of their dream vacation that almost happened but got interrupted by Yeom and his men. Dongjoo was dressed in all black suit looking cool as usual just staring into the painting.
Dongjoo was just staring into the painting as if he’s ready to go inside of it. Dongjoo walked over to a burger joint in the neighborhood all dressed up as if he’s about to go work in the middle of the night. Dongjoo was unaware that he was being watched and the very person who was spying on him was none other than Mr. Yeom’s secretary, Cheon Guho.
After spotting Dongjoo at the near by burger restaurant he went back home and called Assembly Nam in front of Yeom Jang Seon’s wife. Mr. Yeom’s wife was worried about her husband since she hasn’t seen nor heard from him in quite some time. Cheon was telling Ms. Yeom that Assemblyman Nam just told him to tell her not to worry so much and stay put. Cheon was telling Ms. Yeom that Assembly Nam told him that he saw Dongjoo getting in the elder’s car and saw him right outside of the hospital.
Ms. Yeom was saying that plenty of time has passed so they should report it to the police since her husband’s gone missing for quite a while now. Cheon told Mr. Yeom’s wife that Mr. Yeom wouldn’t like that idea.
Ms. Yeom started yelling at Mr. Cheon asking him if he’s gonna take responsibility if her husband is dead or something.
The news anchor said that it’s been a month since Professor Yeom Jang Seon went missing. Yeom Jang Seon the professor at Hankuk University law school just vanished and hasn’t been seen for a month now. There have been no sign of life or activity of Yeom Jang Seon, the news anchor said. Prosecutors have suspended the indictment against Professor Yeom a male news anchor said. Dongjoo was waiting for his food at the burger restaurant and there was a flat screen TV right in front of him but the news was on and the news anchor was reporting about Mr. Yeom which caught Dongjoo’s attention.
The news anchor went on to say that the case is on hold because the suspect or witness can’t be located. Once they found the investigation resuming and the decision to suspend the indictment shows the prosecution’s determination to pursue the case.
Mr. Cheon saw Dongjoo coming out of the burger joint as he was coming out of the place. I thought it was strange that Dongjoo was dressed up so nicely as if he’s going to work because I thought it was night time but it was early morning. Dongjoo stopped by the burger joint to buy some food for him, the chairman and the vice chairman.
The chairman praised vice president Choi saying that if it weren’t for him they wouldn’t have been able to clean up the mess that Yeom caused. The vice chairman was being humble giving the chairman credit for still standing the tall despite his health problems.
Chairman Cha asked the vice chairman if it would be okay to appoint Dongjoo as the CEO of Daesan at the meeting today. The vice chairman said that wouldn’t be a problem since many of the shareholders have expressed support in Dongjoo becoming the new CEO of Daesan Energy. The vice president added that even Cha Gukhui stepped down after the chairman stepped in so everything wrapped up smoothly so the chairman doesn’t have to worry about promoting Dongjoo as the CEO of Daesan Energy.
The chairman was telling the VC that they should have reined in Gukhui a bit earlier. The chairman said that Dongjoo went through extra trouble that was unnecessary because of Gukhui.
Visiting every institutional investor one by one was a bit of a hassle so technically Dongjoo had to go through unnecessary steps to become the new CEO of Daesan and Dongjoo was being humble about it saying that it wasn’t a problem for him at all. Dongjoo said that competing with Gukhui actually helped him to prepare him for the long run.
Mr. Cha was asking Dongjoo what his agenda is gonna be for the morning meeting. Dongjoo was talking about merging between Daesan Energy and Daesan Chemical. Both the Chairman and the vice chairman were like what? They didn’t quite seem to get the concept.
Dongjoo elaborated on what he was saying to help his bosses understand a bit better about his proposal. Dongjoo said that the idea was to integrate the two and expand the business scope. Dongjoo was telling his two bosses that if they channel the combined strength into Daesan volt, Daesan Energy’s subsidiary they would be able to take it public within three years in his humble opinion.
The chairman seemed to be okay with Dongjoo’s proposal so he told him to bring the detailed plan and Dongjoo said yes sir!
The chairman said that Gukhui is gonna flip when she hears this news about Dongjoo becoming the CEO and Dongjoo said he’ll have a talk with her to help her understand somehow.
The Chairman said that there’s need to be one more person at the shareholders meeting and the vice chairman said that most of the shareholders have been confirmed already so he was confused about who else is gonna be coming.
Mr. Cha said that it’s gonna be Yeom. Professor Yeom has been out of contact for over a month now and that’s what the vice chairman was saying to Chairman Cha.
Director Seo stopped from Mr. Yeom from snatching up Daesan Energy for free and now the chairman wants to see the look on the old Yeom’s face when he hears the name Director Seo Dongjoo as the CEO of Daesan. The vice chairman thought that the old charmian is pettier than what he originally thought.
The chairman was making fun of Yeom saying that he’s dodging an investigation towards him but the vice chairman cut him off and said that there has been a rumor going around that his disappearance isn’t staged. Some are saying that Yeom was actually killed since he had so many enemies.
The vice chairman was saying that Mr. Yeom possibly was murdered is all over the internet now and the chairman was like enemies?
Nobody suffered more than director Seo cus of Yeom, even after everything he was still holding back. Dongjoo’s bosses were wondering who beat him to it and of course Dongjoo was sitting there awkwardly because he was the one that stabbed him with a tool in the car.
Gukhui was saying that Professor Yeom’s absence was a huge blow. Gukhui was miffed because the shareholders who were all backing her have switched to Dongjoo for this CEO position. Ms. Ji was saying to Gukhui that something must have happened to Mr. Yeom since nobody has heard from him for a whole month which isn’t normal at all. Gukhui was saying maybe Yeom cut off contact with Ms. Ji Youngsoo her step mother. Gukhui was thinking that Mr. Yeom cut Youngsoo off on purpose.
Ms. Ji couldn’t understand why Gukhui was making those kinds of assumptions. Gukhui was thinking that maybe he’s switching sides from Cha Seonwoo to Huh Taeyun. Gukhui was telling her step mother that her late brother in law Huh Ildo rose through the ranks at Daesan thanks to Mr. Yeom’s political backing and Taeyun is the president’s son, well more like was but he’s also Dongjoo’s brother.
Ms. Ji was saying that there’s a possibility that Mr. Yeom could change sides and then she added that once the chairman passes away she and her son Cha Seonwoo will be inheriting the chairman’s shares of the company and Gukhui couldn’t help but to show her googly eyes after hearing that, she couldn’t believe what her step mother was saying. Ji Youngsoo was saying that she and her son Seonwoo will be the biggest shareholders of Daesan when the chairman passes away. Ms. Ji told Gukhui not to forget that she and Seonwoo will be the ones inheriting Daesan group and Gukhui just couldn’t believe what she was hearing but the conversation was cut short thanks to Eunnam.
Eunnam was asking the two women why they were looking so sneaky as if they were plotting something behind her back. Ms. Ji was complimenting and praising Eunnam saying that the two were just talking about how great it is that she is now on board of Daesan Energy.
Eunnam looked back to the conversation that she had with her grandfather and asked him if he’s not taking back what he said. The chairman told Eunnam that in return she must help Seonwoo in the future. The chairman told Eunnam that he’s putting her on board with Daesan Energy but under one condition which is to help Seonwoo grow with the company. The chairman also added that Director Seo also put in a strong recommendation to put Eunnam as one of the board members of Daesan energy.
Eunnam looked at Dongjoo, she was obviously moved by his actions and obviously what they had before were slowly coming back. Dongjoo nodded and acknowledged her. The chairman said that Eunnam also built a lot of hands on experience and so now it’s time to take on some responsibility as an executive.
Gukhui congratulated Eunnam and stood up to leave. Dongjoo or should I say director Seo was sitting down looking so poised and a gentleman name Munhan was introducing Director Seo Dongjoo to be the new appointed CEO of Daesan Energy. Eunnam was so happy to see the love of his life succeeding and he did it with his own merits, talent and hardwork. Apparently, 94.6 percent of the shareholders were in favor of Director Seo Dongjoo as the new CEO of Daesan Energy.
Everyone was clapping and congratulating him and I think I saw Taegum and Madam Pi there as well although Gukhui was miffed and Ms. Ji was concerned for some reason. Also, Deokhui didn’t look that happy either. Munhan the announcer was telling the audience that Director Seo will be saying a few words.
Seo Dongjoo announced himself as the newly appointed CEO of Daesan Energy. First thing that Dongjoo or should I say President Seo said was that he was thankful to the people who supported him to be appointed as the CEO of Daesan. Eunnam was so proud of him, she looked so happy and her eyes were sparkling like in episode one but there’s something different about her eyes cus in Episode one Eunnam’s eyes were full of lust but now it was being proud of him, understanding him and being content with peace of mind.
Dongjoo bowed on stage while everyone was clapping but a few people seemed to be a little sour about this whole thing and that was most certainly Gukhui although Ms. Ji and Deokhui wasn’t 100 percent either. Also, Seonwoo had a strange look on his face too for some reason. Eunnam, Chairman Cha, Vice Chairman Choi, Taeguem and Madam Pi were clapping enthusiastically with a huge smile on their faces. Taeyun was very happy for his brother instead of being jealous that he isn’t the one up there and Cha Seonwoo found this to be very strange. Eunnam’s face was saying that she’s so proud of her man the love of her life that she gave her soul and body to although when it came to actually helping Mr, Seo it was Myung Taegeum more than anybody else.
Then suddenly Dongjoo started talking about the former president of Daesan Huh Ildo and he was saying that Presiden Huh dedicated the last several years dedicating his life to strengthen the company for global competitiveness through sustainable management skills.
Taeyun was really paying attention to Dongjoo’s speech but it looked like he had mixed emotions and his mom Deokhui was observing her boy.
To build on this vision of sustainable management President Seo will be planning to increase investment in low carbon green innovation the direction that Daesan Energy is aiming for. Dongjoo also talked about business expansion for the company, going forward, they’ll be working closely with Daesan Group’s energy affiliates to align and strengthen their capabilities. Then Dongjoo said something that made Gukhui’s eyes huge and googly eyes once again like earlier.
Dongjoo talked about merging Daesan energy and Daesan chemical to launch a new entity called Daesan E AND C.
Gukhui wasn’t having it but the chairman knew that this was gonna happen but he still wanted to make Dongjoo the CEO for various reasons.
Dongjoo continued on with his speech by saying that they’ll boldly take every step necessary to help Daesan Group as a whole to grow into a leading global green energy company.
Gukhui was not liking what Dongjoo is saying and to be honest, is this drama a green energy propaganda? I hate to say it but I’m quite disappointed with the propaganda, I’m just watching it for Shikkie really, anyway moving on….
Eunnam was waiting for Dongjoo but he had to talk to Gukhui first cus she was super pissed. Gukhui said that she understands that it’s unavoidable to go on ahead with the merger but just going out all like that was too much for Gukhui to handle.
Gukhui was so pissed cus Dongjoo had the gall to bring up the whole merging thing publicly which she didn’t want. Dongjoo said that he did it that way because that would spark investor interest in the stock market around the merger potential. Dongjoo was thinking that by doing it this way it could lead to a more favorable merger ratio for Daesan chemical.
After hearing what Dongjoo said Gukhui couldn’t deny that Dongjoo’s idea wasn’t half bad announcing the merger deal so publicly.
Then Dongjoo mentioned something very important, he told Gukhui to just cut ties with outside forces like Mr. Yeom and help grow Daesan instead with her own merits instead of trying to take short cuts and use outside forces for her gain.
Gukhui was like what do you mean by outside forces? And then she went on to say that she never teamed up with Mr. Yeom. Eunnam was waiting for Dongjoo to finish up with Gukhui her aunt and as she was waiting she was looking at her phone and there was an internet article on Yeom Jang Seon saying that he’s been missing for a month now.
Eunnam decided to leave the premise and Dongjoo saw her leaving so he went to catch up with her. Eunnam congratulated Dongjoo for his promotion as the new CEO of Daesan Group. Eunnam got a promotion too, Dongjoo called her Director Yeo and he said Congrats, Director Yeo. Now they are President Seo and Director Yeo hehehe….
Eunnam thanked Dongjoo with a light smile but then she looked concerned though. Eunnam looked like she had something to say so Dongjoo asked her what she wanted to ask him. For some reason Eunnam looked scared when she asked him this, she asked him if Mr. Yeom is dead.
Dongjoo answered her and said that some think it’s a staged disappearance and the vice chairman Choi said that there are online posts saying that he might have been murdered since he had so many enemies and all.
Eunnam decided to be straight forward with Dongjoo and asked him if he killed Mr. Yeom and Dongjoo’s face looked so dark all of a sudden with that one question. Dongjoo wasn’t snapping out of it so Eunnam called his name to get his attention and Dongjoo was like, yeah what if I did kill him so what? Eunnam came closer to Dongjoo and held his hand then said good job to him which he probably didn’t expect. Eunnam said that she understands where he’s coming from and Mr. Yeom does have a lot of enemies but Dongjoo was on top of that list which makes sense since he killed both his mom and dad. Also, I could also understand Eunnam feeling that way since Yeom was the one who killed her father too.
Eunnam said that if anyone was gonna kill Yeom it should be Dongjoo since he did something terrible to Dongjoo ever since he was a child. Eunnam hugged Dongjoo and said that he did a good job with killing Mr. Yeom once and for all.
Chairman Cha and Ms. Ji were having tea and Ms. Ji told the chairman that he knew that she supported Gukhui instead of Dongjoo. Ms. Ji couldn’t help but to ask Chairman Cha why he took Dongjoo’s side instead of his own daughter. Then the chairman said that Gukhui tried to shine like a son in the sonless Cha family. Is the old Chairman a sexist? Or just super traditional? Hehehehe…
Chairman Cha added that Gukhui never had natural strength from the start anyway. So in the end her desperation shows and she makes it look super obvious to people. The chairman thought that Gukhui was too weak to look after Seonwoo down the line. The chairman admitted that part of it was his fault that Gukhui ended up this way because he always wanted a son after having Deokhui.
Ms. Ji said if the chairman took them in earlier then he would be more secure in Seonwoo unlike now then he would’ve been kinder to Deokhui and Gukhui too. The chairman agreed with what his wife was saying and then he went on about Deokhui saying she was so fierce that it was almost like walking on eggshells with her.
Ms. Ji and the chairman were having a little meeting talking about this and that and then Dongjoo showed up. Mr. Cha was saying that Dongjoo is the one who pushed him past his doubts about Deokhui.
Dongjoo told Chairman Cha that he was discussing about the merger with CEO Cha Gukhui. The three were talking about how Gukhui was upset about the whole thing. However, Dongjoo managed Gukhui to promise to continue the conversation.
Ms. Ji congratulated Dongjoo but she still called him Director Seo and then the Chairman was like, no he is President Seo now then Ms. Ji corrected herself and called him President Seo. Ms. Ji asked Dongjoo to guide her well. Ms. Ji added that when the chairman passes away it will be just her and Seonwoo so that’s why she would need Dongjoo’s help and guidance every step of the way. Besides, Ms. Ji seems to be pretty ambitious too because she doesn’t just want to be a clueless shareholder who just inherited the shares/stocks of Daesan.
Ms. Ji said that Seonwoo is still very young so she needs to be able to guide him and that’s why she wants to be the strongest support he has. Then Ms. Ji reminded Dongjoo that is the reason why he encouraged her to marry Chairman Cha so actively.
Seonwoo was all dressed up nicely and came over to Chairman Cha’s office too and he didn’t even address him formally by calling him Director Seo or President Seo but he just called him Dongjoo hyung. Seonwoo was bragging that he was just looking around the building and even hitting the restricted areas but they let him in once he said that he’s the chairman’s son. The chairman was delighted to hear what Seonwoo was saying because he was a firm believer of truly handing over the company to a Cha the way it’s supposed to be.
Seonwoo sat right next to Dongjoo and then all of a sudden asked him if the secret vault they mentioned on the news is real in front of the chairman and his wife. Seonwoo continues on to say that the Daesan Group officials say that there’s no such thing like that. Even though some people say that there’s no such thing as the secret vault but he does think that it exists. Seonwoo thinks that it would be so cool if it really existed then the chairman started to laugh.
The chairman was laughing because he was so proud that Seonwoo keeps up with everything regarding the company and he was so delighted that he was telling his young wife about it. The chairman told Dongjoo to show Seonwoo where the secret vault is but Dongjoo looked pretty reluctant about it.
It was obvious that Dongjoo was reluctant by his body language and facial expressions but he had no other choice but to show Seonwoo the vault. Ms. Ji had an ambitious look on her face as if she wants to live like a powerful woman through Seonwoo although Seonwoo himself looked innocent like a child.
It’s funny how Seonwoo doesn’t address Dongjoo formally, it sounded kinda disrespectful to me. Dongjoo showed Seonwoo the outer part of the secret vault but then Seonwoo wanted to see more. Seonwoo was constantly demanding Dongjoo to open it and he wouldn’t so Seonwoo was telling his father that he wanted to see inside of the vault like a spoiled little kid. The chairman told Dongjoo to give him a peek. Now that Yeom isn’t around it seems like real family feud is happening in the last episode.
The chairman wanted Dongjoo to open it and give Seonwoo a peek of the secret vault but he doesn’t have to let him go inside of it. Dongjoo opened it and let Seonwoo take a peek and he was obviously mesmerized by it. Seonwoo was like, wow that’s all money? Seonwoo was acting like a little kid at a toy store but Dongjoo stopped him when he was about to go inside and Dongjoo’s eyes turned cold again.
Dongjoo told Seonwoo that he’ll get it when the time is right but then Seonwoo’s eyes seemed like he had a lot of ambition too while acting fascinated by everything like a small child. Dongjoo shoved one of the boxes with a bag from the fast food restaurant all the way in the back though.
Seonwoo had an evil smirk on his face while Dongjoo looked a bit concerned with the chairman’s son and of course Ms. Ji was super proud of her son and the chairman was not only proud but delighted that his own son with the last name Cha would be able to get all of it one day.
Then Seonwoo asked Dongjoo when he’ll be able to get the password to the secret vault and Ms. Ji said that he should just ask his father since he’ll be the one to tell him. Seonwoo is really annoying me now, he used to be this innocent baker guy but he seems to want the whole company to himself when he isn’t even ready to run the darn thing.
Mr. Cha was happy to give Daesan to his own son but he said that Seonwoo isn’t ready to run Daesan yet so when he is ready to do that then he’ll just get the password to the secret vault naturally then Chairman Cha had a serious look on his face and looked at Dongjoo right in the eyes then asked him if he’s gonna help Seonwoo into a truly capable person to run Daesan himself.
Dongjoo just kinda looked at Seonwoo then looked back at the chairman saying that he will do just that. However, Dongjoo looked like he was out of it, he looked depressed even though he’s the CEO and got rid of Yeom but then he is still fighting in a way. I guess Dongjoo feels the pressure of being the CEO but he would be baby sitting Seonwoo a lot while semi running the company along with the chairman and vice chairman.
The chairman was pleased that Dongjoo was willing to help out Seonwoo to become truly successful but Ms. Ji seemed untrusting for some reason.
Meanwhile, Taeyun looked depressed and that’s why he was up there drinking alcohol thinking back to what his mother was telling him. Taeyun couldn’t help but to think about what his mother said to him the other day when she said she’s gonna be backing Director Seo instead of him. It’s so crazy when Taeyun actually really likes Dongjoo and besides he found out recently that he is his brother too.
Taeyun and his mother had a talk the other day and his mother told him that she’s gonna be backing Director Seo as the new CEO at the shareholders meeting. Deokhui said that she would need Taeyun’s support for her to do that though. Taeyun was confused cus he thought she was backing Aunt Gukhui. Deokhui said that Taeyun her son means more to her than her sister. Deokhui said she would do anything for Taeyun because he is all she has now.
Deokhui told Taeyun not to back down and let Cha Seonwoo intimidate him in any way shape or form. Taeyun was deep in thought thinking about the talk he had with his mother and Eunnam came and interrupted him by saying that she hardly goes over to this particular spot to think like she used to.
Eunnam said to her brother Taeyun that she stopped coming to this place after President Huh chewing him out for pushing him back when they were still little children. So, Taeyun asked her if she really did push him back then. Eunnam said she probably wanted to deep inside. Eunnam was jealous of Taeyun because their mom, President Huh, grandfather and even secretary Gong all adored him.
According to Eunnam they were all fussing over Taeyun by saying, oh, our precious son and things like that. Eunnam asked Taeyun if he would still be alive if she actually pushed him down from up where they’re at right now. Eunnam said that she never pushed Taeyun which he seemed to be aware of fortunately. Eunnam was curious to why Taeyun remembered as if she actually pushed him down from up there.
Taeyun told his sister that he heard her say, “You killed dad, mom!” when they were little kids. “You planned it with President Huh, mom!” Taeyun continued on by telling her what else she said that night when they were still children. Taeyun wasn’t sure if he was remembering it right and she said he’s right about his memory about what she said that night.
Eunnam confessed that she misunderstood the actual truth and twisted what she heard when she was little. Eunnam said that whenever their mom scolded her she said that particular thing to win an argument. It was cold so Eunnam went back inside the house while Taeyun stayed out for a little bit longer.
Taeyun had a little too much to drink and he lost balance that he almost fell but luckily Seonwoo came and saved the day because he helped him regain his balance and helped him back up.
But it turns out that Taeyun lost his balance because Seonwoo was the one who pushed him as a joke but it scared him because he almost fell so that’s why he helped him back up. Seonwoo was chuckling and he said to Taeyun that he should work on those legs more so he would be able to keep good balance when things like this happen.
Bae Wonbae/Jang Ilnam was back, he looked clean cut and like a normal guy unlike before and he thanked Dongjoo for coming along for the ride when he didn’t have to. Dongjoo said that he came because he had some stuff to take care of as well. Dongjoo wanted to help Bae for dealing with what the hospital did to frame him and Dongjoo said he wanted to help him as if it was his own case.
Dongjoo was curious to who recommended the place and Bae said it was Dr. Park who treated them. Dr. Park recommended the firm to Bae because it has a good track record with medical lawsuits. According to Dr. Park they are a small firm but is good at what they do. Dongjoo said that he is in good hands if the picky doctor like Dr. Park vouched for them.
Bae was wondering why nobody was coming but a familiar face showed up and it was Yeom Huicheol and Dongjoo was like don’t tell me it’s this bastard…. It was strange seeing Yeom Huicheol again because he looked so different and I think it’s his slightly wavy hair. Bae asked Dongjoo if he knew the guy in a surprised voice.
It was Yeom Huicheol and he introduced himself saying that he is attorney Yeom Huicheol representing a small law firm called Soyul. And Bae introduced himself as Bae Wonabe and I’m guessing he is using his actual name instead of his alias Jang Ilnam?
Huilcheol was looking through the paperwork and then he looked up at Dongjoo and called him punk like the old times then asked him if he’s going to leave. Dongjoo with his old attitude towards Hui Cheol saying that he is there as a client. Dongjoo said to Huicheol that if he has a problem with him being there then he should leave. Huicheol just laughs but he goes back to what he’s actually there for which was to talk with Mr. Bae.
Yeom Huicheik said that he is confident with Mr. Bae’s case but he can’t work properly with Dongjoo being there in the same room with them. Dongjoo was saying that he is being petty till the very end. Dongjoo decided to excuse himself to let Huicheol work in helping his friend out.
Huicheol was trying to give Dongjoo his card but President Seo told him to take it and just shove it up his ass basically. Mr. Bae couldn’t understand why Dongjoo was being that way though cus he doesn’t know the history between Dongjoo and Huicheol that goes all the way back to their high school years.
Dongjoo was heading out but then Huicheol called him like usual, Hey punk and stopped him. Dongjoo was like, why are you stopping me? You told me to leave so I am….
Huicheol stopped Dongjoo to talk about his uncle saying that Chief Cheon Guho said something about him but he had a hard time continuing what he was going to say so he said nevermind to it. Huicheol wanted to ask Dongjoo some questions but he didn’t want to because he knew that he was just gonna throw a fit and give him a bad attitude.
Huicheol decided to just let him be and leave but Dongjoo cut him off by asking him about Professor Yeom Chiseon which is his father. Dongjoo told Huicheol that a long time ago back in high school when he got kicked out, Huicheol’s father said it was mutual assault so they should get punished equally. So that’s why Dongjoo thinks about Huicheol’s dad from time to time because what he said had a lasting impression on him.
Dongjoo said if Uncle Yeom didn’t step in and just let his father handle it then Huicheol wouldn’t have turned out to be a pathetic loser. What Dongjoo said to Huicheol made him lose his temper so he wanted to just smack the heck out of him but he didn’t do that.
Huicheol told Dongjoo to not follow Mr. Bae around because seeing his face ruins his luck for the next ten years which he doesn’t want in his life. I can understand where he is coming from because he probably really does feel like a loser cus he lost to him in high school in the rugby team and also lost his girl because she was crazy about his rival to the point where that’s all she thought about throughout their short little contract marriage that they had.
Mr. Bae was done talking to Huicheol and he was driving the car and Dongjoo was in the passengers seat. Mr. Bae was saying that the moment they meet they curse at each other which he found pretty interesting. Dongjoo then sarcastically said that they are committed to insulting each other. Bae couldn’t help but to smile then Dongjoo said that Huicheol is always eager to one up him. However, Dongjoo trusted in Huicheol to get Bae Wonbae in the clear.
Bae agreed with Dongjoo by saying that Huicheol did seem calm and competent though. Bae asked Dongjoo if he wanted to be dropped off at the office but he said that he wanted to take a day off to have a meal with Bae. Then suddenly Bae asked Dongjoo if the disappearance of Yeom Jang Seon was his doing or not.
Dongjoo came over to the chairman’s office ready to start his day and Eunnam showed up because she wanted to report on Daesan Energy purchase. For some reason Dongjoo’s face looked so darn gloomy though. Dongjoo was there to see the chairman to give him an update on the merger progress.
Eunnam said that he called her earlier, scolding her about her report being late. Then Eunnam asked where he went to. As the two were coming out they ran into one of the assistants and he told them that the chairman said that he had to go somewhere and the assistant added that he drove himself instead of using his professional driver to take him wherever he needed to go.
Dongjoo had a feeling that he went to a particular place so he told Eunnam that he might know where he went to so they should go together to look for him there. Eunnam thought that it might be faster to track down the chairman by calling the police for this. Dongjoo said if they drove fast enough they might be able to catch up to the chairman soon enough.
Eunnam thought it was pretty crazy to even think about her grandfather driving himself anywhere cus he never did that all throughout her life being around her grandfather Cha. Eunnam still insisted that it would be faster for them to call the police to track down her grandfather’s car cus it would be faster and more efficient instead of them trying to track him down themselves.
Eunnam spotted her grandfather’s car up ahead but Dongjoo said they shouldn’t ruin it for her grandpa cus most likely he might be in the best mood right now. Dongjoo and Eunnam got closer to Chairman Cha’s car and Eunnam was so surprised that the old man was able to drive so well. Chairman Cha even had sunglasses on looking hipper than usual which surprised the young woman.
Dongjoo said that Grandpa Cha is excited but Eunnam was in disbelief cus she’s never seen her grandpa act that excited before. Grandpa Cha went into a cafe and both Dongjoo and Eunnam followed him in but the old chairman Cha had no idea that his grandaughter and President Seo were following him.
Dongjoo and Eunnam found some seats in the corner then Eunnam asked Dongjoo if her grandpa always drove over here by himself and Dongjoo nodded. Dongjoo most certainly knew more about the old man than his own granddaughter but that makes sense since Dongjoo served the old man Cha for quite a long time as the director.
Dongjoo told Eunnam that when he came to this cafe with the chairman the old man would never let him drive for some odd reason. Eunnam asked Dongjoo how long he is willing to wait and he said that until Seonwoo walks out with the bread he just baked. Dongjoo also added that the chairman waits until Ms. Ji acts like she doesn’t know the chairman. The Chairman was acting strange because why does he even need to go to that bakery when Seonwoo and Ms. Ji aren’t there anymore…..Is his dementia finally getting worse?
Chairman Cha was looking around and so was Eunnam but their eyes met and Eunnam quickly turned around and pretended that she didn’t see her old grandpa Cha. Eunnam said that grandfather saw them and Dongjoo turned around and looked at the old man and got caught too so he was making faces for being caught by Chairman Cha. Dongjoo was like oh crap, we locked eyes!
Chairman Cha was looking around not knowing what’s happening and he looked really frustrated too. The old man ordered some bread but he looked too frustrated to eat them. The chairman’s face looked like, What the heck am I doing here? That’s the kind of look or facial expression he had on his silly old face.
Chairman Cha patted Dongjoo on the back and he said, Hey Director Seo, you can drive now…It’s so funny that the chairman called Dongjoo director instead of president. The chairman gave Dongjoo the car keys then before heading out he told Dongjoo to take care of the bill for everything.
The news anchor said that it’s been a year since Yeom Jang Seon went missing. The news anchor continued on and said that according to the police the family wrote a petition and this led to the reward being tripled. There are still rumors about Yeom’s disappearance being either staged or real.
According to the news anchor interest in this particular case has faded over the past year. Prompting the family to raise reward in hopes of finding him. Last December, Professor Yeom Jang Seon was indicted for instigating murder but the court rejected the arrest warrant citing no clear risk of evidence tempering or flight. But the dismissal of the warrant……
Gukhui and Eunnam came to see Director I mean President Seo and he wasn’t their yet still waiting for him. Gukhui got there before Eunnam and before Eunnam got there Gukhui looked at a small bag with the burger on it and was wondering what it was.
Both ladies heard the sound of the vault clicking and they knew that it was Dongjoo. OMG! DONGJOO LOOKS SO HOT AS PRESIDENT ALTHOUGH HE LOOKED HOT AS THE DIRECTOR TOO BUT MAN HIS NEW LOOK WITH HIS HAIR SLICKED BACK IS SO WILD! I WISH HE CAN HIRE ME, I WOULD LOVE TO BE HIS PERSONAL ASSISTANT!
Dongjoo was asking Gukhui if the Daesan Vault R&D team was fully staffed yet and Gukhui said she is still adjusting salary offers. And Eunnam added by saying that they were able to get the attendee list for the Yuseong chemical merger hearing.
Dongjoo was saying that they are not doing this with any political interference like Mr. Yeom so it would take time to do things properly. Eunnam encouraged Dongjoo that they would need patience to see it through. Dongjoo was saying that ever since Gukhui became the CEO of Daesan Volt, her expression during meetings with him has improved. Gukhui said that she might be in a better mood now that Daesan Volt might go public.
Dongjoo asked Gukhui if she has given up on pushing him out and taking over as CEO of DAESAN E&C. Gukhui couldn’t hide her ambition and said that she is gunning for it every minute and even every second of her life. Gukhui said she was waiting for President Seo to slip one day and that made Dongjoo chuckle. I love the way Hyungsik smiles no matter what character he plays.
Meanwhile, Mr. Yeom’s wife gave Chief Cheon his last pay and told him that he is dismissed from the position as secretary and body guard for Mr. Yeom. Ms. Yeom told Chief Cheon that she included a generous severance and retirement package. Chief Cheon Guho looked sad and devastated but it’s understandable since he’s been working for the man for so long.
Ms. Yeom was telling Guho that even after Mr. Yeom returns he wouldn’t hold it against him for whatever happened to him. It’s been a year now but Guho doesn’t want to give up on searching for Mr. Yeom so he was trying to persuade the lady to not give up on looking for Mr. Yeom or rather Professor Yeom.
Then Ms. Yeom was trying to have Guho give up on searching for Mr. Yeom by saying that people like him who live past a certain point, it’s just borrowed time by then. Ms. Yeom thinks that Professor Yeom basically overstayed his welcome. Guho asked why Mr. Yeom’s wife raised the reward on finding Mr. Yeom which he couldn’t quite understand her intentions behind it all. Ms. Yeom said she did that cus people are still watching and also people need to know that his family is still waiting for him despite what he has done.
Ms. Yeom was saying that if Professor Yeom is still alive somewhere and seeing that the reward go up might just give him the will to return home.
Ms. Yeom called Dongjoo over to the house and fed him a nice home cooked meal and oddly enough Dongjoo was sitting where Mr. Yeom used to sit for his meals. Ms. Yeom told Dongjoo that she will never ask him to come by again after this. Professor Yeom’s wife invited Dongjoo over to the house because she wanted to feed him at least once. Ms. Yeom thanked Dongjoo for eating the food she made so well just like how he used to as a child.
Ms. Yeom was saying that Dongjoo used to love pollack soup just like a grown up when he was a small child. Dongjoo was like, oh did I now? Maybe I did like it….because I had it here before when I was a child and that’s what Dongjoo said to Professor Yeom’s wife.
Ms. Yeom made a confession to Dongjoo saying that she didn’t ignore Dongjoo for all these years because Professor Yeom told her to. Ms. Yeom thought that it would be better for her to just let him be when she heard that Dongjoo was raised by his sister who was a nun. Ms. Yeom thought that it would be better to just let things be instead of stirring things up by acting familiar which can possibly lead into a lot of unnecessary headache.
Ms. Yeom said that there was some training going on and there was nobody to watch the kid so that’s why Professor Yeom brought him and his mom over to their house back then. Ms. Yeom continued on and said that Dongjoo loved the traditional Korean Hanok home when he was little too.
Dongjoo told lady Yeom that even seeing the house as an adult he loved it. I love the interaction between Ms. Yeom and Dongjoo even if Mr. Yeom did some terrible things to Dongjoo through out his whole life but he is still able to sit down and have a meal that Mr. Yeom’s wife made just for him.
Dongjoo told Ms. Yeom that he’d go see his dad once his mom came back. Dongjoo always wondered if his dad would recognize him, what he’d look like and what he did for a living. According to Ms. Yeom Dongjoo also wondered what candy he liked, and he wanted to play games with his dad while making up answers too.
Lady Yeom said that she’d never imagined that it would take this long for Dongjoo to finally meet his father. Dongjoo just lightly smiled at Ms. Yeom and headed out but midway Cheon Guho looked at Dongjoo with those eyes. Mr. Cheon had a box full of his stuff because he got dismissed from his job since Mr. Yeom isn’t there anymore and probably Cheon has some sort of animosity towards Dongjoo because he thinks that that he got canned cus of Dongjoo in some sort of way.
Guho looked at Dongjoo with his fierce eyes and his eyes were pretty much saying, this is all your fault….Dongjoo just shook it off and walked over to Mr. Yeom’s room with the long table with the aquarium.
Dongjoo looked at the aquarium and thought about the conversation he had with Mr. Yeom in front of the aquarium. Jang Seon told Dongjoo in front of the aquarium that in the end, he is just another goldfish eagerly opening its mouth, desperate for every scrap of food tossed its way. No matter how high you climb the best you can hope for is being the first in line to get fed. And that’s where your story ends….
Dongjoo was thinking back to the time when he was feeding the fishes in the aquarium while Yeom was standing right next to him. Dongjoo was standing in front of the aquarium deep in thought thinking about what Mr. Yeom said to him and he was so deep in thought that he didn’t even notice Ms. Yeom coming into the room although he did snap out of it the moment Ms. Yeom called his name.
Ms. Yeom was getting the tea ready saying that it’s the last of it but they didn’t stock up since they are moving very soon. Ms. Yeom and Dongjoo took a seat so they can talk some more. Ms. Yeom was telling Dongjoo that she is turning the fancy home into a kindergarten and she’s gonna call it “Kindergarten Overflow”
Dongjoo then said a kindergarten overflowing with clear water. Ms. Yeom said that their Hanok house was the brightest when Seonghyeon was running around here so she wants to fill up the place with more children than before. Ms. Yeom finally handed over a photo that Dongjoo was supposed to have in the first place.
Ms. Yeom gave Dongjoo a picture of her and Dongjoo when he was just a child. Ms. Yeom said the day that they took that particular photo he held his mom’s hand and said, “Let’s come back here tomorrow.”
Ms. Yeom said that she remembered that day so vividly as if it’s happening right in front of her once again. Ms. Yeom asked Dongjoo if he remembers his mom at all and of course the answer was no.
Ms. Yeom called Dongjoo Seonghyeon then she corrected herself and called him Director Seo although he is more like President Seo now. Ms. Yeom told Dongjoo that his mother cherished and treasured him although it may not seem like it on the surface.
Ms. Yeom said that she wants to tell Dongjoo everything she saw and heard but unfortunately there’s no time to tell him everything right now. However, there is one thing that Ms. Yeom wanted Dongjoo to remember that when his mother was raising him alone, she was desperate for money and because of that she almost took the wrong path. However, she thought of Dongjoo, she caught herself and declined the offer even if it was tempting.
Ms. Yeom was saying that Dongjoo should take pride in the fact that he had a mother with dignity like that. Ms. Yeom said that Dongjoo should remember what she told him about his mother when life gets hard. And she said even when things get tough, keep at it, Director Seo. I guess Ms. Yeom is so used to calling him director Seo even if he is President Seo now. Dongjoo nodded with a soft and serene smile and said yes to what Ms. Yeom just told him to do.
Dongjoo came back to Daesan after meeting with Mr. Yeom’s wife at the beautiful Korean style Hanok house and as soon as he got to the office he went straight over to the secret vault to put a bag with the hamburger logo on it then once the vault door was shut someone from the inside came out of nowhere and grabbed the bag and it looked like Yeom with longer grey hair and grey facial hair too.
Mr. Yeom was living inside of the vault and it was like a tiny little bedroom in there. At first I thought Dongjoo had something really important hidden in those bags with the hamburger logo but it was food inside of those bags. Dongjoo was buying burgers for Mr. Yeom and this kinda reminded me of the movie Old Boy where some dude was living off of dumplings for years and years and years.
Mr. Yeom was living off of hamburgers instead of drinking his expensive wines and eating a good home cooked meal made by his wife but he was literally surrounded by 100 dollar bills and gold bars. Mr. Yeom was so bored that he folded and twisted the 100 dollar bills too.
Mr. Yeom couldn’t escape because his feet were chained up. Professor Yeom was so bored that he also wrote stuff on the boxes with money and gold bars.
I guess after Dongjoo zapped Mr. Yeom with a tool he brought him over to the inner vault and then tied up his feet so he wouldn’t move. Mr. Yeom was out cold for quite a while and Dongjoo started a timer on his phone and timing it and when it went off he would wake from his long nap. Dongjoo was surprised that Professor Yeom woke up earlier than he expected which was a surprise.
The moment Mr. Yeom woke up completely he called Dongjoo a bastard and was ready to attack him but he couldn’t cus his legs were cuffed with metal chains. Dongjoo told Professor Yeom that there’s a bathroom behind the curtain and he told him to make a good use of it cus it took quite a while to install that darn thing. Dongjoo said that Mr. Yeom will be getting burgers for every meal and occasionally he’ll get him some fruits too. Dongjoo told Mr. Yeom that for water he will be using tap water from the sink. Dongjoo was nice enough to install a pull up bar so he can stay in shape.
Dongjoo warned Mr. Yeom that the temperature and humidity are kept constant so it might feel a little cold in there. Dongjoo told Yeom that he recommends him to take a jacket to keep himself warm prepared in the bathroom.
Mr. Yeom called Dongjoo a crazy bastard and asked him what he’s trying to do. Dongjoo said what he’s doing is locking him up inside the Daesan vault. Dongjoo said Yeom gave him the chance earlier so he planned this whole thing. Dongjoo felt the urgency to act sooner than later.
Mr. Yeom didn’t understand Dongjoo’s intent to lock him up like this. Mr. Yeom wanted to know what Dongjoo’s planning to do with him exactly. Mr. Yeom was desperately screaming and demanding Dongjoo to tell him what he’s planning to do and what he wants from him.
Dongjoo was sitting on a chair with something on a huge table and he kept on looking at his watch as if he is waiting for someone or something. Dongjoo was looking at his watch because he goes and visits Yeom at a certain time on the dot. The bag that Dongjoo had was a pair of Korean traditional dress Hanbok and he was telling the old Yeom that he was recently invited to the HOUSE OF OVERFLOW for a meal run by Ms. Yeom, Professor Yeom’s wife.
Dongjoo said that being there at the House of Overflow reminded him of the Hanbok he used to wear so he decided to buy one for him. Mr. Yeom was so out ot if that he made a paper airplane and threw it at Dongjoo. Mr. Yeom knew that Dongjooo met with his wife and he was telling Mr. Yeom everything about the meeting. Mr. Yeom addressed President Seo by his full name and asked him if he plans to keep him locked up inside the vault until he dies. Mr. Yeom just wanted Dongjoo to tell him exactly what he wanted.
Dongjoo said that when he was laying in bed there was a thought that hit him all of a sudden. Dongjoo is the only one who knows the code to the vault so if he dies then Yeom Jang Seon would not rot away in the vault and die as a mummified corpse. Mr. Yeom asked Dongjoo if that is what he wanted then Dongjoo said that wouldn’t be the case cus if he truly wanted that then he wouldn’t bring him burgers every single day.
Professor Yeom sighed deeply and asked what Dongjoo really wanted and Dongjoo replied he wouldn’t be ready to hear the answer just yet until he begged a little more desperately. Dongjoo was willing to wait until Mr. Yeom begs him some more in a desperate fashion. I think Dongjoo is torturing him because he felt all the torture in his life ever since he was a child because of this trashy old man. It makes sense since this show is a revenge tale anyway.
Mr. Yeom asked Dongjoo if what he wants is the money because a while back he told him that his life isn’t even worth the kill.
Mr. Yeom brought up the past when Dongjoo got waterboarded in that one tall building in the city. Mr. Yeom said he’ll give it to him if he just lets him go. Mr. Yeom said he has done his time and one year is plenty so he wants Dongjoo to let him go.
Dongjoo just ignored him and he was on his way out of the vault and Mr. Yeom grabbed him by the shoulder and stopped him then asked what he wants and yes the old man started to sound more desperate this time around. Mr. Yeom asked Dongjoo how much he wants for letting him out and the younger man told the older man he wants everything. Mr. Yeom was like what? You want everything? Everything of what?
Dongjoo then told Mr. Yeom that he wanted his entire fortune. Mr. Yeom was like, you are really pushing it now.
Dongjoo was thinking back to what he said to Mr. Bae while they were out in the ocean. Dongjoo was telling Wonbae that the guy he was saving shot him and Bae was like if he is the one who really shot you then you should just let him drown. Bae asked why Dongjoo was saving the man who tried to shoot him with a gun. And Dongjoo told Bae that he saved the guy who shot him for revenge.
Dongjoo said to Mr. Yeom that in that brief moment his goal to get revenge became clearer than ever before since he was out in that ocean with Bae and it hasn’t changed since then.
Dongjoo was determined to let Yeom Jang Seon know that his goal is to take everything that Huh Ildo and Yeom Jang Seon ever had, down to the last piece then Yeom said that he would rather bite his tongue and die than hand everything over to him and if he does that then Seo Dongjoo won’t be able to walk out with anything, he’ll be empty handed.
Dongjoo gave Mr. Yeom his intimidating look and said that his idea doesn’t sound all that bad either. Dongjoo said that he better pray that he doesn’t die in an accident of some kind so there will be someone that brings him burgers everyday, if he doesn’t want to starve to death that is. Mr. Yeom was grinding his teeth and was saying that Dongjoo was the cruelest and most viscous bastard he’s ever met in his entire life.
Dongjoo just scoffed and sneered at Mr. Yeom and was walking out of the vault and Mr. Yeom was like HEY! Dongjoo wasn’t quite out of the vault yet so Mr. Yeom said what he wanted to say. Dongjoo was standing there and Mr. Yeom said softly that he wants to just die at home instead of going through this torture. Mr. Yeom looked pretty desperate and he practically begged Dongjoo asking him what he has to do to be able to just die at home instead of being locked up inside the vault.
Dongjoo decided to reach out to Mr. Elder and the elder was wondering why Dongjoo decided to contact him first out of the blue. Dongjoo told the elder that now he won’t be able to hand over a single penny from the national patriotism fund then the elder asked him if he plans to keep the two trillion won for himself and Dongjoo said yes to the elder’s question.
Dongjoo said he’ll put it to use for something far more noble than serving him. Some woman got out of the car and said that he had your crimes and those of everyone connected to you. It was neatly organized. The woman who got out of the car was assemblywoman Seok Sookyung and she was shocked to see what she saw in the trunk. The person she was talking to told her that he hacked the computer and handed it over to someone else.
THE FILES WERE CALLED THE NATIONAL PATRIOTISM FUND TRANSACTION AND HISTORY.
The elder seemed irritated and called Jang Seon a bastard for creating a situation like this and Dongjoo said that if the elder decides to threaten him or Daesan Group then his corruption will be exposed to the entire world. The elder didn’t know what to say after that, he looked like a guy that just got punched in the face out of nowhere.
Dongjoo wanted to ask the elder an important question and he said that the elder strikes him as a person that would serve the people with sincerity and not with money so he was wondering what happened to him that he ended up like this.
For some reason Buried Hearts love doing fade outs, like when it goes to a different scene it goes all black or something, I wonder if this is a trend in Kdramas or just dramas in general…….I wouldn’t know since I don’t really watch a lot of Kdramas like I used to…Heck, I don’t even watch most shows theses days cus they irritate the heck out of me but the only reason I ended up watching a show like this even though the storyline isn’t really my style is because of Shikkie since I’ve been his fangirl for over two years. If this show had another actor playing Seo Dongjoo, I wouldn’t even give it a chance. Hyungsik literally carries the whole damn show, and this goes to show that Hyungsik is becoming an Artist……I think he always was though! I love this man! PARK HYUNGSIK, MARRY ME OPPA! HEHEHEHE….
Meanwhile, Taegeum was saying that she handed over everything to the Jaeil Real Estate Trust. According to Taegeum, all the properties that Yeom Jang Seon donated were handed over and even the sales, leases and even mortgage loans.
Taegeum was saying that they’ll handle each one in the most reasonable way possible. Bae was sitting right next to Taegeum and was showing her the paper that was signed by Yeom Jang Seon. Man, Bae changing his hair like a shape shifter really is a running gag in this show…..Bae not only changed hair style but also his fashion too.
Taegeum was asking Dongjoo how to get Yeom Jang Seon to sign over his entire fortune then Dongjoo had to go so they hung up the phone. Taegum wanted to talk more about it in detail but Dongjoo wasn’t up to that though. Wonbae felt bad that he asked about it now.
Dongjoo was in his room and he was looking around. There was the painting that Eunnam drew, packed up bags, his father’s ashes and he opened an empty drawer with some keys.
Yeom woke up and realized that he wasn’t chained up anymore and he seemed so happy that he was free. Mr. Yeom was looking around and looked at himself in the mirror then once he realized that he was able to walk freely without them shackles, he practically ran out of the vault.
Mr. Yeom was so happy that he was a free man but once he got out of the inner vault and outer vault he discovered the wooden name tag saying President Seo Dongjoo instead of Director Seo Dongjoo. When Mr. Yeom found out about what happened while he was locked up, he was in for a rude awakening. Dongjoo was sitting on the stairs and slowly came back down.
Dongjoo was sitting on his desk and even though he’s the CEO/PRESIDENT but he didn’t look all that happy, he looked gloomy more than anything else. Dongjoo looked so empty and hollow inside that he was all teary eyed. Dongjoo was breathing heavily and choking and it looked like he was about to weep any minute now.
Mr. Yeom was able to be mobile again so he took a cab over to his old house but it was turned into a kindergarten. There were workers coming out with a whole bunch of children and the women working there, the kindergarten teachers were putting the children on the bus safely.
Mr. Yeom was in for a rude awakening, and he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. The cab guy was waiting for the cab fair and I guess he thought he could just go inside of the house and get the money and come right back out to give the cab driver the fare but everything has changed ever since he’s been locked up for a year.
The cab driver was annoyed and he asked Mr. Yeom if he’s a beggar/hobo or something. Mr. Yeom couldn’t believe that someone thought he was a beggar and that ruined him on the inside so much that he told him that he’s the great Yeom Jang Seon.
Meanwhile, at Daesan, Taeyun was all dressed up and came to see Dongjoo at his CEO office but obviously Dongjoo was crying for a while since he was all teary eyed since the afternoon.
Taeyun was asking if Dongjoo is doing okay but he looked unwell and Dongjoo said that it’s because he is tired and exhausted. Taeyun dropped by because he wanted to discuss something with him since he’s been working at Daesan Volt for half a year now. Taeyun came to let Dongjoo know that it’s not the right fit for him and Dongjoo was able to understand his sentiment. Dongjoo encouraged Taeyun to hang in there for their father’s sake because when Mr. Huh was alive he always wanted Taeyun to become someone great in Daesan. Fortunately, Dongjoo told Taeyun that if he hung in there and it still isn’t for him then he’ll let him go which he will fully support.
Taeyun smiled really big and his big fat smile reminded me of him as Bada in Dr. Slump since the character that Yoon played here in Buried Hearts he hardly smiled like his previous show in Dr. Slump.
Taeyun got a call from Chairman Cha his grandfather while he was having a conversation with President Seo. Chairman Cha called Taeyun because he wasn’t able to reache Dongjoo but Dongjoo said that he’ll get in touch with Chairman Cha later. Dongjoo was surprised that his grandpa recognized him and according to Taeyun, sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn’t. Taeyun said that the grandfather wanted Taeyun to bring Dongjoo over to the house. People in the Cha household wasn’t eating because the Chairman told everyone that he’s not gonna eat until Dongjoo comes over according to secretary Gong.
Chairman Cha remembered Dongjoo and even addressed him as President Seo and he told him to have a seat for dinner. Then Chairman Cha was looking at Taeyun and was like, so you are Taeyun and your father is Huh Ildo, right? This bothered Deokhui a bit because he always remembers Dongjoo but he goes back and forth with his own child and even her dead husband. Chairman Cha was like my dear Deokhui is your mother, isn’t that right Taeyun?
Ms. Ji was telling the Chairman that he remembered her today and praised him for doing a good job and this goes to show that he really does go back and forth when it comes to remembering people but then he always seems to be remembering who President Seo is even when he forgets about everybody else.
Deokhui reminded the chairman that Taeyun is working at Daesan Volt now and he was like that’s a good thing Taeyun is working at Daesan Volt under his tough daughter and Taeyun’s tough aunt Gukhui. Deokhui then interrupted her father and said he remembered Gukhui today and this is an indicator that he didn’t remember most of the people in his family.
Chairman Cha’s son Cha Seonwoo asked him if the old man remembers him and he said that Seonwoo is the eldest grandson of Cha Daebok of Daesan group and he is his own son as well which made Seonwoo smile. Taeyun smiled lightly but he seemed to be bothered that it was obvious that Chairman Cha remembers President Seo and Cha Seonwoo no matter what but his grandfather goes back and forth with him. Dongjoo was looking around and feeling bad about this and I think he is understanding why Daesan Volt isn’t for Taeyun.
Chairman Cha ordered Chef Do to bring President Seo a new soup since most likely it has gotten cold because of him.
Secretary Gong, Chef Do and his wife were eating a plate of fruit then Dongjoo came over. Secretary Gong asked Dongjoo if the chairman scolded him for not having a tie on. Dongjoo acknowledged that he was rushing out so fast that he didn’t even realized he didn’t have a tie on until he was already out the door on his way over to the chairman’s house.
Secretary Gong gave him a tie to wear so he won’t be scolded by the old chairman. Chef Do and his wife told Dongjoo that Secretary Gong is so sharp for grabbing a tie cus she noticed him without one the moment she saw him come into the house. Chef Do was saying that when he opens his own restaurant he is gonna get into a habit of wearing a tie there too. Chef Do said wearing a tie is like honoring the chairman that he served for years who gave him an opportunity despite the fact that he’s a North Korean defector.
Dongjoo was smiling and saying to Secretary Gong that hemight be wanting a raise for talking like that and Chef Do was like, when did I say that?!
Secretary Gong was saying that the chairman always recognizes Chef Do but the chairman goes back and forth on remembering her and also Chef Do’s wife. Secretary Gong said Chairman Cha always remembering Chef Do is a good enough reason to give them a raise while letting out a slight bitter smile about it. Chef Do and his wife were so happy about getting approved of a raise and Secretary Gong let out a normal smile now.
Taeyun decided to have a private talk with his mom Deokhui and he told her that he could barely breathe thinking about what she did with his dead father Huh Ildo. Taeyun told his mom that if this keeps up then he might just die and this pissed off Deokhui so much that she slapped the crap out of her own beloved son and yelled at him saying, DON’T YOU DARE TALK ABOUT DYING!!!!!!!!
Taeyun said to his mom that he’s able to see how hard she’s fighting to keep it together whenever she sees Eunnam and also whenever she faces Dongjoo too. Then Deokhui yelled at Taeyun by saying that she’s fighting because of Taeyun cus she cares about him a lot. Deokhui was crying and told Taeyun that the only reason she lives is for Taeyun and that’s it. Taeyun held his mother’s hand and told her that they should just leave the Cha household and also leave Daesan. Taeyun wanted to go somewhere far away with her mother so nobody would be able to find them.
Deokhui of course did not like that idea because in her mind Taeyun should be the one going up there in Daesan not anybody else and that’s why he told Taeyun to get a hold of himself while yelling at him. Deokhui wanted Taeyun to learn everything at Daesan so he could move forward until he becomes the CEO of Daesan. Deokhui told Taeyun that she is willing to clear any obstacle for him if need be. Daeokhui said it’s her job to look out for Taeyun’s best interest now that his dad is no longer around in this world.
Taeyun was trying to stop his mom from going further but she was like, I will allow you to whine and complain once in a while, it’s okay to do that. Deokhui was crying and started touching Taeyun’s face apologizing to him for hitting him earlier. Deokhui was shaking and hugging his son saying that she’s come too far to turn back now. Deokhui thinks that it’s silly for Taeyun to walk away when the end is right in sight.
Meanwhile, the chairman was talking to Dongjoo about bringing in Yusung chemical and then he almost forgot his company name Daesan but Dongjoo had to remind him again and it seemed like the chairman’s condition was getting worse and worse by the day.
The chairman luckily said Daesan but couldn’t finish it so President Seo had to finish the rest of the name which was Daesan Energy. What the chairman wanted to say was to grow Daesan Energy several times over. Dongjoo told the chairman that he doesn’t need to worry about that because Director Yeo Eunnam will handle the merger well. Chairman Cha Gangcheon was happy to hear what Dongjoo was saying as he laughed really loud.
Dongjoo was looking for something in his pocket and it was a lollipop and the old chairman was glad that he didn’t forget to bring it. Dongjoo was kind enough to unwrap it for him but the chairman said that the flavor starts with unwrapping the thing so he wanted to do it himself. I think the chairman is slowly becoming a child and this is a common trait with dementia patients.
The chairman was most definitely enjoying the lollipop and suddenly he was saying that he should make Huh Ildo a vice president when he’s been dead for quite sometime. Dongjoo was super concerned once that came out of the old man’s mouth. The chairman added that President Seo should gather feedback on Huh Ildo from the subsidiaries. Dongjoo agreed to do what the chairman told him even if he knows that the chairman’s order is impossible since his father Huh Ildo is long gone and the chairman was really enjoying his lollipop like a little kid.
Dongjoo didn’t say it out loud but in his head he said that he is gonna be taking some time off soon and this time it’s gonna be a longer time off than before. The chairman was looking at President Seo and he asked him if he wanted some of his lollipop and of course he said no.
Dongjoo brought Eunnam to the safe vault and gave her the code. The first one to have it was the first chairman Cha Daebok who is Chairman Cha Gangcheon’s father then the current Chairman Cha Gangcheon, then Dongjoo/President Seo and finally Director Yeo Eunnam.
Eunnam felt a little burdened by such a huge decision made by the chairman to allow Dongjoo to give her the passcode to the safe vault but Dongjoo was telling Eunnam that the chairman wanted him to give the passcode to someone who has the capable of leading Daesan.
After hearing that from Dongjoo, Eunnam said if that’s the case it shouldn’t be her and it should be someone else. Then Dongjoo went on to say that ever since DAESAN E&C merged with Yuseong Chemical, the stocks have been climbing up nonstop which is a good thing obviously. Dongjoo said that Eunnam should take the credit for this because she made bold decisions to save it, and every time the merger was about to fall apart she saved it so she is a capable person enough to know the vault code.
Eunnam then brightly smiled at Dongjoo and she said that it must be true what he’s saying cus he is the one praising her for bold moves. Eunnam then looked or rather observed Dongjoo carefully then asked him if he is doing all this because he is leaving Daesan? Then Eunnam begged Dongjoo not to leave Daesan with a lot of urgency.
Dongjoo said that he was able to take what Yeom Jang Seon valued and cared about the most and then let him live so he did what he wanted, meaning he achieved his ultimate goal from the beginning. Then Eunnam asked him that’s a good thing, right? Dongjoo then asked her right back, do you really think so?
Dongjoo confessed he doesn’t know what’s right or wrong anymore so that’s why he’s leaving to find the answer for himself.
Dongjoo was about to leave but Eunnam honked her car horn to get his attention and she said that she wants to drive him wherever he wants to go and if he says no then she won’t let him leave.
Eunnam was driving and Dongjoo was sitting in the passenger’s seat and he seemed deep in thought not saying much and Eunnam looked a little awkward too because the car was so quiet since nobody was talking.
Eunnam dropped off Dongjoo and before getting out of the car she told him to have a good trip. Dongjoo quietly got out of the car and moments later Eunnam hopped out of the car too. The place Eunnam dropped off Dongjoo was like some coastal town near the ocean/lake. Dongjoo was just standing there looking at the waters and Eunnam was obviously waiting for Dongjoo to do something dramatic and he was smart enough to pick up the sign so he took the initiative and walked quickly over to Eunnam and kissed her. Darn, HYUNGSIK IS SUCH A GOOD KISSER, I WISH HE CAN KISS ME LIKE THAT! HYUNGSIK OPPA, PLEASE KISS ME TOO BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now some time has passed and it was snowing and it looked like Taeyun went overseas to study business and Seonwoo was asking him about it. Taeyun said that it was tough so all he did was play the violin and that’s why it was almost like starting all over from scratch.
It was snowing outside and Taeyun and Seonwoo were drinking something warm and having a chit chat as uncle and nephew. It’s so weird cus the guys age gap is obviously not that big. I’m thinking that Seonwoo is probably like 3 or 4 years older than Taeyun.
Seonwoo was telling Taeyun that he’s able to relate to Taeyun because he’s been riding his bike again. It was obvious that Taeyun and Seonwoo were getting along fortunately.
Taeyun was saying that he wanted to get more coffee so he asked Seonwoo if he wanted more. I completely forgot that Seonwoo was actually younger than Taeyun although he definitely looks older….Seonwoo said that he’ll go get the coffee because he is the younger one and while saying that he called Taeyun nephew….
Seonwoo went to go get coffee and while he was doing that, Taeyun remained outside and texted his Dongjoo hyung. Taeyun texted Dongjoo and said that he was talking about business management with Seonwoo and he feels that Seonwoo is a better fit for Daesan than what people think.
Yeom looked like he was arrested and we got to see him in the prisoners suit. Taeyun was still outside smiling and just being out of it then Seonwoo pushed him from behind and went THWOMP!
Dongjoo was on his little vacation, Yeom was heading to the big hotel, Seonwoo pushed Taeyun off from their large balcony and Seonwoo was nonchalant about what he did while looking sinister?
Dongjoo got a text message from Taeyun and he said that he is aware that his brother is taking some time off then he talked about business school with Seonwoo and the more he gets to know him he seems to be a better fit for Daesan. After Dongjoo read that text he was sighing and seemed to be a little concerned about it. Dongjoo was sitting in his motor boat deep in thought again as if he wants to forget about everything and Dongjoo doesn’t really seem like a guy on vacation since his outfit doesn’t match a guy taking a long break.
Dongjoo was dressed all in black and not someone one on vacation because he had something important to do which was cremate his father’s ashes into the ocean so he can be free once and for all.
Dongjoo thought about what his father said to him on that fateful day before he passed on, some day when he dies of old age, he would like someone to scatter his ashes over the sea right where he saved him and he wants to atone and repent right on that particular spot. After Dongjoo scattered his father’s ashes he sat on the boat for a little bit. A little while after he took out his violin and started playing it. The show ended with Dongjoo looking out into the ocean while the sun was setting and we got to see clips of what happened on episode 16.
This show was really not my style and I’m not a huge fan of this kind of story but I watched it anyways just so I would be able ot support our dear Hyungsik. The best thing about this show was the fact that Hyungsik was in it and he pretty much carried the whole show and this is an indicator that Park Hyungsik grew a lot as an actor, he really does have potential to go further.
Honestly, I would not watch a show like this but I watched for Hyungsik so if someone else played the role of Seo Dongjoo, I wouldn’t have batted an eye with this particular show and not giving attention to it at all.
I did not like majority of the characters in this show except for Dongjoo,Taeyun, and Yeonju. Mr. Bae is kinda complicated, I like him but I kind don’t. Maybe I should like Bae since he helped out Dongjoo a lot so I’ll just say that I like but not in a pure sense though.
I really loved Dongjoo’s hair and fashion, Hyungsik was really able to rock his style in this show. Oh and it’s a pity that Hyungsik wasn’t able to sing any ot the OST SONGS…….
Hyungsik as Dongjoo was so manly in Buried Hearts and not only that I praise him for his acting range. Like I said earlier I’m not a huge of this kind of storytelling but I was amazed that Hyungsik was able to pull off such a role and carried the whole show with a more experienced actor like Huh Junho. Hyungsik really proved that he has range cus he can go from sweet to darn hot in a matter of seconds.
This show was a little too political for me and people who are not familiar with the recent Korean history wouldn’t be able to catch it but I was able to but thankfully it wasn’t so overboard that I couldn’t watch it even with Hyungsik it in and that was a good thing. The show did take a lot of out me so now I’m gonna take a little break until something new comes along.
I would recommend this drama if you are a Park Hyungsik fan cus you’ll be able to see what he is capable of.
