Dr. Slump Episode 16 (FINALE) Recap/Review/Final Thoughts…..*Spoiler Alert* Don’t read on if you haven’t watched it yet…….

·

Uncle Taesun has been making Busan’s famous wheat noodles for the last twenty years but he was supposed to be working at his brother in law’s fish cake factory after he got discharged from the military but nobody still knows the reason why he changed his mind. Episode 16 starts with showing Uncle Taesun making his famous wheat noodles while Haneul is narrating his story.

Haneul continued narrating the story of a different family member and this time it was about Bada. Bada has been tenacious with learning the techniques of noodle making skills through his uncle Taesun. However, Bada was still complaining about chopping up cucumbers and making the broth for the noodles on a friday night. To Nam Bada Friday is considered a golden day for him. Bada was sighing because he really didn’t feel like doing this but he still pulled through with tenacity.

Haneul was cheering on her little brother but at the same time there was no guarantee that it was gonna last long so she couldn’t wonder how long Bada’s tenacity would last.

Haneul’s two aunts were drinking coffee on a beautiful afternoon. And one of the aunts was petting a big ol dog while gossiping about Haneul again. The aunt with the weird looking eyes was starting to talk crap about Haneul. Man, this lady really has nothing better to do.

Both of the aunts were talking about how Haneul is a loser by saying that it doesn’t matter if she’s a doctor because she is unemployed anyway and that makes her a loser. The aunt with the weird looking eyes was agreeing with her sister and now she was gossiping about her sister in law/Haneul’s mother.

She was saying that Mrs. Kong was bragging about how her daughter was gonna be a professor at the university hospital soon but now Haneul is unemployed so she’s gonna come and meet them looking all down.

I hate to disappoint these ladies that have nothing better to do other than gossip about others. They are gonna be down themselves if they find out what really is going on with Haneul right now. Haneul is an assistant professor now so if she visits them in her white doctor’s robe, they are gonna be so disappointed hehehe…

Haneul’s aunts are so fake because they are pretending to worry about Haneul and Mrs. Kong but they really don’t cus all they know how to do is gossip. Haneul’s aunts were talking as if they felt bad for Mrs. Kong and her daughter while they pitied her and saying that they were worried about her which was completely false.

As the dog was barking Haneul’s mom was making a grand entrance while looking decked out. The dog was constantly barking and Haneul’s two aunties were looking pretty shocked seeing Mrs. Kong because she looked so sophisticated and super elegant.

Haneul was back to narrating again and this time she was talking about her mom. Haneul’s mother was living her life to the fullest like never before and this made her two sister in laws look pitiful instead.

Meanwhile, at Hongran’s apartment, Hongran and Daeyoung were making plum wine together. Hongran’s simple dream is to drink the wine they made together and bbq some meat along with it.

Hongran told Daeyoung that it would take three months for the little baby plums to become wine so Dae thought it would be a good idea for them to drink it for their 100 day anniversary.

Hongran thought it was a bit childish for them to celebrate a 100 day anniversary but Daeyoung begged to differ because he wants to celebrate as many special occasions as possible.

Daeyoung wants to be good to Hongran. He wants to call her often when he is not busy and also take her out to eat something nice as much as he is able to. Daeyoung said he wanted to protect his newfound love, Lee Hongran.

Hongran was acting all shy and just took a sip of water from her water bottle and Daeyoung was smiling too because he thought she was being cute. Daeyoung thought Hongran was being cute while drinking water from her water bottle and when he expressed that to her she denied it. Hongran didn’t think it was cute at all but Daeyoung disagreed with her on that.

The two were smiling at each other and flirting with each other then Daeyoung asked her since when she became so beautiful and Hongran couldn’t believe it so she just ended up laughing instead of answering his question.

Haneul started narrating again and she was saying that Hongran told her something. Hongran told Haneul that she realized something when she started dating again and that love is beautiful as waiting for the plum wine to be done. Haneul was talking about how everyone was diligently living their own lives while she was living her life and stepping towards her own path calmly but surely.

Haneul was wondering if she is completely okay again. Haneul was narrating her thoughts while she was looking out the brightly lit window. I realized that Haneul’s room is so pretty, it’s not super fancy but I love the way her windows are so lit but by the natural sunlight.

Bada was applying everything he learned from his uncle so far. He looked pretty serious and into what he was doing while he was making the Busan wheat noodles for his family. Bada’s mom, uncle and sister were about to try out the wheat noodles that he made for the first time.

Mrs. Kong looked so moved seeing the bowl of wheat noodles that Bada made for the whole family, she looked like she was about to cry. Haneul’s mom couldn’t believe that Bada was the one who chopped up the cucumbers too. Bada’s mom asked him if he even made the sauce for it and Bada was like of course I did. Bada was proud that he made the broth and made the dough for the noodles himself too.

Mrs. Kong was so moved and she didn’t want to lose this chance to take a photo of it because it’s his first Milmyeon/Wheat noodles he’s ever made and Bada was even smiling. Bada looked pleased that his mother was so moved and proud of his work.

Bada’s mom was too into taking photos of Bada’s Milmyeon with her phone but uncle Taesun told her to eat already because the noodles will get soggy if she doesn’t eat it right away.

Mrs. Kong couldn’t believe it because she thought it tasted pretty similar to what her brother has been making all these years and even the uncle agreed with her that Bada’s noodles did taste similar to his.

Even Haneul was moved by Bada’s cooking. Haneul was so touched even though she looked like she was about to cry any minute and of course Mrs. Kong still looked that way too. The two ladies of the Nam household were so proud of Bada but it makes sense since he’s never taken anything seriously before in his life.

Uncle Taesun couldn’t understand why the two ladies of the Nam household were crying because he thinks that it can’t be that good to the point where it would make you cry. Haneul said she’s crying because she was proud of her little brother Bada but Bada thought that his sister was overreacting.

Bada was like, don’t tell me my sister’s depression got worse in his little brother’s teasing voice and Haneul was like you little rascal hehehe…

Haneul heard from her uncle that Bada has been helping out his uncle without a day off and Bada nodded with a proud smile. Haneul couldn’t help but to compliment his little brother since he’s never seriously completed anything in his entire life.

Haneul’s mom had to agree with what Haneul was saying. Bada never took anything too seriously to the point where he never completed anything in his life. One time, Haneul’s mom sent Bada to learn Taekwondo but he quit in three days. And Mrs. Kong sent Bada to go learn art and he would quit in 3 days with that too. Bada even wanted to take an exam to become a civil servant but he quit even before the workbooks arrived to study from.

Haneul added that Bada was famous for quitting in three days no matter what he went for but this time he was able to complete something for once. Bada had the patience, tenacity and the perseverance to finish a task that was given to him and this Haneul as his big sister was proud of his little brother.

Uncle Taesun wanted to let Bada know that he did his part to stick with something for a while, learn the craft and complete what he put his mind into so in his mind he did well. Uncle Taesun continued on and said that’s all they wanted from Bada, pick something that he’s interested in and stick with it for a long time while finishing what he started.

The uncle told Bada to use this time to think about what he wants to do with his life carefully. Mrs. Kong said she will be there to help him with whatever he needs. Bada showed a content smile on his face and Haneul showed a smile that showed how proud she was of her little brother.

Mrs. Kong told Bada that she really likes the noodles he made and it tastes mighty fine too. Jungwoo finally got off from work and he was able to manage to come early enough to try out Bada’s wheat noodles. Jungwoo looked at the noodles and to him it looked good so he was excited to try it out and Bada’s family members were just as excited too because they wanted to see what his reaction would be.

Jungwoo was really into eating his noodles and it did seem like he was enjoying it but Haneul wanted to hear his reaction already so he asked him what he thought about it. It seemed like Jungwoo had no idea that the noodles were made by Bada so that’s why his first words were, is this a new menu? It tastes a little bit different than normal….

Haneul wanted Jungwoo to tell him how it was different and then Jungwoo was making the thinking face while he was trying to answer her question. Jungwoo was saying that the seasoning tasted a little bland and the noodles tasted a little chewier than normal and he thought that the noodles might be that way because he arrived a little late. Jungwoo had more to say but he was interrupted by the angry looking faces of Haneul’s family members.

Jungwoo had no clue why Haneul and all of her family members had angry looking faces. Bada didn’t look angry but a little disappointed. Jungwoo was like, what’s wrong with you guys? Then Haneul’s mom was like, don’t eat it then and took his bowl away. The uncle got up and left while Jungwoo was asking what’s going on and he was asking Haneul why they were being like this. Haneul grabbed Jungwoo by the collar and asked him to follow her.

Haneul practically dragged Jungwoo out of the restaurant and brought him up to the rooftop and yes it’s obvious that he is gonna hear it from her, be scolded by her because Jungwoo cluelessly was being insensitive about the situation. Jungwoo couldn’t believe that the wheat noodles were made by none other than Bada. Haneul was smiling and was telling Jungwoo that Bada has been working really hard to learn the skills to make the noodles. Haneul said to Jungwoo that when she saw the bowl of noodles that Bada made she couldn’t help but to be teary eyed because her little brother became mature enough to finish something for once.

Jungwoo realized that he deserved to be kicked out of the restaurant when the noodles were made by Bada with a lot of work he put into it. Haneul was proud of her little brother Bada because she’s been annoyed by him just playing around at home doing nothing but he finally made something happen by becoming a responsible adult. Haneul felt like she had one less thing to worry about now.

Then Jungwoo brought about “his concern” and Haneul seemed clueless about this. Jungwoo was talking about his question about being a family and he still wanted to hear an answer from him regarding this. Haneul was saying that Jungwoo didn’t even give her a chance to answer the question and yes she is right because he was too busy making out with her to even answer properly.

I still can’t help but to wonder if they just made out or did something more than that…..That still remains a mystery but it’s okay since they left it vague I could just let my imagination run wild and write a fanfic in the Shikkiverse style! HEHEHEHEHE…

Both Jungwoo and Haneul realized what they did the night before and they looked pretty embarrassed about it and that’s why Haneul was touching her lips while Jungwoo was covering his whole face with both of his giant hands. Jungwoo was rocking back and forth and fanning his face because it was too hot to think about what happened the night before. Honestly, the writer, and the two people that played Jungwoo and Haneul would know what exactly happened that night.

Bada was wrapping it up and was about to head in and Uncle Taesun came back into the restaurant because he had something to give to his nephew and it was an envelope full of cash. Bada looked in the envelope and he looked really moved and it’s understandable because this guy has never ever made his own money. The only way Bada had any money was to beg for 50,000 won to all of his family members and that’s why the uncle was saying that he looked embarrassed getting paid for the first time in his adult life.

Bada was maturing obviously since he was expressing how embarrassed he feels about taking the money although he earned by working really hard for it. Bada wasn’t sure if he should take the bundle of money from his uncle even if he is getting paid for his hard work. This is so unlike Bada because he loved going around asking for money without even doing anything but now he was feeling bad accepting the money. I love Bada’s arc in this show because he went from an immature goofball to a young man who was maturing bit by bit.

Uncle Taesun realized that Bada is maturing because he’s been used to his nephew always going around asking for 50,000 won and he even went through their wallets and stole from them. Uncle Taesun told him to use the money wisely instead of just spending it on booze and video games.

Bada was like, it’s my money now so I’m gonna spend it how I see fit and besides you are acting so old by paying me like this. Nobody nowadays pays their workers by giving them a bundle of cash in an envelope.

Bada was busy complaining but he was definitely enjoying the money. Uncle Taesun was laughing cus he knew that Bada didn’t really mean what he said and Bada was showing how happy he was as soon as he left his uncle’s noodle house. Bada loved the money so much that he called it his baby. He was kissing his money, petting it and even calling it his baby. Unfortunately, his big sister Haneul caught him adoring the money that he received from his uncle for working so hard for a while.

Haneul was coming down the stairs and she saw her little brother petting the envelope and she was wondering why he was doing that. Haneul thought that maybe he received a letter from a girl that he’s been seeing.

And Bada was like, you are so old thinking that people still write snail mail like this. He was saying the same thing that he was saying to his uncle earlier. It’s funny how Bada just can’t admit the fact that he is happy about getting paid for the first time for his hard work. Bada was like, there are too many old people around me then he suddenly asked his sister to go get some Korean BBQ with him.

Haneul was too full from eating all the wheat noodles earlier so she didn’t really feel like eating Korean BBQ with him but Bada was like let’s go because I really want to treat you out for some meat that’s all.

Haneul thought she heard him wrong because she didn’t think he said he was gonna be the one treating instead of the other way around. Haneul asked Bada, so you are gonna be treating me out? Bada was like, yep I’m gonna be the one treating you but Haneul still couldn’t believe it so she asked him to repeat what he just said.

Haneul still couldn’t believe that Bada is gonna be the one treating her for once and even Bada thought it was a bit awkward saying this because even he’s aware that he never treats his sister out ever.

Bada was like, let’s go noona because the Korean BBQ restaurant is gonna close soon and Haneul wanted to make sure that this wasn’t a dream. This just goes to show that Bada only received and never gave in his entire life, no wonder his sister had a hard time believing him.

Haneul was like, I’m not being scammed right now am I? Is this really my little brother Nam Bada? Haneul thought it wasn’t really Bada and it was someone else wearing a Bada mask. I thought it was funny when Haneul was pulling on Bada’s skin to make sure that it wasn’t somebody else in there. Haneul couldn’t help but to doubt her little brother but still Bada managed to take her to the restaurant to treat her to some good quality Korean BBQ.

Bada took Haneul to the Korean BBQ restaurant that we’ve seen a lot of in this show. I wonder if this restaurant paid them a lot of money for the advertisement through this show, who knows hehehe..

Bada was asking Haneul what she thinks of the meat that her little brother is buying for the first time with his first pay that he’s ever received in his life. Haneul thought it was delicious and she never thought that a day like this would ever come in her lifetime. Even Bada didn’t know that he’s gonna be this awesome adult that treats his big sister out to some nice Korean BBQ.

Bada told Haneul to eat to her heart’s content and he expressed how he used to only take 50,000 won from her periodically but he did want to do something nice for his sister like this every once in a while although he didn’t have the money to do that. Then Haneul was like, why just once in a while? You should treat me out often, little bro….

Bada was like I’ll think about it and Haneul was like, why just think about it? You should put what you think into action. Bada was like just eat sis, I’m treating you out now, aren’t I? So please just eat, sis…Haneul said she was so full that she couldn’t eat anymore and the waitress brought the item they ordered to go. Bada was wondering who the to go item was for and Haneul said it’s for mom and uncle.

Haneul was like give me the check I’ll pay for it and Bada was like I’ll pay for it but do me a favor, just take some photos for me while I’m paying. Sometimes I feel like Bada could be a bit of a narcissistic guy but in a cute kind of way.

Bada told his sister to take a photo of him paying but make it seem as if he was the one that always paid for meals. Bada wanted a paparazzi shot and Haneul was willing to make his dream come true and take the photos of him paying for the meal as if it’s just a natural thing for him to do.

—————————————————————————————————————————–

Jungwoo was afraid that he just got rejected and his disappointed face looks so sad and cute at the same time, he really does look like a puppy. Jungwoo was talking to Daeyoung, telling him that he hasn’t heard from her since he proposed to her and he couldn’t believe there was no reaction regarding this subject whatsoever.

Daeyoung told the younger boy, didn’t I tell you it was too soon to propose?

Jungwoo was sighing and Daeyoung was saying that Haneul’s reaction was too broken to answer him. Then Daeyoung added that perhaps Jungwoo was good enough to date but he wasn’t quite the husband material in her mind. I think Daeyoung is being too mean here. I understand he is giving constructive criticism but it’s a bit much….

Jungwoo retorted that he is not the type Daeyoung is talking about. Daeyoung was telling Jungwoo that he is not the one to decide whether he is the right one for Haneul or not and Haneul is the one who should decide if Jungwoo is the one for him or not.

Daeyoung was saying Haneul probably thought that Jungwoo wasn’t good enough to get married to. I realized that whenever Daeyoung is overly critical towards Jungwoo, he kinda reminds me of Cha Kang Jae from What Happens to my Family. Daeyoung was teasing Jungwoo, asking him what Haneul disliked about him to reject him like that.

Jungwoo wanted to fight Daeyoung. Jungwoo was like, let’s fight to the death right now and Daeyoung was like, You don’t know anything about marriage, I’ve been there and done that kiddo…….

Jungwoo told Daeyoung that one of them would need to dig a grave to be in cus someone is gonna die by the end of this fight. The way Jungwoo and Daeyoung fight in this show is similar but different from the way they were fighting in What Happens to My Family. Daeyoung was okay with fighting to the death with Jungwoo. These two grown men are like little boys sometimes or more like a lot of the time they seem to be that way.

Thankfully Director Woo came and interrupted them because it was time for them to meet with the NI patient that just arrived. Daeyoung told Director Woo that he’ll get ready right away but he thought she should have just messaged him about it instead of just barging into his office like that.

Director Woo came to talk to Daeyoung directly because she was a little concerned about this patient who is a bit weird. According to Director Woo this patient was weird from the start when they were giving her a basic consultation. Director Woo just wanted to make sure that Dr. Bin was okay with this because this patient seemed a little dangerous from the beginning.

Jungwoo didn’t quite understand what Director Woo was talking about and she explained to him why this patient was a nuisance. Apparently this patient couldn’t make up her mind whether she wanted to get surgery or not over and over again which was annoying the heck out of her. Also, this patient was secretly recording the consultation and she was reeking with the smell of alcohol so Director Woo couldn’t help but to think that she showed up for the consultation pretty drunk too.

Jungwoo put his finger in one of his ears and felt like what Director Woo was telling them was a bit concerning but Daeyoung looked pretty optimistic. Daeyoung told Director Woo that everything would be okay if he’s able to prove it with a good end result and then it would be GAME OVER!

Daeyoung was talking to Jungwoo and he was like, don’t you know whenever I hold on to the mass the blood vessel would do its thing and moves for me and my hands are so fast and so accurate too. I love how Daeyoung was shaking his butt too while he was explaining how good he is to impress this crazy patient. Daeyoung was saying that when he is working on a patient they are not able to see his hand because it moves so fast. I feel like Daeyoung is very good at exaggerating but I can’t help but to laugh because he really means no harm.

Jungwoo had no idea about what Daeyoung was telling them since it’s his first time ever hearing about these things but he wished him luck with this patient and left Daeyoung’s office. Daeyoung was like, you little bastard cus he just left without really saying anything to the older boy.

Daeyoung went into the surgery room to perform on that patient. He greeted everyone good morning and wished them to do their best.

Daeyoung told the patient that he will discuss with her about the designs of her surgery. Daeyoung wanted to remeasure and redesign her surgery just in case but it was obvious that the patient wasn’t having it.

The lady patient was telling Daeyoung that she doesn’t want to do another surgery if it ever comes down to it and she told him that she wants him to do it perfectly the first time so she won’t have to come and do it again. Daeyoung told her to just put her trust in him and everything will be fine. This patient came to get her eyes done, double eyelid surgery obviously cus that’s what a lot of Koreans and Asians get a lot of the time when they go to a plastic surgeon.

Haneul was asking the newbie doctor on residency if she prepared the presentation for the conference she’ll be attending. The newbie was telling Haneul that she wasn’t able to because it’s so difficult but Haneul was nice enough to give her a helping hand. Haneul said she’ll help her if she sends her the powerpoint presentation. The newbie student was so happy that she thanked her with a big smile and enthusiasm.

Haneul warned that there will be a lot of difficult patients tomorrow so she should take a good grasp of them so she won’t have to suffer so much. The young doctor thanked the assistant professor Nam once again and Professor Nam wished her the best.

Haneul’s phone was vibrating and it was Jungwoo. Jungwoo was asking Haneul if she is in the middle of performing a surgery then he told her to make sure to eat something if she could help it.

Jungwoo was working on something on his computer on his desk and he got a call from his girlfriend Nam Haneul. Haneul asked Jungwoo if he would be okay with eating dinner with her and of course Jungwoo was certainly okay with that. Jungwoo told Haneul to think about what she would like to eat and she said that she’ll definitely do that and also she’ll make the reservation too while she’s at it. Jungwoo was surprised that she was gonna be the one to make the reservation.

Haneul wanted to make a reservation at the fancy steakhouse restaurant while looking at the view of the Han River. Haneul would like to go on a steakhouse date with her man so she  would have a chance to use one of those steak knives to chop up a delicious and juicy steak.

Jungwoo thought this was a bit too sudden and Haneul told him that she also has something important to say to him as well. Jungwoo’s face lit up the moment he heard her say that she had something to say to him. Jungwoo is probably thinking that she’s gonna give him the answer to the question he popped just the other day hehehe…

Jungwoo looked so happy and he looked like a little puppy in love with that smile of his. Jungwoo was like, see? I’m not just a guy that they wanna date, I’m the type of guy that’s a marriage material too. I love how he talks to himself in a cute aegyo kind of way while trying to convince himself that he is more than just a guy to date for Haneul.

Jungwoo was like, this is so tiring being so loved by my girl while he was playing with his hair. This reminded me of Hyungsik’s famous hair tossing, that drives me so crazy and Jungwoo was kinda doing it here too.

Haneul looked at the ring that Jungwoo gave her on episode 15, she reminded herself that she should talk to Jungwoo about the proposal without being nervous but just talk to him comfortably and in a simple minded way. Haneul felt like she didn’t have to make things too complicated unnecessarily and that’s why she decided to use the most simple way to answer to his proposal.

The manager for the Anesthesia department wanted to see Haneul and he wanted to have a cup of tea/coffee with her about something important.

Haneul invited her manager over to her office and we see Jungwoo still waiting for Haneul. Jungwoo thought it was the most perfect night to hear the answer to his question that he popped the other while looking at the river view and drinking wine.

Haneul arrived slightly late. She was well dressed for the occasion but Jungwoo didn’t look as dressy for such an occasion though. Jungwoo looked more semi casual while Haneul looked more formal for the occasion.

Jungwoo liked the place that she reserved but he couldn’t stop wondering when she visited such a fancy place in the past. Haneul was like I never came here before cus I never had any reason to but I looked it up on the internet so I could eat a fancy dinner like this with you. Haneul was never like this in the past cus she was too busy just studying but after she met Jungwoo she learned how to do other things besides studying.

Jungwoo was curious what Haneul was gonna say to him because she took the time to look up such a place and made a reservation for the two of them as well. Jungwoo looked like he was getting impatient and he wanted to hear whatever she was gonna say now and he couldn’t help but to be curious about what she was gonna say to him. However, Haneul wanted to eat first before she opened her mouth about whatever she was gonna talk to him about.

Jungwoo couldn’t focus on eating cus he looked pretty nervous. I think he was more into her answer than the food. Jungwoo couldn’t even chop up his steak properly cus all he had on his mind was the answer so that’s why he said, I can’t eat right now because I’m so nervous. Jungwoo would rather hear what she had to say now so he asked her to tell him whatever she was gonna say cus he just couldn’t focus on eating right now. Jungwoo was like, if I continue eating I think I’m gonna be out of breath and choke to death……

Haneul decided to open up and said she was originally gonna give him an answer about the ring but then there was something else going on that she needed to tell him about. Haneul was telling Jungwoo that she really doesn’t need to give him an answer because she feels the same way as him but there was a sudden variable situation that happened to her.

Jungwoo was like, What? A variable? Then Haneul decided to be straight with him and let him know that her manager wants her to go study abroad for about six months and Jungwoo was like what?!

Haneul was telling Jungwoo that her hospital is gonna be opening a Children’s hospital next year. Haneul told Jungwoo that her boss wanted her to go abroad and look around all the children’s hospitals abroad. Haneul’s boss told her to go check out the anesthesia department overseas. Jungwoo didn’t seem all that happy though, you could just tell by his facial expression and his tone of voice. He was like, so what do you want to do about it, Haneul?!

Haneul was like it sounds kinda fun, she seems kinda curious about it while she also thinks that it would be a lot of help to her career. Jungwoo thought if she really thinks that way then there’s nothing more to think about in his mind. Haneul felt bad to talk about how she’s gonna be separated from him for six months when he just proposed to him, she felt it was kinda wrong to talk to him about it…Wow, what a horrible timing when she gets this kind of offer hehehe…

Haneul felt bad for leaving him behind all by himself for six whole months. Jungwoo told Haneul that he would wish for her to do everything and anything she would want to go for in life. Jungwoo doesn’t want to be that obstacle to Haneul’s path if she made up her mind to choose something to do in her life. Jungwoo wanted to emphasize that he is not the type of guy that doesn’t block a woman’s path if she chooses something to do in her life. Jungwoo told Haneul to just go ahead and go without worrying about him since this could be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Haneul let out a light smile because she felt very grateful to Jungwoo but she also had that concerned look in her eyes. Haneul was like, Jungwoo what are you doing? Then Jungwoo realized that he was chopping the dish and not the meat. Jungwoo was like, whoops, the meat was right here hehehe….

Jungwoo was like, don’t worry about me so just eat up before the food gets cold then he asked her when she is gonna be leaving. Haneul was telling Jungwoo that this thing came up at the last minute so she would have to leave very soon, next month. Jungwoo looked like he wasn’t enjoying it.

Jungwoo was like, you’re leaving next month eh? Man, I’m so thirsty. He was so bothered by the fact that he might be separated from Haneul for six months so he was becoming dehydrated but he grabbed the wrong glass. He didn’t grab his water glass but he grabbed the flower vase glass instead. Jungwoo didn’t even realize that he was drinking out of the flower vase and Haneul had to stop him from doing something silly like that.

Jungwoo finally drank out of his regular glass and he was like somebody else would have drank out of that vase too, not just me. Jungwoo was trying his best not to look like an idiot in front of his woman. Jungwoo was like you got yourself a good offer, isn’t that right? I loved the way Jungwoo smiled at Haneul so big, like a cute little puppy. Jungwoo was trying so hard not to be disappointed by it because he wanted to come off as a man that supports his woman with all her endeavors.

Jungwoo was cutting his steak and saying underneath his breath that it’s a good offer and it’s something to congratulate instead of being sad about it. Haneul came home and as she was taking off her jacket and she couldn’t help but to be concerned for Jungwoo. Hanuel felt that Jungwoo looked okay but at the same time he didn’t look okay so that’s why she was so confused about it. Haneul couldn’t help but to wonder what Jungwoo is up to right now.

Jungwoo finally got back to his apartment and he was like what? Did she just say six months? Jungwoo was like, are you kidding me? How am I supposed to wait for you for six months huh?! He was like six months is way too long, I don’t think I could even wait for three months crying out loud. Jungwoo was then talking about a month not being enough and a day. Poor Jungwoo just didn’t want his girlfriend to leave because he knew he would have a hard time even staying away from her for a day.

Jungwoo was throwing a tantrum while jumping up and down in bed telling her not to go, Jungwoo thought all the hardships were over and now they would be just walking a rosy path but that wasn’t the case and he couldn’t stand this at all. Jungwoo was like please don’t go baby! Why! Why are you leaving me all by myself?!

Jungwoo was throwing a tantrum while laying in bed like a little kid. Whenever Jungwoo throws a tantrum he reminds me of what Dalbong and Minmin used to do put together. I think I could understand where Jungwoo is coming from because I think I would feel the same way if Jungwoo was my boyfriend and we had to stay apart for six whole months.

Also, I think Jungwoo does have abandonment issues when you think about it since his parents were never around. Jungwoo’s father was pretty much absent the whole time and his mom only came to check on his grades so I could kinda see Jungwoo not wanting to be away from someone he is close to.

Jungwoo was throwing a tantrum for quite a while and on the next day at work he looked so dead inside…poor dude. Daeyoung saw how dead Jungwoo looked inside so he had to go talk to him so he tried to catch his attention by calling for him. Daeyoung was like, wait for me dude!

Jungwoo was just leaning against the elevator door and Daeyoung was so glad that he was able to run fast enough to catch the elevator with Jungwoo in it. Daeyoung was wondering why Jungwoo’s face looked so discolored/pale. Jungwoo was like, what about my face? And Daeyoung noticed that Jungwoo had been looking pretty worried and it was written all over his face obviously. Daeyoung was being mean again and he asked him if he got rejected by Haneul or something. Sometimes Daeyoung could be a bit insensitive……

Jungwoo denied the fact that he didn’t get rejected which was the truth and Dae asked what’s going on then, he was curious about his younger buddy’s situation. Daeyoung thought that maybe Jungwoo was being reckless and bought bad stocks with the money he got back from the lawsuit. Then Daeyoung asked if he got scammed by renting a house from someone.

Jungwoo wanted to be left alone and not be bothered so he was like, hyung please leave me alone! I want to be left alone, please! Then Daeyoung said that he is not able to leave because he is in the elevator right now. Daeyoung was being silly saying that someone should open the door for him when the elevator is still going. Daeyoung was even knocking on the elevator wall and it was driving Jungwoo up the wall. Jungwoo was banging on the door and was asking Daeyoung to just leave. Jungwoo was being just as crazy as Daeyoung. I guess like attracts like hehehe…

Daeyoung was like, how in the world am I supposed to leave when I’m still on the elevator. But thankfully the elevator door opened because they were finally there at their clinic. Daeyoung doesn’t seem to get that the guy wants to be left alone but he kept on asking what’s wrong with him like did your patient complain about your work? Daeyoung wasn’t done asking a bunch of questions regarding his little brother but then he got interrupted from making Jungwoo feel miserable. Now, it was his turn to be bothered, some woman called him from across the clinic. This woman said, “DR BIN DAE YOUNG!”

There was a woman patient by the name Oh Ji Eun and he made sure she was that person. Daeyoung was wondering what she was doing at the clinic so early in the morning and the woman looked really pissed off. She was like, what are you gonna do about my eyes?! Daeyoung was supposed to make her eyes beautiful according to her but unfortunately he made her eyes look crooked/uneven. But Daeyoung told her it wasn’t crooked, he was gonna explain it a little more but she cut him off saying that is uneven indeed and she knew it was gonna be this way….Yep, Director Woo was right, this lady seemed like a nutjob to me…

The lady patient got the ruler out and was trying to prove to Dr. Bin that he indeed made her eyes crooked. It was only a .01 centimeter difference so I don’t know if that’s even a big deal since I am super unfamiliar with things that are related to cosmetic surgery.

This Oh Ji Eun lady was screaming to Dr. Bin saying what is she gonna do now and apparently her life is ruined due to his mistake. She went for an audition with those eyes and she didn’t make it. This lady is blaming it on the eyes but I think it really wasn’t the eyes that she didn’t get into the door, maybe she was talentless hahaha … .Besides, even if Dr. Bin did his job perfectly, I don’t think it would’ve really made a difference since she doesn’t look all that attractive to be honest…..

Daeyoung already explained that the result might not come out to be extremely perfect but there are certain amount of fat in the area with this patient and also her eyes are naturally kinda uneven so there was nothing he was able to do about that since he’s not GOD but he did the best and was able to do so with what he was given. Daeyoung explained everything to her before the process began and she was the one who gave him the green light to go on and now she is giving Dr. Bin a hard time about it … ..what a silly woman she is….

Daeyoung already explained to her that even if he was able to make the same kind of double eyelids for both eyes she won’t get the exact same result because of the way her eyes are naturally shaped. I could understand why Director Woo was concerned about this patient. Also she barely got her eyes done so for the first few days her eyes could look a bit crooked/uneven for a little while. Daeyoung suggested that she should wait and see if it gets any better if not  said he was willing to redo the surgery for her.

This Oh Ji Eun lady didn’t seem all that interested in redoing the surgery and she called Daeyoung a quack doctor. This lady couldn’t believe that she put her trust in this quack doctor hahaha…Jungwoo tried to intervene and told Ms. Oh that she also had that smell like alcohol and she told Daeyoung to give her a refund.

The patient Oh Ji Eun told Dr. Bin that he should take accountability for his screw up and he should do as such  since she thinks that it was his fault that she failed the audition that she attended. Daeyoung felt like he shouldn’t be the one responsible for her failure and it seemed like Jungwoo was in agreement with his hyung by the way he looked and also the younger boy’s facial expression looked like he was in shock by this Oh Ji Eun character.

Daeyoung was telling this crazy patient that she should have got her eyes done after the audition instead of before it. Apparently, Dr. Bin already explained everything to this patient but she was just insisting on silly nonsense that was annoying him. Daeyoung should have taken Promotional Director Woo seriously when she warned him about this crazy lady.

The crazy lady patient was trying to use physical violence on him while verbally accusing him that he was the one that messed up her life so he should take accountability for it. The crazy patient decided to go all out crazy to the point where she got a trash can from across the clinic and started throwing trash at Daeyoung and even at Jungwoo. Then Hongran came to save the day. Hongran was like, what the heck are you doing?! Jungwoo also tried to help by saying that Ms. Oh shouldn’t be doing this kind of stuff inside the clinic.

The two men were ducking like little scared kitty cats and Hongran did a very heroic kungfu move on the crazy lady. Hongran ran and did almost like a jump kick like those heroes in  kung fu movies. Hongran kicked the trash can out of the crazy woman patient and  the trash from it all falling on the ground.

Hongran looked so cool like a kick ass female hero saving the day and everyone else there looked so scared, even the crazy patient Oh Ji Eun looked scared too.

Meanwhile, back in Dr. In Bin’s office, he looked so miserable because he showed himself neutered in front of his newfound love Hongran. It’s only natural for a man to want to look cool in front of his woman but he felt like he just made a fool out of himself instead. Daeyoung was saying to himself that Hongran was probably disappointed in him because he said that he was gonna protect her but he got protected instead. Daeyoung felt like an idiot and a moron.

While Dr. Bin was moping and feeling sorry for himself, Nurse Do came in to have a short but to the point chit chat with Mr. Daeyoung. Nurse Do came and asked Daeyoung if he heard about the news and he was like did the rumor spread that fast already? Nurse Do was telling him that he should’ve listened when everyone told him to watch out for her because she came off like a crazy lady from the start. All the staff was trying to stop Mr. Dae from performing a surgery on her during the consultation process because she was already showing signs of madness.

But Daeyoung was greedy and wanted to take as many clients/patients as possible while ignoring the advice of good people around him that seem to catch onto weird people like Ms. Oh from earlier this morning.

Nurse Do told Daeyoung not to worry since there was no problem during the process of surgery and starting from now on he should just ignore patients/clients that seem a little bit off. Nurse Do was lecturing Dr.Bin like a mother lecturing her small child. Nurse Do told Daeyoung not to just take any patients and she told him to stop being too nice like that. Nurse Do then suddenly handed Dr. Bin her resignation letter. She told him to live well without her after she leaves. Daeyoung seemed pretty taken aback by the sudden resignation letter so he asked her if he did something wrong and hurt her feelings or something.

Daeyoung asked Nurse Do if he let her down and she answered positively to that question. Daeyoung was assuming that he let her down because he has a girlfriend now despite the fact that she has feelings for him. Nurse Do thought that Daeyoung was saying crazy things now and Daeyoung was like, how dare you say that….!

Daeyoung brought up what Nurse Do said when he and all his work colleagues were having a Korean BBQ meal together after work. Daeyoung reminded Nurse Do that she did say that they might end up having feelings for each other if they get locked up together in some uninhibited island somewhere. He also added that all the other members of the clinic agreed to it too so in his mind she was being silly denying that hahaha…

Nurse Do said what she said because she wanted to light up a spark for Daeyoung to take action because he looked too scared to make a move on Hongran when it was obvious that he did like her. Then Nurse Do added that she felt humiliated and it was a shame on her part to bring her family down by accidentally kissing him like that. Mr. Bin was acting childish again by asking Nurse Do if she is quitting because she wants to find glory and honor for her family’s namesake in the most infantile way possible.

Nurse Do told Daeyoung that she wanted to go traveling until her savings ran out and Dr. Bin seemed taken aback by this though. It’s been her dream to go traveling with the money she saved up and travel around until her money ran out. Nurse Do wanted to make her dreams come true before she got too old. Daeyoung looked shocked and he felt like he had no right to stop her. Nurse Do was on her way out to find her own happiness somewhere else by doing something she’s been dreaming of for quite some time.

Jungwoo was just tapping his fingers and sighing, he was obviously deep in thought about something. Daeyoung went into the office where Jungwoo was looking all down. Daeyoung was sighing and Jungwoo was wondering what was going on and the younger asked the older if he was alright. Of course Daeyoung answered no to Jungwoo’s question, Mr. Bin was not fine right now.

Daeyoung got a complaint from a client/patient, Hongran saw his weakest moment, and now even Nurse Do is gonna be quitting on top of everything else too. Jungwoo was like huh? Really? Daeyoung told the younger one that all the bad things just happened at once for him. Daeyoung expressed that he was able to come this far with his clinic because of Nurse Do making it happen with the big and small things.

Daeyoung couldn’t help but to feel this huge loss because he depended on Nurse Do a lot with big and small things regarding his clinic. Jungwoo knew and understood that Daeyoung would definitely feel the vacant spot without her since he relied on her so much.

But Jungwoo thought maybe he should try to stop her from leaving. Daeyoung thought it would be useless because even if he managed to stop her from leaving he wouldn’t be able to feel at ease though. Daeyoung said that it was the right thing to just let her go since it’s her dream to travel after all.

Jungwoo didn’t know what he meant by dream so he had to fill him in on it. Daeyoung explained that it’s Nurse Do’s dream to travel around the world with the money she saved up and she wants to travel until her money runs out.

Daeyoung told Jungwoo that when Nurse Do told him that he thought it was so cool because it’s a great thing to have something you would want to do. Daeyoung was saying how her eyes were sparkling when she was telling him about it and he realized there’s a time for everything where you can only do certain things for a particular period of time. So Daeyoung felt it was wrong for him to make her postpone her dream because of his own selfishness and greed.

After hearing what Daeyoung was telling him Jungwoo couldn’t help but to attentively listen to him because it kinda reminded him of his situation with Haneul. Daeyoung was telling Jungwoo that it was the right thing for him to do to let Nurse Do go find her happiness.

After having a chit chat with Daeyoung, Jungwoo decided to give his girlfriend Haneul a call. It’s so cute how whenever Jungwoo calls her, the caller id says, “BOYFRIEND.”

Haneul looked so happy to pick up a phone call from her beloved boyfriend. The first thing she asked him was if he is off of work yet. And obviously Jungwoo is off of work now and Haneul said that she was gonna look at this chart before she leaves the office.

Jungwoo was wondering how long it’ll take for Haneul to get off work and she said about 10 minutes. And Jungwoo was like, can I wait for you in your office then? Jungwoo asked her this in his cute aegyo voice. A lot of the times when they do their aegyo voice it comes out really awkward, fake or just plain annoying but when Hyungsik or his characters use aegyo voice it could just easily melt your heart. Hyungsik and his characters look so cool when they are so manly but they are also able to pull off cuteness as well….HYUNGSIK, HOW DO YOU MAKE THIS HAPPEN?!

Jungwoo came into Haneul’s office with a big giant smile on his face. Haneul was wondering what he’s doing at her office and he was like, I came over so we could go home together babe….

Jungwoo told Haneul to do her thing and he’ll wait for her while he does his own work. Haneul told Jungwoo he doesn’t have to do that because she could just come to work extra early in the morning and look at the chart. Jungwoo and Haneul walked arm in arm and headed out. They stopped by a coffee shop and drank their evening coffee.

Jungwoo didn’t waste any time and he decided to mention about her going to study abroad for six months. He asked her if she told her manager that she is interested in taking this opportunity to study abroad for six months. Haneul told her manager that she needed more time to think about it. Jungwoo was wondering why she just didn’t tell him that she was interested in going but Haneul just had a hard time saying yes without hesitation. This goes to show that she was having a hard time just leaving her man in Korea all by himself.

Haneul thought that six months is pretty short but for some it could feel a bit long. Haneul felt like she talked about it so easily without considering what Jungwoo might think of the offer. Haneul felt bad because she saw how taken aback Jungwoo was when she initially told her about this offer.

Haneul thought that there could be so much to do in Korea since she barely got hired as the assistant professor and Haneul thought she has been living the good life here in Korea ever since she took the new position so it wasn’t really necessary to go abroad to study. Besides, Haneul didn’t want to be apart from her beloved Yeo Jungwoo and her boyfriend most definitely agreed with this. Jungwoo told Haneul that he doesn’t want to be separated from Haneul so that’s why he was able to relate to her saying that she doesn’t want to be apart from him.

Jungwoo said it’s a big loss when he doesn’t get to see his pretty girlfriend for six whole months. Then Jungwoo decided to be cool and told her that he had a change of heart for the better. Jungwoo was telling Haneul that there are things that you could only do at a certain period of time in your life and he felt that it was wrong to take that time away from her so she should just go. Jungwoo tried his best to convince himself and told her that six months will go by really fast, they call each other often as they possibly can and he’ll go visit her when he finds the time to do so.

Haneul was like really? Obviously she was touched by her boyfriend sacrificing himself to stay apart for six months for her dream. Haneul couldn’t believe that he was willing to even go to the States to visit her. Jungwoo didn’t mind doing that for her because he thought she could show him around the hospital that she would be studying/training while he’s there.

Jungwoo was letting Haneul know that he was trying to be cool pretending that it was okay at first because he was taken aback at the beginning but he is very sincere about  wanting her to go and spread her wings like she should.

Jungwoo wished her well and she seemed to be very touched by his kindness and generosity. However, there was one condition which was fairly easy to fulfill. Jungwoo wanted Haneul to spend tons of time with him before she leaves and go on all the different kinds of dates that he wants as well. Haneul was willing to do that and she gave him a pleasant smile while thanking him. Jungwoo thanked her too and Haneul gave her boyfriend a shy but appreciative smile too.

Then Jungwoo decided to act if it was obvious that he was taken aback by the news about Haneul getting the offer to go study/train abroad in the STATES. Haneul was like, not at all. But Jungwoo couldn’t believe it so he gave her that stare as in, I don’t believe you and I bet you were able to tell that I was acting obvious hehehe…

Then Haneul was like, I’m telling you the truth, you didn’t look obvious at all then she got a call. Haneul got a call from her manager and Jungwoo was trying to sit up straight because it’s an important call and he wanted to be supportive towards his lovely girlfriend Nam Haneul.

Haneul was telling her manager that she’s been thinking it over and she couldn’t continue on but Jungwoo gave her the look of approval. Oh man, Jungwoo is such a generous man and not just that he is a full blown gentleman…..Haneul got the sign of approval from Jungwoo and then she smiled briefly and finally she made the decision to give her manager the answer. Haneul told her manager that she will take this offer that’s given to her.

Haneul took the offer with Jungwoo’s approval and he told her she did a good job for saying yes but she couldn’t help but to wonder if she’ll do a good job or not. Jungwoo said she’ll definitely do a good job and he gave her a high five.

Jungwoo and Haneul were both laughing together and smiling at each other, I find these two so cute. Haneul couldn’t help but to feel weirded out by this whole situation and Jungwoo was wondering why she was thinking that way. Haneul couldn’t help but to be weirded out by the thought that after she’s gone for a while, Jungwoo would have to walk these roads all alone, I guess she had a hard time picturing her man walking home alone without her. Jungwoo just gave her the sign of approval but she is reminding him that there will be this void while she is away….shame on you Haneul…LOL!

Jungwoo looked like he was about to cry and Haneul was like, six months will go by quickly right? Jungwoo was like of course, it’ll go by fast but he didn’t seem so convinced though although he is trying his best to be because he doesn’t want to be that guy who blocks his woman’s way of success and he also wants her dreams to come true as well.

Jungwoo was asking Haneul in this crying voice, you’re gonna call me often right? Then Haneul was asking her boyfriend in a crying voice, you’re gonna come and visit me right? Jungwoo nodded saying that he will go and visit her while looking like he was gonna sob right in front of her. Jungwoo hugged Haneul and she said that she’ll miss him very much while stomping on her feet. Jungwoo was like, I still miss you when you are right in front of me. Haneul was like, what am I gonna do? The couple was stomping their feet and shaking their legs.

Haneul was calling Jungwoo’s name while Jungwoo was telling her how he misses her already and she hasn’t even left just yet. Jungwoo was hugging Haneul really tight and he was telling her that he didn’t want to stay apart from her. Jungwoo was saying all this in that childish tantrum throwing voice. It looked as if Jungwoo was vibrating when he was hugging Haneul because he was shaking so much.

Then Haneul got called over to the manager’s office and he told her that he was gonna cancel the plan of sending her over to the States. Haneul couldn’t believe that he had a change of heart already when she went through so much mental and even emotional preparation. It was hard for her to make this decision because of Jungwoo and she finally decided to take the offer while she was having a hard time saying yes because of Jungwoo and now he wants to cancel the whole thing and pretend that they never even talked about it? I could kinda see why Haneul was taken aback and even looked upset by this sudden change of situation.

There was this professor named Na Sungsik who wanted to send someone else by the name, Professor. Kim Jinyi. But the offer went to the Professor. Nam because Professor. Kim was taking too long to give them an answer.

But Professor.Kim finally gave them the answer saying that she’ll take the offer. It looked like Professor Na thought it would be better if Professor Kim went over to the States for this particular program. Haneul’s manager felt bad that they had to cancel the whole thing on her but he promised her if they have an opportunity like this the next time he’ll make sure to recommend Haneul first and she’ll be the priority on his list.

Haneul wanted to say something but the manager had to go because he was a busy man. Haneul looked really disappointed and she thought they shouldn’t have even brought it up if it was gonna be like this. Haneul was sighing out of disappointment/ let down and maybe even from a small amount of frustration.

Haneul got off the bus and he ran into Jungwoo and she was wondering if he just got off work but that wasn’t the case at all. He decided to do a half day’s work because Haneul said that she’s gonna be getting off early today. Jungwoo decided to do just half a day and waited for Haneul so he could go on a date with her. Jungwoo meant what he said before about going on lots of dates with Haneul before she leaves for the States.

Jungwoo had a few good date ideas but he narrowed it down to five of them and one of them was waiting for his girlfriend quietly then when he ran into her, walk home while holding hands together.

Haneul was gonna tell Jungwoo that the plan for her going to the States has been canceled but Jungwoo just wouldn’t give her a chance to tell him about it. Jungwoo was like, don’t worry, I didn’t wait for you for that long, babe … .Jungwoo looked at his watch and was like, maybe I’ve been waiting for you for like 17 minutes?

Jungwoo held Haneul’s hands and skipped lightly over to the spicy rice cake vendors with her. I noticed that there are so many spicy rice cake eating scenes in this show. Spicy rice cake is one of Shikkie’s favorite foods of all time but this show definitely makes tribute to Park Hyungsik unlike the other shows he’s been in thus far. They ordered the main menu which was the spicy rice cake and they also ordered some Korean blood sausage, deep fried veggies and some fish cakes too.

Jungwoo was like, I love eating out in these snack shop street vendors with you. Yoo Changsoo from High Society would have never done this. I remember a scene where Jiyi wanted to take Changsoo out to one of these places but he was making faces like how dare you try to take me to those commoner type places! However, Jungwoo loves these commoner types of eateries. Actually he seems to like both fancy and commoner types of places.

Jungwoo was like, we don’t have many days left to do this but he doesn’t realize that they canceled sending her to the States though, silly man.

Jungwoo was still thinking that she is departing to the States next month on the third. Haneul kept on trying to bring up the fact that her going to the States had been canceled  but he wouldn’t even give her a chance to talk. Jungwoo was like, I’m sorry for reminding you, you don’t have to be so burdened about it.

Jungwoo said he just felt sad thinking about how he’ll be apart from her for six months but he didn’t mean to stop her in any way shape or form. Jungwoo added on by saying that he is indeed proud of a modern woman like her spreading her wings to find her dream and make it come true. Jungwoo told Haneul that when she comes back after six months they could eat the spicy rice cakes everyday so it’s not so bad when you think about it. Jungwoo was trying really hard to convince himself but he really doesn’t have to now because Haneul doesn’t have to go after all but he is not giving her a chance to talk…..SHUT UP YEO JUNGWOO! JUST LET THE WOMAN TALK!

Haneul was trying to explain to Jungwoo that she doesn’t have to go anymore and he doesn’t have to feel sad about it but he just wouldn’t let her talk argh! Jungwoo was like, I’m not trying to burden you with my complaints and tantrums so I want you to understand that, okay? Hehehe….Geesh, sometimes Jungwoo doesn’t know how to shut up. If he lets her talk he would find out that she doesn’t have to go anymore, what a dork!

Haneul nodded and then Jungwoo was like, we’re gonna do something else now and then he took her to the arcade. Guess what they were playing? You guessed it! They were playing tetris! Haneul looked so darn annoyed because she wanted to just tell him already but he wasn’t really giving her a chance to let him know that she doesn’t have to go anymore. Haneul was looking at Jungwoo more like staring at him and he was wondering why she was just staring at him that way.

Jungwoo was telling her why he brought her over to the arcade which they haven’t done in a while. He was telling her the day when he first brought her over to the Arcade. Haneul looked so excited when she was getting coins out from the change machine that looked so cute to Jungwoo at the time. Jungwoo thought that moment when he first realized that she was the cutest thing ever! Jungwoo wanted to drop by again with Haneul because he couldn’t help but to think about that precious day. Jungwoo wanted to cry again and he didn’t know he was feeling like this.

Then Haneul was like, I have something to tell you, I’m canceling to go study abroad … .then Jungwoo was like don’t you say that babe, I was momentarily teary eyed but I’m really okay sweetheart hehehe….JUNGWOO STOP LYING, YOU ARE NOT OKAY! YOU CAN’T LIVE A SINGLE DAY WITHOUT NAM HANEUL! HEHEHE

Jungwoo was like I’m not gonna just gonna sit down and cry while you are gone and I’m gonna wait for you as I constantly reinvent myself. Jungwoo was about to continue on with what he was gonna say to Haneul but he got interrupted by a phone call. Whoever Jungwoo was talking to on the phone he said he’ll be right there in about 10 minutes. Haneul thought the situation was getting weirder by the minute and she kept on losing the opportunity to tell Jungwoo about her situation. Jungwoo told her not to worry about him and just focus on herself and her life. Jungwoo was so distracted that he just let his game go and of course he was losing because of it and Haneul just felt helpless cus she couldn’t stop Jungwoo just talking and talking.

Finally Jungwoo and Haneul managed to arrive home and Haneul was like what the heck was going on here? It was a surprise party that they were throwing for her because they all think that she’s gonna be going to the States.

Jungwoo prepared a surprise party for Haneul since it’s apparently American style and she is going to America so it fits perfectly in his mind. Jungwoo wanted to throw a little farewell party for Haneul with her family members. Haneul couldn’t understand any of this. Jungwoo and her mother kept on telling her to come on the bench and sit because her legs would hurt if she just stood there. Jungwoo grabbed Haneul and got her to sit on the wooden bench so they could celebrate and say goodbye to her.

Jungwoo/Hyungsik looks so good in white, I can’t emphasize this enough. White looks good with his skin tone. I don’t think Hyungsik had super white skin when he was a kid though. From all of his childhood pictures his skin looked more tan than white…..

Haneul’s mother and Bada looked sad that Haneul is gonna be gone for a while, they were feeling sad that she is leaving for six months but probably it isn’t as bad as Jungwoo though.Jungwoo needs to find out soon that she isn’t gonna be leaving anymore so he won’t be sad everyday. Haneul’s uncle Taesun didn’t look as sad though he handed her his bankbook so she could have an easier time while she’s away. Uncle Taesun told her to not be a workaholic while she’s there like before. Haneul’s uncle told her to go travel and use that money to do so and also spend it on good food too while she’s at it.

Haneul’s mom also had a gift for her dear daughter and it was a pillow made out of buckwheat. Mrs. Kong was saying that a lot of Koreans feel uncomfortable when it comes to pillows when they are overseas so that’s why she made it for her. Haneul’s mom stayed up all night making the pillow too just for her beloved daughter. She told her to use the pillow she made while she was in the States and have sweet dreams from having it on her head. Haneul’s mother was crying again and Bada started singing a song. It’s funny how the great singer Jungwoo/Hyungsik wasn’t singing along hehehe….

Haneul was looking so awkward although she was trying not to. Bada either made or bought this cake for Haneul with her face on it saying, CONGRATULATIONS KOREAN WAVE DOCTOR FOR  ADVANCING YOUR CAREER IN THE US!

Jungwoo looked so cute wearing that little headband on him and I couldn’t help but to get emotional while watching him getting ready to burst into tears again. And then Haneul’s phone went off and Jungwoo saw the message from her manager apologizing to her about the opportunity for her to go study in the US. Haneul’s manager said via text that she will have other opportunities so she shouldn’t feel so bad about it. What a way to find out, he wouldn’t have been surprised by this text if he just let her talk hehehe…

Uncle Taesun was like our dear Korean Wave/ Hallyu doctor Nam Haneul will be advancing her career Overseas..! All of Haneul’s family members were happy for her and cheering for her. Mrs. Kong was about to open the champagne bottle but Haneul couldn’t take it anymore so she thought it would be better if she came clean about this. Then Jungwoo came to the rescue, he decided to take the matters into his own hands so he grabbed Haneul by the shoulders and said that he can’t do without her so he won’t be able to send her off by herself. Jungwoo just went for it, he hugged Haneul super tight and told her not to go.

Jungwoo was holding her so tight that she couldn’t even breathe so she decided to come up for some air but he grabbed her again and held her as tight as he could and said that he can’t do without her while dramatically crying.

Jungwoo was like promise me that you won’t go, okay? It got so dramatic that Jungwoo was shaking the poor woman and Haneul’s family was so confused by what was going on. Haneul’s mom and uncle were like, what the heck is going on? They looked confused but yet they also had this expression of pity towards our dear Yeo Jungwoo. Even Bada’s facial expressions showed pity for his adoptive big bro, Jungwoo.

Haneul was like let go of me, Jungwoo! And Jungwoo was like, please don’t leave me! Please don’t go, Haneul! Jungwoo was hamming it up so much that at this point I had a hard time being able to tell if he was acting or not. Jungwoo already expressed himself earlier about how he really didn’t want her to go even if he’s not the guy that would stop his woman to spread her wings and doing whatever she wants to do so that’s why I don’t think he is acting but yet I also feel like he’s putting on a dramatic twist here so Haneul’s family will get the point.

And Bam! The champagne popped and it was spraying everywhere while wetting people in the process. I loved how Jungwoo was trying to protect Haneul from champagne getting on her so she won’t get wet so he was hugging her and protecting her from champagne waterfalls. I don’t mean to feel this way but I kinda envy Haneul/Shinhye although I do ship them and all.

Jungwoo is such a romantic guy because after that champagne fiasco he brought her into his room and then was cleaning her up, he is such a helpful gentleman. Jungwoo was like you have so much champagne on you and the way Haneul was looking at him was like what’s going on, am I missing something kind of look. Haneul is a smart cookie so she was able to put two and two together and figured it out but Jungwoo had no idea what she was talking about because he was still pretending, what a silly character this Yeo Jungwoo guy is.

Haneul was like , you are the one who told me that I should go because you are not the type of man to stop a woman’s successful path so why now? Why are you stopping me now? Then Haneul was like, you were able to sense that I’m not able to go to the States to study right? Jungwoo had to let Haneul know what’s up. He told her that he saw the text message that she got from her manager. Haneul was like, what? A message? Haneul had no idea that she got a text message from her boss. Jungwoo had no idea what was going on, he couldn’t understand why her going to the States got canceled.

Haneul told Jungwoo that some other professor got to go instead of her and Jungwoo was like, what a ridiculous hospital that is, how could they do that to you? Jungwoo told Haneul that they shouldn’t be messing around with someone like that going back and forth.

Jungwoo felt bad for her because it’s such an unfair situation and she probably didn’t have a chance to tell her boss about how she felt about losing this opportunity. Jungwoo was wrong though because this time she was able to fully express how she felt about the situation for once unlike before.

Haneul’s manager was heading out and Haneul interrupted him. Haneul said sir, I need to have a word with you…if Professor Kim refused to go, doesn’t that mean it’s already over? And since Professor Kim didn’t want to go and the offer came to me and I said I’ll go so it’s only fair that I get to go, isn’t that right sir? Dang, Haneul isn’t the Haneul that we knew from the beginning of the show. Haneul grew as a character and she wouldn’t let anybody stomp all over her now, she learned her lesson from all that pain and suffering.

Haneul told her manager that she thought about it carefully before making such a decision but she had to overturn it which annoyed her and she was now woman enough to express that to her boss. Haneul was being firm while still remaining polite at the same time. Haneul decided to be straight to the point and asked him if this is all because Kim Jinyi Professor is from the same stock as the director. The manager couldn’t believe that Professor Nam was being straight forward but it seems like he still doesn’t realize that Nam Haneul is not the same Nam Haneul she used to be.

Haneul told her boss that she’s not like how she used to be and she promised herself to express herself when she came back to work for the hospital again. Haneul wants to at least be honest with herself and express her disappointments/let downs. She wants to let people know when she feels offended too. She wants to be able to honestly express her simple feelings even if nothing’s gonna change. Haneul thought it would be much healthier for her mental well-being to express those thoughts and feelings instead of suppressing them like how she used to do in the past.

Haneul told Jungwoo that she was upset for a little bit but she mustered up the courage and honestly told her manager that she is quite disappointed in the situation. Haneul said this isn’t a big deal when she experienced a lot more in the past.

Haneul was like, I am grateful that you had to do what you did to protect me but I’m gonna tell my whole family about it too. Haneul said that it’s not something she should hide from her family members anyway.

Jungwoo was laughing and Haneul didn’t understand why though. Jungwoo felt like something has definitely changed and Haneul was like, are you talking about me? And Jungwoo nodded saying that she is right about her changing as a person in such a short amount of time.

Haneul was like yeah, I think I have changed. She still didn’t seem so sure about it but she couldn’t deny that she was the same working stiff like how she was before. I think the thing with Kyungmin taught her a lot and she was taken advantage of because she was so naive then but now that chapter of her life is over and she has turned a new leaf.

Haneul mentioned about the five different dates he wanted and she was wondering how many they have done so far and how many they have left. Jungwoo was counting off all the ones they have done so far. They walked home after getting off of work, going to the arcade, and the farewell party that they did just now, so they did three so far and that means they have two more to go according to Jungwoo.

Haneul thought it would be a good idea for them to do the rest since he thought long and hard about it so his ideas shouldn’t be wasted. It didn’t matter to Haneul that she was not going to the States anymore. Haneul wanted to know the remaining two that he wanted to do before she left for America.

The next thing Jungwoo wanted to do was cook a delicious home cooked Korean meal for Haneul. Jungwoo knows that there’s Korean food in America too but he felt that it wouldn’t be the same as his personal Korean home cooking. Haneul was super excited about this and she thought his Korean cooking would be very delicious. Haneul was asking if she could look forward to it because he already proved himself last time with the way he made Kimbap last time when they went on that so-called Special High School field trip.

Jungwoo was like don’t get too excited now or else you’ll faint but Haneul was like I’m totally stoked! Haneul was so excited that she was covering her mouth with both hands while giggling like a little girl. Haneul wanted to finally hear about the last one. Jungwoo whispered something in her ears and was like, I’m not telling, it’s a secret. Haneul was like you scared me, what is it? Tell me!

Haneul’s narration started again. Haneul’s narration voice was saying that if this was her before she would have complained and asked why not me? Why didn’t you pick me? What do I lack? And she would have collapsed while chastising and punishing herself in the process. Haneul was looking at her medicine and said to herself that she realized something, when you are not pleased with the results of what you started just be disappointed for a short while and just look forward to good luck for the next time and just prepare for the next opportunity quietly.

——————————————————————————————————————————-

Somebody was chopping up the veggies, carrots to be exact and the person that’s chopping up the carrots is Jungwoo and the pose of him chopping of veggies is so hot, just like the time when he was making himself a cup of coffee like in the earlier part of Dr. Slump. Also, Jungwoo chopping up veggies made me think about Cha Dalbong from What Happens to my Family.

Jungwoo/Hyungsik looks so good in white! OMG! Jungwoo/Hyungsik in white is so HOT! Jungwoo was cooking for Haneul in some rented Old fashioned Korean style housing from the Joseon period.

The way Jungwoo looked while chopping up the veggies was so darn sexy and beautiful all at the same time. It’s funny because I feel like either Dalbong or Lee Hwan would come out at any time and that’s because Dalbong was a kitchen staff at Eunho’s restaurant and Lee Hwan was the Crowned Prince/Crowned King of Joseon.

Haneul came and held him then asked if he needed any help from her but Jungwoo told her that she is already being a big help just by looking so beautiful with her killer visuals. Then Haneul was like, what the? You are so weird in her charming aegyo voice again. Ever since Hnauel started dating Jungwoo she became a person with a lot of charm and aegyo. Oh and I also want to mention that Haneul/Shinhye really looks good in white too. Jungwoo was like, it’s the truth, you have stunning visuals cus of your utmost beauty. Jungwoo is such a hopeless romantic and a sweetheart.

Haneul looked at the food that Jungwoo made and thought it looked really delicious and yes it really did look so good. The table was set kinda like the food that you would see for the King’s table back in the Joseon period. Haneul was like this is more than just any Korean food, it’s more like the table for the King!

Haneul was curious to how Jungwoo made all that and she couldn’t help but be amazed by Jungwoo’s cooking skills. Jungwoo really is a fast learner because he said he only attended this thing called the daily cooking class for a few days and he remembered how to make all that, Jungwoo is such a genius indeed!

Haneul just couldn’t help but to giggle and same went for Jungwoo as well. These two are so cute together.Jungwoo was like, hurry up and eat and Haneul said, thanks for the grub! Haneul was gonna pick up the food for herself but Jungwoo was like let me do it for you … .Jungwoo picked a certain dish and put it on a Haneul plate and asked her if she thought it tasted good. Obviously, Haneul loved it and she thought it was the best! Haneul couldn’t believe that his cooking skills were this good when he only took it for a few days. Jungwoo stood up and Haneul was giggling like the happiest person in the world and her narration started again.

Haneul was saying that life isn’t so shabby if you can’t seem to find the kind of treasure you want anytime and anywhere. Perhaps it could be tomorrow or at a different place. The fortune that was waiting for me exists somewhere. Sometimes, I feel like Haneul and Jungwoo are such poets in this show, I love their soothing narrations. Haneul decided to put faith in herself once and for all.

——————————————————————————————————————————-

Haneul went to visit her doctor and he asked her if she’s really doing alright and if she really thinks that way and she answered positively to that. Haneul’s doctor was really worried about her when she saw Min Kyungmin’s photo that one time and also when he saw what happened on the news on TV. The doctor told Haneul that it’s a relief to see Haneul to come out strong and looking good even after what happened.

Haneul asked the doctor if he really thinks like that and the doctor asked her back what she thinks about it all. The doctor asked Haneul if she does think that she is all the way healthy now then Haneul answered that she is doing way better than before. The doctor thought that it might be a good idea to examine her again since it’s been awhile now and Haneul agreed to it.

Haneul had to fill out a form with different questions. She wrote I feel good, and I feel relaxed. I do feel that way, I’m not particularly optimistic about my future, Yes I do, I am not disappointed with myself, I do, and When I look back at my life I constantly failed were some of her answers.

Haneul was looking back to some of the things that happened since she started becoming closer to Jungwoo like going to Sokcho to see the sunrise and missing it then the dumpling date. The dumpling date was cute because Jungwoo was petting Haneul’s head, I still remember that from weeks ago.

And the beach scene from Episode 3 reminded me of Minhyuk and Bongsoon from Strong Woman Do Bongsoon. The time they went on the field trip, Jungwoo kissing Haneul’s head, Jungwoo holding Haneul’s hand for the first time, Jungwoo kissing Haneul on the hand while they were watching a movie in the theater, Haneul hugging Jungwoo for his loss, Jungwoo hugging Haneul, Jungwoo hugging her romantically, Jungwoo and Haneul twirling each other around, the two laying on the same bed for the first time, Jungwoo, putting on a proposal ring on Haneul, and the two hugging each other after the company dinner. Haneul made a check mark to one of the last questions and it was time for the doctor to do an evaluation on her.

The doctor told Haneul that her treatment is finished and she no longer has to come back anymore. Haneul wasn’t sure so she asked him if she should really do that. The doctor told Haneul that she now has the power to overcome her pain so that’s why she doesn’t have to come back anymore. The doctor told Haneul that everything that she worked so hard for up until now will protect her from now on. Haneul looked so relieved, happy, and moved all at the same time. She was smiling and a bit teary eyed at the same time too. Haneul told the doctor that he didn’t have to see her off but he said it makes him feel better when he sees the patient off when it’s their last treatment.

Haneul was looking around and observing the place, she seemed surprised to see so many people that have an illness. The doctor was asking Haneul, there are a lot of people that are not well right? The doctor was saying that the people that want to read go to the library, the people that want to look at art go to the art gallery and people come to this clinic if they want to get well. The doctor was telling Haneul that all these people are here at his clinic to get well. However, the doctor was hopeful that these people will get better sooner or later.

Then Haneul asked the doctor what it means to get well and what it means to become happy in the end. The doctor told her that sometimes you accept that misfortune does happen. The doctor told her to accept the fact that unfortunate situations do happen. Even if unfortunate situations/misfortune do happen, I have the power to endure it. The doctor was pretty much telling her that it’s all about accepting the worse case scenario and be strong and endure it. It’s about having the faith to pull through when things get tough from time to time.

Bada and Mrs. Kong went to a fancy store that sold purses. Bada wanted to buy his mom a purse since according to him she didn’t have a proper purse to carry around. Bada said he saved for another month because he realized that it would be impossible to buy his mother a proper purse with his first pay.

Bada wanted to buy his mom this one black leather purse that he’s been eyeing on but Mrs. Kong said it was unnecessary buying her a bag with his hard earned money. The mom decided to look at the price tag and was shocked to see how much it cost so she thought it would be better if they just left.

Bada was wondering why she wanted to leave because it was his dream to buy his mother a purse if he ever made some money on his own but she still wanted to leave. However, Bada seemed pretty determined to buy his mother a purse so he tried to get the attention of one of the sales ladies there. Bada was like, excuse me ma’am, we would like to see this purse right here … .Then Bada was like, this purse is totally my mom’s style hehehe…

Bada was like, it’s nice isn’t it? Just take a look at it mom and Mrs. Kong just wanted to leave, she’s just not used to nice things I guess. They ended up not buying the purse because Mrs. Kong just ran off and Bada had no choice but to chase after her so it didn’t happen. Maybe I would be able to make it happen if I wrote a Dr. Slump fanfic or something hehehe……

Daeyoung, Hongran, and Hongran’s little boy Jinwoo came for a picnic. They brought some rice rolls and fruits. They really looked like a one beautiful family unit. Daeyoung was moved and amazed that Hongran prepared this all by herself and she said she did all this in the morning after she got up. However, Jinwoo wasn’t having it, so he asked his mom if there’s no sausage or fried chicken. Jinwoo was even doing his hand motion to look like a chicken to look cute for his mom but she said there’s nothing else besides the stuff they brought so he has to eat that.

Hongran was telling her little boy that it’s not good to be a picky eater and he was like she shouldn’t be talking since she doesn’t eat carrots either. Hongran was like, I’m a grown up now so I don’t have to since I grew this much already. Jinwoo was like, that’s not fair, you are a grown up so you should set an example.

Jinwoo looked at Daeyoung and asked his opinion about all this and Dae said he agreed with Jinwoo since the grown up should be the one setting the example. Then Hongran was like, are you saying that I’m a mother that’s not able to set a goodexample, am I that mess as a mother?

Daeyoung was like, it’s nothing like that at all, I was just taking Jinwoo’s side because he is a little kid. Jinwoo was like, did you just say you are taking my side because I’m a child? Are you treating me like a child now? Then Daeyoung was like, it’s nothing like that at all Jinwoo. Jinwoo was like, mom cheer up and have some shiny muscat grapes.

Hongran was like, that’s my boy, my son is the only one that cares for mommy. Hongran fed his little boy some grapes too and asked if it’s delicious. Daeyoung was sad because he was left out. Hongran expressed how adorable her little boy was and then it cut to Bada and Mrs. Kong the mother.

Bada took his mother to a coffee shop and they both ordered some fancy dessert. Bada’s mother looked impressed by the wallet and Bada had to make a comment saying that she has no ambition at all. Bada’s mom was saying that it’s a bit much to buy a handbag that cost 180 thousand won when her boy made only 200 thousand wom in two months, she said only a person that has dementia would go for that. Mrs. Kong was saying that she appreciates the wallet more because it’s more for everyday use.

Bada’s mom liked the fact that her boy was now making money because he would buy her stuff like a nice new wallet and a nice cup of ice cream too. Bada was like, I’m not able to be a good son but I’m still useful aren’t I? Mrs. Kong was like, don’t say that cus your sister is good to me in her own ways and you are good to me in your own ways but he couldn’t believe that because she scolded him for so many years.

Bada was like, I don’t believe you because all you did was scold me everyday and she was like no, I may have scolded you everyday but you are still precious to me. To Mrs. Kong Both Haneul and Bada are her precious children. Bada was like, stop with the lies, I know I am not as important as sis. Bada was like I’m just an ordinary civilian and sis is a doctor so it’s different, you would feel more proud of sis than me.

Then Bada went on to say that everything is predestined and their fates have already been decided. Bada was like, you named sis Haneul because she was born when the sky was blue and beautiful but you named me without thinking too much about it but you needed a name that would go well with Haneul. By the way, Haneul means sky in Korean and Bada means sea/ocean in Korean.

Mrs. Kong was like, that’s not true, you became Bada because I saw it in my dream before you were born. Bada couldn’t believe it so he was like, oh really? And Mrs. Kong was like of course, it’s the truth. Bada’s mother was telling Bada about the dream she had before he was born. The ocean was beautiful, sparkling brightly through the sunlight and there was a rainbow over it. After the mother woke up from the dream she couldn’t forget it so she was gonna name Bada, Moojigae Nam but decided to go with Nam Bada instead. I’m glad she went with Bada/Sea instead of Mujigae/Rainbow. Bada realized that his name had more meaning and significance than he realized.

Mrs. Kong said that Bada is like a shining rainbow over the ocean no matter what he does. Bada’s mom said it doesn’t matter if he decides to become a building owner, take over Uncle Taesun’s shop or whatever that may be. Bada’s mom told Bada that all he has to do is be himself and shine brightly that way. Bada thought that his mom was being cheesy today saying all kinds of things that gave him goosebumps like the seven different colors of the rainbow.

Bada told his mom to strike a pose so he could take a picture of his mom and Mrs. Kong was definitely fine with that. Bada told his mom to smile and she was holding onto the new wallet that her boy bought for her. Both the mother and son were smiling and being happy together. Bada said that the picture came out well and Mrs. Kong told him to send it to her through social media. Bada was like, wow you look pretty mom and she found her photo that Bada just took of her. It seemed like Bada and Haneul’s mom was happy with the picture that her boy just took of her.

Meanwhile, back at the park, Jinwoo was playing while the two grown ups were sitting on the grass just chilling but Daeyoung looked like he was dozing off. Daeyoung wasn’t dozing off, he was just yawning and he explained to Hongran that he didn’t yawn just now. Daeyoung said he didn’t sleep much the night before because he was busy looking at the research papers for the seminar. Hongran was able to understand and that’s why she said, I bet you are pretty tired then.

Hongran asked Daeyoung if he wanted a cup of coffee but it wasn’t a cup of coffee, it was that coffee candy that this show was advertising big time! Obvious product placement! Hongran looked at Daeyoung and said he looked like he had no energy at all since he was tired from not being able to sleep well the night before.

Daeyoung told Hongran that he felt embarrassed facing her these days and she couldn’t understand the reason why. Daeyoung decided to tell her that it was because of that one incident that happened at the clinic. Hongran said that there was nothing for him to be embarrassed about because that patient was the weird one and she was the one in the wrong. Daeyoung couldn’t help but to feel embarrassed by what happened that day at the clinic.

Daeyoung was telling Hongran that he promised her on that day when they were making plum wine that he promised to look after her and take care of her but unfortunately he became the one that got protected by her instead. Hongran told him it doesn’t matter who protects who since whoever is more capable should be the one looking after the other person.

But Daeyoung wanted to be the cool oppa that protects his woman. Hongran said she is not seeing Daeyoung just for the cool parts about him. Hongran likes the fact that Daeyoung is a warm and sweet guy. Hongran realized over the years that nice guys are the best. Hongran likes the fact that Daeyoung is a humble and genuine guy to play with Jinwoo while squatting down, just to look for some ants and this really impressed her big time.

Then Hongran changed the subject to Jungwoo and Nurse Do. Hongran was saying that it would have been hard for letting Jungwoo go after he let Nurse Do quit so she could keep that promise to herself about traveling with the money she saved up until it all runs out.

Daeyoung said that letting Jungwoo go wasn’t that hard but rather easy for him to do. Daeyoung felt that since things are back to normal for Jungwoo again, it’s only right for him to open up his own shop that fits into his style. Daeyoung felt all he did was send Jungwoo to the place that he’s meant to be so he could do his own thing that fits into his creative style.

The scene went back to earlier when Daeyoung was talking to Jungwoo about Nurse Do leaving the clinic for good. Daeyoung was telling Jungwoo that he is willing to send her away with a joyful heart then Daeyoung decided to let him know that he wanted to send Jungwoo away while he’s at it too. Jungwoo looked surprised because Daeyoung wanted to send him off too. From the looks of it, Jungwoo didn’t seem to think too much about leaving Dae’s clinic or more like at all….

Jungwoo didn’t understand why Daeyoung wanted to send him away and the older boy told him that it’s time for the younger to open up his own shop. Jungwoo didn’t seem mentally prepared to leave just yet because he’s only been working at Dae’s clinic for six months.

Daeyoung felt that it’s not important that he’s only been working for him for six months and the most important thing is the fact that Jungwoo is all better now. Jungwoo didn’t think the same way as Daeyoung, he looked like he wasn’t ready just yet. Jungwoo felt like the rumors of him dropping a mass while being on the operating table cost him his image and Daeyoung was the one who gave him the opportunity to be able to perform surgery on patients again. Jungwoo was obviously appreciative towards Daeyoung for giving him a chance so he wanted to pay him back for that at the very least.

Daeyoung was like, you quitting here is actually gonna be helping me, I can’t afford to pay you that much. Jungwoo was sighing really big and then Daeyoung said now is the time to leave. Daeyoung knew that Jungwoo is not the type that would mention it first so he had to push him to make him do it. Daeyoung is the hyung that Kyungming couldn’t have become. It’s sad now that I think about it cus Kyungmin had potential too but Jungwoo’s mother pushed him over the edge but now at least he has Daeyoung to look up to.

Hongran all of a sudden gave Daeyoung a hug and Daeyoung was like, oh what are you doing Miss, Hongran? I think Daeyoung is such an innocent goofball in this show unlike in What Happens to my Family. Hongran was saying that Daeyoung is such a good guy and she’s right he is such a sweetheart. It’s not easy to find a man that loves a woman and her kid even more so than the man that originally fathered the child. Hongran expressed how he loves Daeyoung just the way he is now.

I didn’t realize that Yoon Park had such a nice smile but of course it’s not as nice as my Park Hyungsik/Shikkie … .maybe I’m being biased here hehehe…

Hongran then asked Daeyoung how things are going along with his new clinic. Daeyoung seemed to have this weird imagination about how things would be with Jungwoo. Hongran said since he opened his own clinic he probably bought a nice car for himself now that he has a lot of money and then we got to see Dr. Yeo in a super nice car, Audi to be precise…Another product placement, Audi SUV is what we got to see several times in this show which was Haneul’s car and now we are seeing a nice AUDI sports car for Jungwoo but it seems like this is only in Daeyoung’s head…..

Jungwoo looked so darn hot in his expensive looking suit and he looks so good in his black dress shoes too but then he rocks in them converse sneakers, slippers, cute animal slippers, sandals and even shoes from ancient times. Park Hyungsik is able to pull off any style of outfits and shoes from any era, Gosh I’m so jealous!

Then Daeyoung added that his comeback would be super fancy with his stylish suit and dress shoes, an expensive car and a super tall high rise building as well but in reality Jungwoo had something different in mind.

In reality Jungwoo was wearing his favorite semi casual outfit. He was in his sports jacket, white t-shirt underneath it, and a pair of blue jeans. The building that Jungwoo was looking at wasn’t a fancy high rise either. And instead of a fancy car, it looked like he had a motorcycle or a vespa looking vehicle.

Jungwoo’s clinic looked like a simple office building, it definitely wasn’t fancy the way Daeyoung imagined it. I think Daeyoung had the old Jungwoo in mind. Jungwoo was just looking around his new clinic that he’s gonna be opening up and it seemed like he had a lot on his mind. As Jungwoo was walking into his new clinic the camera showed the viewers the congratulation plants sent by Uncle Taesun wishing him the best. Jungwoo’s parents didn’t even seem to care about his new clinic. I mean, why would they care now when they never seemed to be around for him in the first place. Jungwoo’s parents are so different from Hyungsik’s actual parents….

Jungwoo seemed emotional for some reason and he looked like he was about to cry again, making that sniffing sound. Haneul his girlfriend came to congratulate her boyfriend of course. Haneul was like, are you crying? And Jungwoo was like, I feel kinda strange right now. Back then, Jungwoo took everything for granted because he thought opening up a clinic was just a natural thing to do but now everything seems so amazing to him. Ever since Jungwoo encountered Haneul again and started dating her he became a man who is much more true to his emotions. Haneul was amazed that her boyfriend was gonna finally open up his clinic and she was so proud of him.

Jungwoo was like, the sofa is so amazing, and the table here is so precious to me. I really love Hyungik’s comedic acting and I love how he was able to pull off slapstick comedy too.

Jungwoo was like, I want to do more charity work and I want to contribute to society more than ever before. Jungwoo wants to work hard and live life to  the fullest more than ever before in his entire life. Jungwoo was like, oh my precious life. Haneul was like, you are so silly, I can’t believe you…..

Jungwoo was being overly dramatic with facial expressions and gestures. Haneul was wondering if he would be okay with handling a clinic all by himself and she couldn’t help but to be worried about him because when he was working for Daeyoung there were other doctors besides him.

Jungwoo said he wanted to start out small, taking in just a small amount of patients which would give him time to have small talk with them as well. Jungwoo didn’t want to overdo it like before, he wants to be able to balance out his work and personal life which will be more healthy for him now. Jungwoo learned a lot ever since all that happened to him with the accident and also Haneul being a part of his life changed him in many ways.

Haneul brought Jungwoo some flowers and he was telling her that he didn’t have to bring all that in that whiney aegyo voice. Jungwoo is such a cutie like Park Hyungsik himself. Hanuel brought something to drink and she said she bought it so they could have a private open party or something like that. Then Jungwoo was like, open party? Just the two of us? Sometimes I feel like Jungwoo has a wild imagination although he tries his best to control it. Haneul nodded and said yes to the fact that it was just gonna be the two of them having this private open party at Jungwoo’s cozy but new clinic.

Jungwoo sat Haneul down and her narration began again. Wow, there are so many narrating scenes in this show but I love Jungwoo’s narration voice, it’s so soothing and meditative.

Haneul was saying that a new chapter began for Jungwoo and other people in her life were filling up their daily lives with meaningful things as well.

Haneul was narrating again, Bada was dreaming about being a celebrity on social media by using his famous wheat noodles. Bada was doing better so that he didn’t have to ask for 50,000 won like he used to.

As Bada was posting the bowl of wheat noodles on his social media page, some lady walked into the store and it was someone that Uncle Taesun knew for a long time now.

Some girl named Danbi came into Uncle Taesun’s store and he recognized her almost right away even though they hadn’t seen each other in years. Uncle Taesun was wondering how Danbi had been doing since they hadn’t seen each other for all this time. Bada was confused to see his uncle talking to some woman he hadn’t seen in a long time. Taesun was wondering what Danbi was doing and she said she was delivering some food for the customers but decided to stop by to have a bowl of wheat noodles.

Danbi was wondering what Taesun was doing in Seoul and he told her that he moved to Seoul a long time ago. It’s been so long since Taesun had seen Danbi. A long time ago, Danbi visited Busan from Seoul and she was lost so she was asking for directions to Uncle Taesun which he still remembers that day pretty vividly. Taesun and Danbi both said to each other that they haven’t changed much since then. Danbi was saying that Taesun looks the same as the time when he told her about Busan’s famous wheat noodles and Pork rice soup places. Taesun tried his best to show as much of Busan as possible to Danbi.

Danbi said that Taesun looked very warm and he was kind enough to show her everything he knew about this beloved Busan and she thought he still resembled the good ol days as the warm and kind man she remembers him as.

Danbi made it seem as if Taesun was gonna work at Haneul’s father’s fish cake factory. Danbi was right, that was his plan but that changed since there was a beautiful memory between him and Danbi. Uncle Taesun and Danbi had a lot of Milmyeon/Wheat noodles dating back then. Danbi was smiling thinking about the good ol days and Taesun continued by saying that if he opens up a milmyeon shop then one day Danbi might show up and now here she is right in front of him….Taesun thought that maybe if he opens up a milmyeon shop in Seoul, Danbi might show up one day and she really did.

Taesun asked Danbi if she is married and the answer was a no and Bada was watching this whole process and it seemed like he was cheering on his uncle. Then Taesun asked if Danbi is seeing anyone and the answer was a no to that one as well. Then Taesun was like okay that’s great. I want to safely assume that Danbi and Taesun got back together.

Now back to Haneul’s voice, her narration was saying that her dear uncle Taesun reencountered with his first love Danbi. Haneul was wishing that his life would be filled with happiness like the king sized dumplings he makes  since he’s been the consistent silent type over the years. It seemed like Bada was happy for his uncle too. Well, he is Dr. Love after all, he is the one that knows a lot about love, romance and flings.

Danbi looked really happy to meet Taesun again and vice versa. Danbi is a delivery girl and her delivery bag says: Delivery of Love…..It had a heart on it with utensils. And her tagline is: Ding Dong, a customer like sweet rain has arrived for your hungry lives.

Bada was taking bunch of snap shots of his mother and Mrs. Kong was making a whole lot of silly faces for the camera.

Haneul’s narration again, she was talking about how her mom used to cry a lot and now she has been laughing alot. Mrs. Kong no longer grows cabbages anymore. Haneul felt the feeling of warm love towards her mother because she was always working so hard to raise her and her little brother Bada.

Daeyoung decided to record something on his Neotube Channel again although the theme for it has changed unlike before. Now, Daeyoung’s Neotube channel is closer to being a children’s theme. I wonder if it’s because of Jinwoo, Hongran’s little boy. Daeyoung was playing a toy piano, he had moving/dancing cactuses that lit up and he had parrots on him too. And of course the parrots were toy parrots.

Daeyoung was telling his viewers why he has been absent for this long although he didn’t have many subscribers when he started out but now I don’t know how many subscribers he has ever since he stopped streaming. Daeyoung’s daughter Eunjung came out to check out his pathetic daddy.

Eunjung was sighing because she thought her dad was being pathetic and he asked her if she was embarrassed of him. However, Eunjung was more concerned about Hongran than her daddy. Eunjung said she is used to her daddy being silly like this but she didn’t want Hongran to think that her daddy was a weirdo.

Eunjung was wondering if Hongran knows that her daddy does silly things like this. Daeyoung told Eunjung that Hongran knows everything and she likes/loves him for who he is then he went on to tell his daughter that Hongran likes/loves him just the way he is now.

Hongran was watching the video that Daeyoung made and was smiling like a dork and she even gave the video a big thumbs up. Also, it looked like they took a photo resembling a family photo of Daeyoung, Hongran, Eunjung and Jinwoo.

Haneul’s narration was talking about Daeyoung and Hongran will be happy together more or less and feel the warm love of each other since they are so similar that they would understand and relate to each other.

Jungwoo, Haneul, Moogeun and Chanyoung’s teacher came to Moogeun and Chanyoung’s Korean spicy chicken kabob place. Mooegun was surprised to see their teacher and Chanyoung was wondering why the teacher came to their shop. The teacher said that he heard about the chicken kabob place from Jungwoo and Moogeun found out that the teacher went over to Jungwoo to get a surgery done on him. Moogeun was like I guess you needed to get your face done huh? But it looks like you didn’t get your face lifted.

The teacher told the boys that he got a back surgery and Chanyoung was like your back? It seems like you would need to get your face done more than your back hehehe…The teacher was like you boys are a bunch of goofballs like you used to be in high school. The teacher told the boys that he is not gonna buy any of their products and was about to leave and the boys were like we were just kidding, teacher, please come this way sir.

The boys told the teacher that they made the sauce themselves and the teacher was like really? The teacher told the boys it tastes really good and Chanyoung was like it’s really good isn’t it?

The teacher, Moogeun and Chanyoung cheered with their chicken kabobs and the teacher was like, good luck with your business and HIT THE JACKPOT! Haneul’s narration came on again and she was saying sometimes living day by day might be a difficult task then Kang Jinseok appeared on the screen.

Kang Jinseok was at a local coffee shop, drinking his coffee/tea while reading his book but he got a text message from Yeo Jungwoo saying: Doctor Kang, would you like to work at my new clinic? I really need someone that could work with me whom I am able to trust. Then Haneul’s narration continued on and she said we would be able to pick ourselves back up again and keep on living day by day, that’s what I believe.

The extra thing that Haneul brought earlier to Jungwoo’s new clinic was a bottle of wine along with a small bundle of flowers. Haneul went over to his new clinic to celebrate with him so that’s why she brought a bottle of wine. Jungwoo and Haneul were holding each other on the sofa then she brought up that one time from the past before they became a couple. When Haneul brought it up Jungwoo was wondering what she was talking about.

Haneul was talking about the time when she went to the courthouse to give Jungwoo the research paper about the case that’s kinda related to his situation. She fell and hurt her fingers that one time. Jungwoo seemed to remember that fortunately and Haneul continued on. Jungwoo treated her wounds at his old clinic where he stopped talking to his patients. Haneul told Jungwoo that it hurt her to see the empty clinic which reminded her of his emptiness at that exact moment.

Haneul is so amazed and touched by the fact that he is starting all over again like this. Jungwoo admitted to the fact that this was possible because of Hanuel being there for him through thick and thin.

Haneul showed a light smile then Jungwoo all of a sudden said with excitement, do you remember we went to Sokcho on the same day to go see the sunrise but we came back without even seeing it? Haneul was able to agree with Jungwoo and she expressed how it was so unfortunate that they had to come back without seeing the sunrise despite how far they had to travel to see it.

Then Jungwoo asked in his signature Aegyo voice: Do you want to go see the sunrise today? And Haneul was like now?! Then Jungwoo said that the last date that he had planned before Haneul went to study in the States was going to see the sunrise at Sokcho.

Jungwoo was saying that he fully regrets that he wasn’t able to see the sunrise when they went to Sokcho the last time. Haneul was laughing and smiling then Jungwoo was like, should we get going? Jungwoo was asking Haneul if they should get going in that sexy voice with a lustful face.

Jungwoo was looking at Haneul hoping that she’ll say yes and she was in thinking mode then she said let’s get going! Jungwoo looked so happy that she said yes to this one. Jungwoo said, Joassuh again! Joassuh means okay in Korean and everytime he says this I get weak in the knees for some reason.

Haneul was like, I hope there are some train tickets left for Sokcho. Jungwoo and Haneul walked arm in arm, shoulder to shoulder and headed out of Jungwoo’s brand new clinic.

Haneul’s narration again. Haneul was talking about how despair overruled their lives at one point and there was nothing but stormy weather for them and thought that life was over, they couldn’t help but to think that they wouldn’t be able to climb out of the swampy slump forever. However, that swamp isn’t as bad as they thought it was. That night he cried with her when she was in despair. They endured their pains together, disciplined their fears together and because of this they were able to both heal from their wounds.

Jungwoo went to visit Kyungmin’s grave and now it was his turn to narrate. TBH, I prefer Jungwoo’s narration than Haneul’s hehehe…Yes, I am biased!

Jungwoo’s narration was talking about how he learned to remember pain for only a short while but remember all the good memories for a long time. We got to see the scene where Jungwoo and Haneul were slowly overcoming their slump bit by bit. It was the scene where Jungwoo got to do his first main surgery at Daeyoung’s clinic and Haneul was helping him as the anesthesia specialist.

Jungwoo’s narration continued on and he said we finally were able to overcome and send the slump on its way out.

Finally, Jungwoo and Haneul were in Sokcho to see the sunrise. They missed it last time cus they came a little too late but how about this time? Haneul was like, it’s so nice here. The two were nervously waiting for the sun to come up and then Jungwoo was like it’s coming up now. Haneul straightened herself up so she could focus on the sun coming up.

Jungwoo and Haneul finally got to see the sun coming up. Haneul was like, OMG! It’s so round and beautiful!  Both Jungwoo and Haneul were smiling. I really love Jungwoo’s smiles or more like Hyungsik’s smiles in this particular show. Jungwoo was like we couldn’t see it before but now we are finally able to see it today. Haneul smiled lightly and agreed with what Jungwoo was saying just now. Jungwoo was like, ahhhhh…he seemed to be so amazed and touched by the wondrous sun. Then Jungwoo suddenly said to Haneul, let’s be closer to each other than ever before from now on. Haneul agreed and nodded then Jungwoo nodded too.

All of a sudden Jungwoo was reminded and he realized that Haneul didn’t give him a proper answer yet and Haneul was acting dumb argh! Jungwoo was like, I proposed to you but you still didn’t give me an answer yet. Then Haneul was like, hey what are you talking about? Our wedding photo shoot is gonna be next week…..

Haneul was like, why is my answer so important since our wedding photo shoot is next week…? Jungwoo was like but still, I want to hear your answer, do it for me please? Haneul lost the game so she had to do it for him and Jungwoo was so happy that he stood straight, getting ready for her answer. Jungwoo was coughing and Haneul was playing with her hair. Haneul finally gave him a proper answer that he deserved. “Let’s get married!”

Jungwoo didn’t like the answer because he felt like it wasn’t sincere enough and he wanted her to try it again but he used his signature tantrum voice. Jungwoo was like, cmon, do it properly this time please? Jungwoo is mature but yet he is like a child at times…..Haneul was being shy again and she was like, I don’t know how to do that….!

Jungwoo was like, what do you mean? You could do it! I believe in you! Then Haneul was playing with her hair again and then she was backing out like a chicken. Haneul was like, I’m so embarrassed so I’m running away from you. Jungwoo was laughing then he caught up to her but fortunately they ended up just holding hands walking side by side while twirling each other around as if they were doing a lovely dance together.

As Jungwoo was twirling Haneul around her narration came on again and she said: Today we might be happy but tomorrow we might find sadness by our side.

Oh before I forget I do want to mention that the two beach scenes remind me of Minhyuk and Bongsoon. After Jungwoo was done twirling Haneul he hugged her tight and patted her on the head. All of Hyungsik’s characters are good at hugging like this, it’s the actor and I’m thinking that hugging the actual Hyungsik might be similar to this.

Jungwoo’s narrative voice came and said everything will be okay since I have myself that could be sad but yet I have a happy self as well. I really thought it was a picturesque scene of Jungwoo hugging Haneul with the big orange sun shining on them.

They are so blessed! I love how the theme song from beginning to end is IN MY MEMORY from SEULGI although it’s a disappointment that Hyungsik’s OST was only played for three episodes…But it’s okay since I bought the song on Itunes so I could listen to it to my heart’s content. However, I think In My memory was fitting from beginning to end, it’s surely the theme for Yeo Jungwoo and Nam Haneul. Also In my memory goes well with Jungwoo and Haneul loving each other at the beach while being blessed by the GREAT SUN!

Jungwoo and Haneul skip to my lou while the great big sun is shining upon them and Jungwoo’s narration continues on. He said, we now have the power to endure/pull through misfortune and sadness so this is good enough. I love Hyungsik’s voice. I love his voice now more than ever before. I was so curious so I decided to watch bits and pieces of The Heirs and I noticed that Hyungsik had that boyish voice at the time but now he sounds like a full grown man!

The episode is over and the show is over but then they show the epilogue which lasts about a little less than two minutes.

All throughout the last part of the final episode and even through the epilogue they played Seulgi’s In my memory.

Jungwoo and Haneul took a photo in front of Haneul’s house in their sweet wedding gear. They wore a different outfit and took a photo at the school while writing on something on the chalkboard/blackboard. Jungwoo and Haneul take another one in front of the school while the other one was inside of the classroom of course.

I think they also took one in some foreign country and one of them looked like a photo where Jungwoo took one for Haneul. Jungwoo holding the camera actually looks like the way a professional would hold it and I think he summoned Mr. Han Seonwoo to help him out hehehe…There was a tiny picture up on the upper left hand corner and Jungwoo looked like a model argh……The couple also took one at the arcade and the image really looked like an 8 bit art…Jungwoo and Haneul took one in front of the corner store where they ate ice cream together.

After the epilogue they showed the still cuts of episode 16, the final episode and of course the final still cut was of Jungwoo and Haneul hugging each other while the big giant sun is shining on them, blessing them.

I realized something after the show was over and I couldn’t help but to analyze the sun in Dr. Slump. They mention the sun a lot and also it’s in the visuals of the bedrooms in the show. Jungwoo and Haneul make an attempt to see the sunrise although they do succeed at least once out of the two times they went to go see the sunrise. The sunrise at the end shining so brightly upon them was so huge and this made me think about the bedrooms of both Jungwoo and Haneul but Haneul’s room especially though. I wonder if there’s something symbolic about this….

My thoughts on the ending and about the show overall

This show really caught me by surprise because I thought it was gonna be just an “okay” show. I was looking forward to it of course cus it’s a show that’s gonna be starring Park Hyungsik, my favorite actor but I didn’t think that the show would move me this much. Going into it I didn’t have a whole lot of expectation even if it’s a Park Hyungsik show and all and I think it’s because I was worried about the pair, I was wondering if this Park Park couple would effect me the way the other Park Park couple affected me in Strong Woman Do Bongsoon.

Truth be told, I didn’t want to ship Park Hyungsik and Park Shinhye together although I’m sure a lot of fans wanted these two to pair up because of The Heirs. These two were in The Heirs together which happened a little over 10 years ago and in that show the two Parks hardly had any encounters with one another, they did run into each other in the show but it certainly wasn’t a significant amount for it to even matter. Park Shinhye’s character Cha Eunsang had a thing for Lee Minho’s character while Park Hyungsik’s character Jo Myungsoo was into a chick named Bona who liked a different guy.

Park Shinhye has been known to be the Rom-Com queen and Park Hyungsik is known to be  The Great Kisser and The Chemistry Maker so I was curious to how these two would look on camera and I must say that they blew my mind….I was so dead wrong about the two possibly not being a good pair at first but they were amazing together which I realized starting from the end of Episode 2.

The thing that surprised me the most was the fact that Park Shinhye is now a married woman with a kid and for someone that’s in the married woman’s club, the way she kissed him in the show was so convincing.

I have seen other shows that Park Shinhye was in and this was the most real I have ever seen of her and with our dear Park Hyungsik we got to see his character Yeo Jungwoo actually resembling his actual self. Yeo Jungwoo did a lot of things that were similar or darn near the same as Park Hyungsik himself. For instance, I don’t think I have seen Shikkie’s characters that have the same eating habits as himself. We got to see Jungwoo eating a lot of spicy rice cake in Dr. Slump and it seemed like that was one of his favorite foods and that’s definitely one of Hyungsik’s favorite foods as well so I’m guessing that the writer did a little homework on the actor hehehe…..The writer gave us a lot of fanservice for us Park Hyungsik fangirls through the character Yeo Jungwoo and also I think that the writer also likes gaming like our dear Shikkie hehehe…

It’s not just the food that made me think the writer did some homework on Park Hyungsik, there were other elements of Yeo Jungwoo that resembled the actor as well.

Also, I want to think that Yeo Jungwoo is a mix of different Shikkie characters that we have seen over the years. We saw a little bit of Cha Dalbong because of his goofiness, throwing temper tantrums, and when they also showed him cooking in the show. Jungwoo looked just like Yoo Changsoo when he was in a nice sophisticated suit too..

This Yeo Jungwoo character reminded me of Shikkie’s other characters in their temperaments, their personalities, their hobbies, their academic skills, their fashion sense and a whole bunch of other things too.

Hyungsik proved to me that he has a wide range of facial expressions and acting abilities. I loved how Hyungsik showed us that he was also capable of regular comedy and slapstick comedy too.

I was so happy to see his aegyo charms which don’t happen too often and I think Strong Woman Do Bongsoon was one of the few shows where we got to see him do that. Hyungsik showed excellent comedic timing in Dr. Slump although he proved to us that he was capable of doing comedy in other shows but Dr. Slump really brought out the capability of doing so.

Hyungsik also reunited with Yoon Park and they were just like brothers and I think it’s because of What Happens to my family. The way they were bickering was more playful though because in What Happens to my family Yoon Park’s character Cha Kangje really meant it when he was getting into fights with his little brother. Hyungsik and Yoon Park’s acting just felt so natural and I think it’s because they played blood related brothers exactly 10 years ago in What Happens to my Family.

I also want to give Yoon Park some credit too because going into this show I had no idea that he was gonna be a comedic character. Yoon Park’s character Bin Daeyoung is a single dad raising a teen daughter, he is so good to Hongran who also has a child of her own, and the way he smiled in the show was like a dork too. I had no idea that he could play a comedic character and an equally dorky Hongran was perfect for someone like Daeyoung.

I liked Haneul’s mom, Mrs. Kong. I saw the actress before from a movie called Parasite and she played Choi Wooshik’s mother, Wooshik is one of the Wooga Brothers of course hehehehe.

Bada, Haneul’s little brother reminded me of Taehyung/V a little bit and from the very beginning he seemed to think of Jungwoo like a big brother he never had.

I really liked all the romantic dates that Jungwoo and Haneul had like going to the beach, going shopping although it was for a different reason at the time, dumpling date, ice cream date, drinking together, going on a field trip, going to the arcade, going out to eat spicy rice cakes, going out to eat in general, go karaoking, playing DDR, and of course making out should be included as well.

I liked the overall visuals, acting, OSTs, cinematography, writing, editing, ensemble cast and many other qualities that I can’t seem to name right this minute.

Speaking of OSTs, I loved them all, after the show was over they were all stuck in my head and of course my favorite was Lean on Me but I liked the other songs too. However, it’s unfortunate that they only played Shikkie’s song for like three episodes but they played the heck out of Seulgi’s In my memory from almost start to finish but I didn’t mind it cus I thought that song was the core theme of this show anyway. And In my Memory is also the theme for Jungwoo and Haneul too so it makes sense.

I really loved Shikkie’s fashion in this show cus I was able to see him in full blown suits, semi casual suits, his dr robe/scrubs, sweats, jeans and t-shirts, athletic clothes, semi formal wear, and semi casual wear. The only thing we didn’t get to see him wear was Hanbok/Korean traditional clothes and his birthday suit hehehe…

Like I mentioned in all the recaps of this show, Jungwoo is the character that resembles Shikkie the most although we have Minmin that’s similar but there’s a reason why he wasn’t similar to the actual Hyungsik compared to Jungwoo.

There was an episode in SWDBS where Bongsoon’s mom brings spicy food to Minmin while he was in the hospital but he couldn’t take spicy food and Hyungik eats his food extra spicy. However, in Dr. Slump, there was a scene where Bada wanted Jungwoo to treat him to some spicy rice cake and Jungwoo said he was completely fine with that but it has to be extra spicy. Hyungsik is known for eating his food extra spicy or he calls it beyond spicy.

Jungwoo is cute, filled with aegyo charms like Minmin from SWDBS and he is book smart like Go Yeonwoo from Suits and Crowned Prince/Crowned King/Scholar Park from Our Blooming Youth. Jungwoo is also romantic, sweet and caring like Seonwoo because they both make sure that their lady love is doing okay. Jungwoo also has leadership skills like King Jinheung of Shilla from Hwarang and Crowned King/Crowned Prince Lee Hwan from Our Blooming Youth.

I shouldn’t forget to mention Jung Yihyun from Happiness because they both look really good in track suits and athletic wear. I want to mention that Jungwoo’s casual clothes that he wears while he is chilling in his rooftop apartment made me think about Cha Dalbong. Jungwoo’s home/ comfy clothes were similar to what Dalbong wore while Dalbong visited Seowool’s rooftop apartment a lot but in this show Haneul visited Jungwoo’s rooftop apartment quite often as well.

I really dug all the characters of this show, even the minor characters like Nurse Do, Jinwoo, Eunjung and even Kyungmin. Of course I loved the core characters like Jungwoo, Haneul, Bada, Mrs. Kong, and Uncle Taesun. I loved the actors who played all these characters as well hehehe…

I liked everything about this show but the only thing that I didn’t like was the ending although I liked the ending for the most part but it felt a bit rushed and also I wanted to see a wedding sequence where the whole family gets together and congratulates their marriage with a wedding ceremony. The other Park Park couple got a wedding and a pair of twins at the end of the show and I was happy with that. However, it was unfortunate that they just ended it with a wedding album where we couldn’t get to see them actually getting married at a nice wedding hall or at a church while being blessed by their loved ones.

I guess I was envisioning a slightly different ending. I loved the wedding album but it would have been nice if we at least got a photo of the whole family with Jungwoo and Haneul in a wedding dress and a tuxedo. Also, I didn’t like the fact that they teased us with Haneul going to the States, but canceled it. I thought Haneul was gonna run into Jungwoo’s mother and somehow, Mrs. Yeo would come around and make amends with Jungwoo once and for all but that didn’t happen.

I liked how the interaction between the different cast members felt so natural and heartwarming but I felt bad for Kyunmin because he could’ve been another brother for Jungwoo besides Daeyoung but that didn’t happen thanks to Mrs. Yeo.

My weekend was watching Dr. Slump but now I’m just rewatching all the episodes from 1-16 and also watching his older shows and even comparing it to this new one. I must say that Dr. Slump is my only Park Hyungsik show that I watched from 1-16 while it was still airing without skipping any scenes and it’s the only show that I’ve written recaps from start to finish. As a matter of fact it’s probably the only show that I wrote a full blown recap from start to finish since I started my blog.

Thanks for reading this long final recap and also thanks for reading my other long recaps too~! I really hope you enjoyed the show if you have seen it and if not I strongly recommend Dr. Slump! If I were to rate Dr. Slump, I would give it a 9.7 out of 10 and honestly I would want to give it a perfect 10 but there were small flaws so I’m gonna go ahead and give it a 9.7 which is still darn good since it’s rare to even get a 9.7 rating from me or from anybody else for that matter….

THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Although I may complain about some aspects of the drama, I agree with you that Jungwoo is the doppelganger who mirrors actual PHS the most. I believe it is because the director gave him more freedom of interpretation than in other shows. SWDB and DS are the ones with tons of ad-libs delivered by Hyungsik and thanks to that we are able to appreciate our man to the fullest.

  2. I have come to the conclusion that what resonates most within Hyungsik’s characters is the fervent urge to form a relationship with the FL. Sometimes it is tacitly expressed, other times it is subtly glimpsed. The common thread is that not only he falls head over heels in love with the girl first but the level of commitment is more intense on his part, as he works tirelessly so that she may attain happiness, even at the cost of his own.

  3. I think all the characters got what they deserved but some resolutions were very hasty. For example, before the last episode it only superficially addressed the past issue of Taeseon’s first love. Also, the show failed to bring closure to Jungwoo’s parental issues. We didn’t get to know Mr Yeo either. The most serious mistake was having left us eagerly wanting to see the wedding and the family they formed.
