Dr. Slump Episode 9 recap/review/My thoughts… ( *Spoiler Alert* Don’t read it if you haven’t watched it yet…)

·

Episode 9 was an episode where we get to see Jungwoo and Haneul having a difficult time being apart from each other and they are trying to find their way back into each other’s arms again. I couldn’t help but to cheer them on even though it’s obvious that they are gonna be back to each other in no time.

I also had a feeling that we were gonna get to know more about Kyungmin and yes he was a douchebag from the beginning although he was very good at hiding that part of him which confused Haneul a bit for a long while.

Kyungmin approached her as if he is gonna be the good guy taking care of her while everybody else is chewing her out and this made Haneul trust Kyungmin to the fullest but he betrayed her so badly that it practically ruined her life and her career.

When Haneul was being interviewed the main interviewer was asking her why she is interviewing for the anesthesia division and she did give a good answer but he was picking on her saying that she is not good with teamwork and that’s what this department is all about. Then Kyungmin comes in and saves the day by saying that she has good work ethics and she did really well in school so they should give her a chance.

Kyungmin always seemed like he was there for her but he seemed to have other motives but even then Haneul wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, she couldn’t no longer give him the benefit of the doubt anymore once she coincidentally overheard the conversation between Kyungmin and Professor Kim.

Haneul overheard Kyungmin talking crap about her to Professor Kim. This was so devastating to Haneul because she thought or rather wanted to believe that Kyungmin was supporting her genuinely but it turned out to be the other way around.

Hongran was so wrong about Haneul’s career that it would go super well for her since he is supporting her and looking out for her. Kyungmin’s goal was to become a professor and obviously he was busy kissing Professor Kim’s butt while talking smack about Haneul behind her back and unfortunately she overheard their conversation.

Haneul treated Kyungmin out for lunch because she felt so grateful that he was being so good to her despite the fact that she has no people skills whatsoever. Haneul is a smart woman and she did not lack in academics but she obviously lacked people skills. I’m guessing that in this field you have to have both. Kyungmin lacked in being smart but he was very good at kissing butt though.

Haneul might not have the people skills that were somewhat necessary in this field but she was sincere and passionate about her work and Kyungmin was able to see that but unfortunately he used her good attitude for something bad and selfish for his own gain.

Haneul might be smart but there’s a rumor that she is unfriendly towards patients, she lacks teamwork and she is inflexible but when it comes to the anesthesia department, all these qualities are a must have.

Kyungmin wasn’t only using Haneul and stealing her work but she was spreading lies about her as well saying that she’s been manipulating data on the documents when that’s far from the truth. Haneul’s work life was completely ruined because of Kyungmin even though he looked like a sheep protecting her from the wolves.

Haneul came to undo the lies while her colleagues were drinking at the bar. Haneul was telling everyone how unfair she’s being treated but Professor Kim was no different than Kyungmin. I can’t help but to think that both Professor Kim and Kyunming are from similar stock the way they act.

It’s understandable that Haneul became exhausted of everything, I would too if I was being lied about and treated like trash despite how hard you work. Haneul lost faith and she didn’t want to trust anybody anymore then that’s when she met Jungwoo. Jungwoo helped her sustain herself while she was on the verge of collapsing. Haneul fell madly in love with him because he became such a support system when things were really rough for her.

However, Haneul was insecure and anxious because she felt like he was gonna in the end give her pain in her heart like all good things in her life have become. Haneul broke up with him because she didn’t want to be in a relationship where they are both struggling. I guess her mentality was too weak to be in such a deep relationship and I think a lot of it has to do with fear, more like fear of loss.

Jungwoo wasn’t moving out completely but packed up his bag to stay at a nice studio near Dr. Bin’s office. According to Jungwoo he is not moving out completely but there might be days where he might need to stay at the clinic really late and the studio is a lot closer to the office so that’s why he is doing this.

Haneul’s mom looked sad, it felt like she got used to his company. Even though she doesn’t say so, it seems like she not only treats him like his own son but like her future son in law.

Bada thought that maybe Jungwoo is doing this because he is uncomfortable seeing Haneul and he might be right, I think there’s some truth to that. Bada really does think of Jungwoo like a big brother he never had. Even Haneul’s uncle treats Jungwoo like his own nephew. He packed up some dumplings and other side dishes for Jungwoo to take with him.

Haneul’s mom really treats Jungwoo like her own. She was telling him to take care of himself, make sure to eat well and these are the kinds of things a mother would say to their children.

Bada thinks that the way Jungwoo is acting is too sudden and there’s some truth to that I think. Bada catches on fast when it comes to the matters of the heart. Bada thinks that it’s odd that Haneul is not even coming out to say goodbye to him. Bada was analyzing everything that’s been happening so far between Jungwoo and Haneul and he feels like something just isn’t right.

Bada thinks they broke up and he couldn’t help but to wonder who dumped who. Bada was telling Haneul that Jungwoo is gonna be staying at a place near his new job from now on and Haneul looked so devastated. It’s so obvious that she still likes him or more like loves him.

Bada thinks that Jungwoo is never coming back by the looks of it because of all those bags that he was putting in Daeyoung’s trunk and his mother was trying to shut him up. Obviously, Bada and his mother’s communication styles are very different. Bada’s mom is kinda old school where she wants to do things on the down low while Bada wants to have an open communication even if it might look embarrassing to do so.

Bada was asking Haneul if she had a fight with Jungwoo or got dumped by him. Bada isn’t completely wrong nor completely right but at least he is faster at catching on to these kinds of things than his mother and his uncle.

Haneul looked so sad looking out the window as Jungwoo was leaving in Bin Daeyoung’s car and Jungwoo looked equally heartbroken leaving his rooftop apartment behind.

Jungwoo looked so sad that Daeyoung thinks that he is forcefully dragging him over to this fancy studio apartment nearby Dr. Bin’s clinic. Daeyoung is confused as to why Jungwoo changed his mind about working for him since he turned it down initially because he wanted to be next to Haneul so he would be able to support her.

Haneul and Hongran were drinking some Soju/Korean alcoholic beverages to cheer up Nam Haneul. Hongran has no idea that Haneul broke up with Jungwoo and she looked surprised when she told her about it.

Jungwoo and Daeyoung were drinking beer at his patio and even Daeyoung had no idea that Jungwoo broke up with his girlfriend. Daeyoung was able to guess that Nam Haneul was Jungwoo’s girlfriend which surprised him a bit.

Daeyong was able to sense it because of the obvious behaviors that he observed when he went over to his rooftop apartment days ago. Daeyoung felt bad because at that time he didn’t know Haneul was Jungwoo’s girlfriend so he was trying to persuade Jungwoo to work for him by Hongran telling Nam Haneul about it.

Both Haneul and Jungwoo were drunk while they’re hanging out with their friends. Daeyoung was apologizing to Jungwoo because he felt like all of this was his fault for telling Hongran to tell Haneul about it so she could convince Jungwoo to come and work for him.

Jungwoo wasn’t mad at Daeyoung but the thing he still doesn’t really understand is why Haneul broke up with him in the first place. Daeyoung told Jungwoo to beg her to come back to him and even tell her that he will be waiting for her. Jungwoo wants to say all that to her but he can’t because he doesn’t want to burden her with anything.

Haneul came home so drunk and she was carried over to her bed by Bada and her condition really worried her mom, her brother and her best friend Hongran.

Both Jungwoo and Haneul were crying on the bed looking devastated. Jungwoo wasn’t crying but he looked like he was about to and his red cheeks from drinking too much looked so cute. However, Haneul was crying which made me feel bad for her.

I love how we get to see homey, comfy, sporty, casual, semi-casual, semi-formal, and formal Shikkie all in one show. In Dr. Slump you get to see Shikkie dressed in so many ways and it just goes to prove that he looks good in anything and everything.

In episode one we saw Jungwoo dressed almost like Changsoo from High Society and starting from episode 2 he started wearing casual, homey, comfy, sporty and semi-casual attires although he did wear a suit when he had to go to court.

Jungwoo took a deep breath before going into Dr. Bin’s clinic for the first time. He looked so nervous because it’s his first time going back to work after what happened to him recently. Dr. Bin introduced Dr. Yeo to all the nurses and employees at the clinic and he jokingly said that they shouldn’t be disappointed that Jungwoo doesn’t look better in real life than on TV and the internet. That made me laugh cus Jungwoo looks so good in real life and on tv/internet too. All the ladies were so delighted to see Yeo Jungwoo in person of course.

The ladies at Jungwoo’s new job obviously were attracted to him. The girls were telling each other how Jungwoo is so attractive as a man but they felt bad that he looked so down but the head nurse told them not to say anything about it.

Haneul’s aunt called while her mom was cooking and she called because there’s a guy who is the director’s son of this decent local hospital in Busan. The aunt was telling Haneul’s mom that they are looking for some smart girl to marry his son to take over the hospital. The director’s son of this hospital isn’t such a bright guy but the director of this hospital needs someone to take over the hospital soon and the best way to go about this is to find a smart doctor girl to marry the boy.

Haneul’s mom thought about it and was convinced that this might be better for Haneul’s future even though her ultimate dream is to become a professor for medical students but there is more power and authority as the director of a hospital than a professor.

Haneul’s mom lied to Haneul saying that this guy just wants to meet Haneul because he wants to learn more about the hospitals in Seoul and wants more information on them. Haneul’s mom had a hard time opening her mouth about it because she thought Haneul was gonna say no but she said yes although she didn’t know that this was a set up, a blind date.

Haneul’s mom heard about what happened to Haneul through Hongran. At first she was debating whether she should ask Haneul to go on this blind date or not but after hearing about what’s been going on with Haneul through Hongran, she thought maybe this could be the best solution for solving Haneul’s life problems. Haneul’s mom used the information that Hongran gave her as an excuse to justify the reason for her to ask Haneul to go on this silly blind date that her sister in law told her about just earlier.

Jungwoo looks so good in a suit or more like Hyungsik looks so good in a suit but what doesn’t look good on this man? Jungwoo was looking at his name tag and this feeling seemed very new to him. Jungwoo seemed to be deep in thought about his new start. I think he is not over his trauma yet so it’s normal for him to feel nervous about going back to work while he also feels guilty that he is starting all over without Haneul, because that’s just the kind of guy he is.

Haneul made it to the hotel coffee shop to meet up with this guy that her mother set her up with and man he was one ugly mofo. He wasn’t just unattractive but he was also so rude. It didn’t help that the blind date guy had zero clue that Haneul had no idea that this was a blind date.

Haneul was asking the blind date guy if he was gonna start asking her about the hospitals in Seoul. Haneul didn’t want to waste any time but he was just sipping his coffee without asking her about anything so she started the conversation with that. However the blind date guy was being rude to her by asking if she’s asking him that question so she won’t feel like she is stomping on her confidence.

The blind date guy was saying she doesn’t have to play so dumb as if she was forced to come to meet him, or acting like some innocent girl without even knowing anything like an idiot. The blind date guy even treated Haneul like some shallow person that’s acting dumb so she won’t cramp her style by scratching up her pride. The blind date guy also talked crap about the well educated saying that they tend to act all high and mighty. There is some truth to that since some educated people do act that way but Haneul is certainly not like that.

The blind date guy doesn’t seem to care what happens here, meaning he doesn’t care if it works out or not at the end of the day. To him it doesn’t matter who he marries, because to him no matter who he marries it’s just gonna be the same ol same ol anyways. The thing that made me laugh the most was the fact that this guy was acting like he knew what was going on when he had zero clue about anything. He thinks that Haneul is denying the truth about why she came to meet up with him in the first place and he doesn’t like a woman like that.

Haneul had no idea that this was a blind date for her to get married to this silly looking dude. This guy’s father is looking for a daughter in law who is a doctor to take over the hospital after he is not able to take care of it anymore because his son is too much of an idiot to take care of it himself.

The blind date guy really killed Haneul’s pride after he said that he heard everything from her aunt that she was working as a doctor for a few years to become a professor then things didn’t work out so now she is at home not doing much.

The blind date guy was telling Haneul that being a wife of a director in the second largest city in Korea is better than being a professor in the capital city of Korea. He was telling her that her aunt told her mom everything which Haneul had zero knowledge about which made her look like an idiot in front of this buffoon.

Haneul looked really pissed off so she just walked out of the fancy coffee shop and it seemed like it didn’t bother the blind date guy at all because his heart wasn’t really in it anyways since marriage is just a formality and nothing more.

Haneul’s mom felt bad for what she did. She felt like she shouldn’t have done it and the uncle thought it was indeed stupid of her by lying to her and sending her over to meet some random guy while Bada thought she did the right thing because it’s better for her sister to just forget about someone that dumped her cus he found himself a job. I think Bada doesn’t mean it, I think he is upset because he just left like that without any real explanation to why.

Haneul’s mom meant well but she ended up just embarrassing her in the end. Haneul felt that she did this because she is embarrassed of her being jobless which isn’t true at all. When a person is angry you just can’t help but to be way too negative about a situation. The more Haneul’s mom tries too hard to help, she’s just making it worse for her……

Bada was talking to Hongran over the phone and Bada was telling her about how Haneul is pissed off at their mom right now because she sent her over to meet some guy on a blind date. Hongran said this out loud and Jungwoo overheard it while he was waiting for the elevator.

Haneul’s uncle went up to the rooftop where Haneul was to cheer her up with beer and beef jerky. Haneul’s uncle knew that he wasn’t her style then Haneul decided to tell him that the blind date guy treated her like some shallow woman. Haneul was telling her uncle how the blind date guy made it seem as if she knew about taking over the hospital  and pretending like she doesn’t know about it at all which made her feel absurd about this whole situation. Haneul also told her uncle some other things that the blind date guy told him about how her pride hurts less by being pretentious and this made Haneul’s uncle really mad.

Haneul’s uncle wanted to go find him at the bus terminal and beat the crap out of him but he is too rich to be taking a bus back home. They both realized that he probably took a first class plane home by now.

Haneul’s uncle feels bad cus he can’t really do much for her except a shoulder to cry on. The uncle told her not to be so mean to her mom because she is doing all this cus she cares about her well being. Haneul’s uncle was also telling her how her mom decided to plant cabbage seeds because she saw on the news that it has a lot of calcium which is effective in helping people with depression. Haneul’s uncle was telling her that there’s not much her mom is able to do for her except for small things like this which made Haneul feel bad for being so mean to her mother. Haneul didn’t express those things with words but her facial expression said it all and I was able to see that.

Haneul’s uncle told Haneul that he has a wish and took her over to a nearby pork hoc place and this confused her a bit. Bada tricked their mom to come over to the pork hoc place too. According to Haneul’s uncle it’s their first time ever shutting down the noodle house in the evening just for the harmonious relationship of their family.

Haneul’s uncle thought it would be a good idea to let it all go just by eating, drinking and being merry but Haneul’s mom was saying she wants to deal with it quietly while Bada was saying that it’s not good to be doing it like that anymore. Bada was saying that it’s a trendy thing to be more straightforward with each other, just communicate honestly about how you feel and such.

Bada and Haneul’s uncle were gonna leave so the two ladies could have their own private time together but they were shy and awkward with each other as if they met for the first time on a blind date.

The two women were having a woman to woman chit chat. Haneul and her mom were drinking and having a deep conversation with each other that they’ve been avoiding for a while. Haneul’s mom gave her something that her father left for her. Haneul’s mom gave her the bank book savings that her father told her to give to her when she’s ready to get married. Haneul couldn’t sleep all night when she found out that her father passed on and it made it worse because she couldn’t even speak to him on the phone and hear his voice for the one last time. Haneul has been feeling guilty all this time for not being able to send him away properly and her mom is saying she could let that all go now because she doesn’t need to feel guilty anymore.

Haneul’s father was happy to have a daughter like her till the last moment. Haneul’s mom and dad were both so happy to have a daughter like her. Haneul’s parents were so happy with her grades too, it’s not like they were expecting that from her but she always got number 1 which means an A plus. Haneul’s parents both felt like they were number one students because of her perfect grades.

While Haneul’s father was bedridden her mother was telling him about the phone conversation she had with her homeroom teacher earlier about how she is good enough to even go to a med school in Seoul.

Haneul’s father was obviously proud of her but couldn’t really be too excited about it because he was barely hanging on to his life for the family’s sake. Haneul’s mom can’t believe that she was able to give birth to such a smart child through her own belly.

Haneul and her father were both always so happy to have a daughter like Haneul but everything started falling apart. Unfortunately, Haneul’s hard work didn’t pay off but instead she got this thing called depression because she didn’t care for herself while working really hard.

Haneul’s mom felt that they felt proud raising a daughter like Haneul but her life was too much to handle even though she never really talked about it with anybody. Haneul’s mom was happy to raise Haneul but she wasn’t well and she felt bad not realizing that her daughter was in pain.

Haneul’s mom feels so bad that she couldn’t raise her more happily and beautifully. Haneul’s mom was telling her that she doesn’t have to feel guilty about anything. She also never thought that Haneul was living a terrible life either. Their mother and daughter heart to heart chat made me want to cry too, it was really emotional for me not to get touched by it.

Haneul’s mom told her to use that money to travel, buy good things to eat that she’s never tried before and treat herself out to good things too because she deserves that much. Haneul’s mom said she could live without a job if that’s what makes her happy. Basically her mother wanted her to release all the pressures off the shoulder that she’s been carrying all her life.

Haneul’s mom wanted her daughter to live in peace now and just let everything go. The mother has no idea what happened at the hospital but she wants her to find inner peace somehow and just forget about all that happened. Mrs. Kong wants her daughter to smile from now on.

Jungwoo overheard Hongran speaking with Haneul’s brother on the phone about her going on a blind date. Jungwoo wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt on that one and he is certainly doing the right thing since Haneul was tricked into going to that meeting.

Jungwoo was upset that Haneul went out on a blind date and is enjoying a pork hoc party with her family. Jungwoo saw a few instagram photos of Haneul hanging out with her family at the pork hoc restaurant and this made Jungwoo feel miffed about it or more like he felt a bit left out.

Jungwoo was freaking out because Haneul seems to be having all the fun without him. He was screaming, jumping up and down on his bed while screaming, throwing a tantrum like a little boy.

Jungwoo still wants to give Haneul the benefit of the doubt thinking that there must be a reason for her to have all the fun without him.

Haneul’s uncle and Bada were walking arm in arm thanking each other for making the two ladies make up with each other finally. They were able to make the two women come out to the restaurant because of teamwork.

Haneul’s mom and Haneul were taking a stroll at the neighborhood park while eating ice cream then the mom asked her if she misses Jungwoo at all. I don’t know, I think even Haneul’s mom thought of him as her daughter’s boyfriend when she was asking things like this.

Haneul did confess that she does miss Jungwoo after all but she felt like it’s just better to stop right here for the both of them. Haneul thought her mom disliked Jungwoo but that wasn’t the case at all. Haneul’s mom thought that she would never meet a guy like that again.

Haneul’s mom cannot dislike Jungwoo, she still remembers his face the day that he moved in. Jungwoo is such a tall and handsome young man but he was sighing as if his life was already over.

Mrs. Kong/Haneul’s mom felt bad that Jungwoo wasn’t eating well. She was saying that Jungwoo should try to eat well or else his parents will be worried about him. Mrs. Kong was wondering if Jungwoo’s parents are gonna ever visit him and he told her that they live far away which is true. His parents are not only physically far away from him but also emotionally far away from him too and that has always seemed to be the case from what we know of his family so far.

Then Haneul’s mom said he is a grown man so he doesn’t really need his parents to take care of him anymore and his facial expression said a lot which looked like a sad face.

His parents weren’t even there for him when he was a child too. Then Mrs. Kong said Jungwoo is so good at taking care of himself so he doesn’t really need his parents to be there for him. Jungwoo told Haneul’s mom that he is not very good at taking care of himself so that’s why he envies Haneul because she has a family that supports her when she needs someone to rely on and Haneul will pull through because she has a very supportive family like this.

Mrs. Kong left some Kimchi for him in front of his apartment door and Jungwoo was so thankful for it. Haneul’s mom told Jungwoo that she’ll do it for him again but he looked as if he was feeling bad for receiving things from her constantly. Mrs. Kong couldn’t help but to be nice to him even if she might act as if she dislikes him in front of her own daughter at least.

Haneul’s mom was grateful that the two that were struggling are able to rely on each other like that. She thought two people having a hard time supporting each other is a good thing. Haneul didn’t really have any reliable friend to pour out her soul to and that’s why Mrs. Kong was glad that she met a friend like Jungwoo to have heart to heart chit chats with.

Haneul’s mom has no idea what exactly happened to her daughter but she wanted her to be able to cure her disease through her friend Jungwoo. Mrs. Kong prayed that they would both find their ways together.

Haneul looked like she was deep in thought after hearing that from her mother. She finally got home and as soon as she got into her private bedroom, she laid in bed while looking at her phone. Haneul was looking at the photos that they took on their very first date which happened not too long ago.

It’s so obvious that Haneul misses Jungwoo just as much as he misses her. The photos of the two together looked so cute. Park Shinhye might be a married woman but she looks so good with Hyungsik. At first I did not ship Hyungsik and Shinhye but I can’t help but to ship these two big time but it’s too bad that Shinhye is a married woman now so I can’t really ship Hyungsik and Shinhye but I do ship Jungwoo and Haneul though.

As soon as Haneul woke up she took a look at her phone and she realized that she sent Jungwoo a text message saying, “Are you asleep?”

Haneul’s mom asked Bada to go pick some chili peppers up at the rooftop but he needed to go to the bathroom so badly that he made Haneul go do it for him. Bada left the little basket to put the chili peppers in before he ran to the bathroom to take a dump.

As Haneul was climbing up the stairs to the rooftop to go pick the chili peppers like she was asked to do and was talking to herself calling herself crazy to text message Jungwoo on accident then she discovered him sitting on the bench there which surprised her big time.

Haneul was acting awkward towards him and she even asked him what he was doing over there when Jungwoo technically still lives there at the rooftop apartment.

Jungwoo called Haneul ex girlfriend which surprised her a little bit but to him she is still an ex girlfriend even if they only dated for two days. Jungwoo was saying that Haneul definitely is his ex-girlfriend when she texted him, “Are you sleeping?”

Haneul was explaining to him that she texted him because she was drunk and she wasn’t in the right mind. Jungwoo had to express how upset he is because Haneul has been enjoying herself without him. Jungwoo even mentioned to her that she even went out on a blind date although Haneul was surprised that he knew about it.

Jungwoo finally got confirmation about the fact that Haneul went out on a blind date but she was explaining to him that she didn’t know that it was a blind date initially. Haneul was trying to explain to him about the booze and pork hocks while Jungwoo was covering his mouth by looking surprised.

Jungwoo thinks that he is being silly asking all kinds of questions like this when he is just her ex boyfriend and nothing more. Jungwoo doesn’t want Haneul to be doing too well but that doesn’t mean that she should be struggling either. As Jungwoo was leaving Haneul was about to say something but he turned around and started pouring out his emotions to her.

Jungwoo didn’t want to burden Haneul so he kept his true emotions inside of him but he wants to pour out his feelings now because he feels like Haneul is doing well enough to take it. Jungwoo told Haneul that he will wait for her, he is willing to wait for her until she is well enough to date him again. This is how he feels but he wasn’t sure if she was okay with it so he decided to ask her about it and he did.

Jungwoo was asking her if he is being too clingy but she is being clingy too by sending him a message like, “Are you sleeping?” in the middle of the night. Jungwoo thinks that Haneul is being clingy and she is full of regrets breaking up with him in the first place. Jungwoo is willing to wait for her as her ex-boyfriend and he demands her to come back when she is ready to do so.

Jungwoo told Haneul to be well, eat well, go for a walk when she needs to and come back to him when the time comes. I loved the way Jungwoo played with Haneul’s front hair before he took off. OMG! I’M SO IN LOVE WITH DR. YEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hyungsik is very good at these kinds of stuff like kissing, hugging, playing with the girl’s hair and among many other things that makes a girl have a butterfly in her tummy.

Dr. Bin was wondering why he was coming from the other direction but he put two and two together, he knew that Jungwoo went to go see Nam Haneul. Dr. Bin was wondering if they are gonna be back together again and of course Jungwoo denied that which is true but Daeyoung didn’t think so. Dr. Bin thinks that he should even go on his knees and beg her to take him back.

As Jungwoo and Dr. Bin walked into his clinic he found a whole bunch of people making reservations and wanting to be treated by Dr. Yeo. The clinic was bombarded with people and this surprised both Dr. Bin and Dr. Yeo. One of the receptionist ladies showed them the schedule sheet indicating that all those people wanted to be treated by the great Dr. Yeo.

One of the other receptionist ladies came and asked Jungwoo if he was ready to operate on somebody as soon as tomorrow and he didn’t look like he was ready by the expression on his face. Jungwoo didn’t look like he was ready but he decided to try it out. There’s still trauma for Jungwoo whenever he sees blood even now. Jungwoo still has nightmares whenever he sees blood.

Hyungsik looks so good in scrubs and surgical gown too. Jungwoo looked so nervous doing what he used to be good at after that traumatic incident which happened not too long ago.

I remember watching a medical show called Ghost Doctor not too long ago when my favorite actor at the time Kim Bum was in it. He looked good and all but My Hyungsik looked so much hotter in his scrubs and surgical gown than Mr. Kim. Mr. Park is so much hotter in scrubs/surgical gowns/ doctor’s outfit than Mr. Kim hehehe…

Jungwoo was having a hard time working with the tools that he used to work with. His trauma from the past was overwhelming him and I couldn’t help but to feel bad about it. Jungwoo was going through a panic disorder and he was showing symptoms of it too.

Hongran overheard what happened as she was drinking her iced Americano. Daeyoung was thinking that maybe Jungwoo should just cancel tomorrow’s surgery but Jungwoo wants to just bite the bullet and go for it. Jungwoo thinks that it’s because he hasn’t done this in a while. Jungwoo explained it to the patient throughly and starting from tomorrow he will do better. Jungwoo said he’ll take accountability if something goes wrong in the process.

Daeyoung feels bad for making him work at his clinic. He thought Jungwoo was ready to start working and he thinks that maybe if it’s too much for him he should just cancel tomorrow’s operation.

Jungwoo looked determined and he apologized to Daeyoung for his mistakes. Haneul was asking Bada about her old photo with Kyungmin but he had no idea about it but he did tell her that Jungwoo came into her room once and told her about the year book and he might have possibly put it in there or something. Bada was explaining to Haneul that it’s not him who touched that photo because he doesn’t even like coming near her desk cus he hates books that much.

Hongran called Haneul and told her that Jungwoo works for Daeyoung now and it seemed like she was kinda aware of it. Then Hongran asked her if she still has a thing for him. Hongran was asking her this question because she wasn’t sure if she was doing the right thing by telling her this information. Hongran told Haneul that Jungwoo is dealing with PTSD and Haneul was surprised that she actually knew about this condition.

Hongran told Haneul that Jungwoo had a panic disorder/panic attack during a surgery. Hongran was able to understand his situation, she thinks that his trauma is not something easy to get over and he is doing a good job for being able to endure it this far.

It broke Haneul’s heart after hearing what happened to Jungwoo through her best friend Hongran. Jungwoo was freaking out when he saw blood on one of the surgical masks. Jungwoo took his medicine as soon as the panic attack happened. He should thank Haneul for this because if it weren’t for her he wouldn’t be taking these tranquilizers to calm him down whenever this happens.

Despite the panic attack Jungwoo just had, he decided to go into the operating room. The assistants were telling Dr. Yeo that everything is prepared and even the anesthesia doctor is present as well.

Jungwoo was asking some questions regarding the patient to the anesthesia doctor and it was Haneul. As Jungwoo heard that familiar voice as she was answering his question he looked confused but relieved at the same time but he looked more surprised than anything.

Jungwoo and Haneul looked so good together as a team, talk about a full blown chemistry! Some fans seem to not like this Park Park pair and I thought I was gonna be one of those people before watching episode 1 but now I’m a big fan of this Park Park couple. However, it’s easier to ship Hyungsik and Boyoung since neither of them are married with a child….

I have a feeling that Jungwoo and Haneul will be back into each other’s arms again in episode 10 and also I don’t know why but I have a good feeling that they are gonna kiss for the first time in episode 10, the timing seems perfect for it. Make up kisses are the best you know. I think Jungwoo will be finding out about Kyungmin’s true colors. According to the preview for episode 10, Jungwoo overhears Hongran’s conversation and then you see Dr. Yeo punching the crap out of Kyungmin the loser. Then you see Jungwoo and Haneul hugging each other dramatically so yes, they are gonna be back together in episode 10! YAY! So many little scenes in the preview indicate that we will see the two reunite once again……….

Every episode is gold when it comes to Dr. Slump. At first going into it I was a little worried but the show is carrying itself very well. It’s pretty to look at, good editing, an overall a good ensemble of cast that seem to have chemistry all around, good background music/OST, good dialogue and a good flow to the story as well.

I really love Haneul and Jungwoo as a couple. Despite the fact that Shinhye is a married woman, her chemistry with Hyungsik is superb…Maybe not as super real as Hyungsik and Boyoung but I still really dig this Park Park couple.

  2. I think both Jungwoo and Haneul are teaching each other valuable life lessons while learning to love each other at the same time.

  3. Yeah, I think she is like the messanger to some degree…I know she seems like a cheap/gossipy character but we need her to deliver messages to Jungwoo hehehe….

  4. I was touched by the woman to woman chit chat they had the pub, I felt emotional and it’s understandable to be right?

Jungwoo needs this kind of support, his mother isn’t even around and his father….we haven’t even seen him yet……

Haneul’s dad might have passed on but when he was around the whole family unit seemed pretty happy….and you are right that it’s kinda similar to the Cha family…..although in the Cha family the mother isn’t around cus she passed on…….

  5. I’d rather discuss it in private but Sikkie in his doctor outfits makes me want to be his nurse/assistant. My imagination flies to (not so) unexpected places. LOL

  6. Sometimes when a couple breaks up, the time they spend apart from each other makes them yearn even more for reconciliation. So I have no doubt that their upcoming reunion in their professional field will strengthen their bond.

  7. Is it Hongran’s role to pick up on gossip and speak loudly so that people around her can overhear her? I got angry in the previous chapter with the way she communicated what happened to Haneul but I think this time she did the right thing in letting her know what Jungwoo is suffering from.

  8. Mrs Kong and Haneul’s conversation was healing. In the end all that matters for Mrs Kong is that her daughter’s disaffection at work doesn’t carry over into her personal life. Haneul’s family gives me the same feelings of warmth and protection as the Cha family. They are far from being perfect and not making mistakes, but they persevere because they are motivated by love.
