I can’t believe that I have been a Shikkie fan for a year now, I honestly didn’t think that it would even last this long. Truth be told, I thought I was gonna be out with this guy when I initially saw  bits and pieces of Our Blooming Youth in March of last year in 2023 but I was so wrong. I think I underestimated him completely. 

I had a chance of becoming a Shikkie fan back in 2016 but it didn’t happen and also the same chance came back in 2017 but I ignored him back then as well. Hwarang and Strong woman Do Bongsoon could have been my introductory drama to becoming a Park Hyungsik fangirl but nope, it was Our Blooming Youth, thanks to Mr. Viki…..

Viki was advertising Our Blooming Youth like crazy and normally I don’t pay attention to promos on Viki sorry to say. However, the poster caught my eyes and I was curious to check it out while feeling unsure about it.

 I realized that the main guy was Park Hyungsik from Hwarang and I was like oh yea, that guy? I shrugged it off but I just couldn’t put it off anymore so I bit the bullet and just went for it thinking that I will just check it out real quick then he’ll be erased from my mind and go back to fangirling over Kim Bum while rewatching Ghost doctor like crazy. It’s funny cus I was waiting for Kim Bum’s new drama to come out at the time and it was the nine tailed fox sequel. I was excited but yet that died down almost instantly once I saw Hyungsik in OBY! 

Our Blooming Youth is what changed everything for me. Although my first Shikkie drama was really Hwarang but it wasn’t a gateway for me because I didn’t become a fan through it, I don’t know what I was thinking then but with OBY I was smitten pretty fast but I didn’t want to admit it.

Park Hyungsik is originally from a boy group called ZE:A and I have heard this name float around but I never really paid attention to it because I was too busy fangirling over EXO…Honestly, I regret it now and when I heard the name ZE:A go by, I automatically thought of Gwanghee and Siwan. I was aware of the fact that Hyungsik was from this group but it just kinda went over my head for some reason although that changed once I gave Our Blooming Youth a chance.

My so-called K-drama blog is no longer what it used to be. Ever since I became a huge Park Hyungsik fangirl, I do not post articles about other celebs anymore. Ever since last spring, my posts were all about my Park Hyungsik although there were a few exceptions and those exceptions were about Park Seojoon, the other Wooga brothers and Dragon Ball Z …Other than that just about all of my posts were about my Park Hyungsik. This goes to show that Hyungsik has become my priority when it comes to fangirling and this blog in general.

Ever since my blog has been exclusively about Park Hyungsik, my avatar has been nothing but Park Hyungsik pics. My profile pic when I started this blog was Paddington bear and I had that avatar forever but that changed once Hyungsik came into my life. 

When I used to fangirl over Kim Bum, Park Yongwoo, Yoo Seung Ho, Jisung and other famous male celebs I really didn’t have a fellow fangirl friend to exchange my love for that person but fortunately with Park Hyungsik I gained a fellow fangirl friend that I could fangirl with everyday too so yeah, I must say that Shikkie is a special guy.

Also, I became more creative ever since I started fangirling over Shikkie. I must say I’ve been writing more, more like writing a whole bunch of fanfics. Some were shown on my blog but some were kept private. Yes, I have some Sikcret fics too hehehe…

My fellow fangirl friend and I created this thing called the Shikkieverse, which is totally top secret. Shikkie probably doesn’t even know about this place hehehe….and maybe it’s better that way for his mental health.

Shikkieverse is a place that helped me to stick by Shikkie/Hyungsik through the thick and the thin and that’s why I’ve been able to stay being his fangirl for this long. Following my previous patterns, I would’ve dumped him by now if this was some other celebs. 

I am so happy that my love for Hyungsik lasted this long. It’s not quite my one year anniversary with him just yet. I have 15 more days till my official one year anniversary with Mr. Park Hyungsik. Being his fangirl was mostly good but there were days when I did have my down time but it’s too personal to disclose here but for the most part my one year run with this particular celeb was pretty great I must say and I still have the hots for him. 

Shikkie is such a special guy because my love for him hasn’t cooled down yet and I don’t know when it will. Shikkie doesn’t seem like the average celebs that I used to have a crush on in the past, this is the difference between Shikkie and all the other celebs.

I don’t want to bring this up but since it’s on my mind I’ll briefly mention it. I don’t know how much longer my love will last for Park Hyungsik but I have a good feeling that it will last for much longer than anticipated. However, things might slow down if he gets married but even more so if he not only gets married but he ends up becoming a father and takes care of his own family.

I thank OBY for convincing me that Park Hyungsik is worth fangirling over. Even though Hwarang was really my first Park Hyungsik show I have seen back in 2016 but it doesn’t count since I skipped through most of his scenes but with Our Blooming Youth, I fell in love with him the moment I saw him although I wanted to deny it at first. After I became his fangirl while Our Blooming Youth was still airing, I watched some of his other shows simultaneously and those shows are: Strong Woman Do Bongsoon, What Happens to my Family and Happiness then I watched all of his shows and movies except for his musicals cus none of them were on the internet except for a few video clips.

I remember when I tried watching What Happens to my family on VIKI but at the time it was unavailable so I had to spend a lot of money buying the box set on Amazon but it’s so funny because What Happens to my family is available on VIKI now and it has been for a couple months already but when I first became his fangirl back in March of last year I couldn’t watch it on VIKI cus it was unavailable for my region…..

As I’m writing this, the new Park Hyungsik drama Dr. Slump is still airing and by the time I post this, Dr. Slump will almost be over. We have four more episodes to go but by the time I post this we’ll only have one or two episodes of Dr. Slump left.

I just want to say HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY to ME AND HYUNGSIK AND ALSO MY FANGIRL FRIEND BRINA SINCE WE BOTH BECAME SHIKKIE FANGIRLS PRACTICALLY AROUND THE SAME TIME!
