Dr. Slump Episode 8 Recap/Review/My thoughts….. (Spoiler Alert! Don’t read on if you haven’t watched the episode yet….

·

Episode 8 hit me pretty hard, I sort of had a feeling that our characters would go through something big because we are technically in ACT 2 right now. Dr. Slump is a 16 episode show and we are exactly half way through it so I had a feeling something big would happen and it did. I knew that this particular episode was gonna have something to do with Kyungmin and I was right. However, the first half of the episode was cute and heartwarming so it wasn’t just all bad. Now I will start writing my recap/review of the show then at the end I will share my thoughts on it. Like how I did before with the other recaps, I will express my thoughts during the recap/review too.

Haneul lived happily with her whole family as a child when her father was still alive back in Busan which is the second largest city in South Korea. Haneul’s father took a family photo for them at the beautiful Busan beach.

Haneul was a good student even when she was in elementary school. She always received 100 percent on her tests but she always seemed so sad about it. However, Bada didn’t do well in school, he got really bad marks on his tests/exams but he was still happy because whenever Haneul got 100 percent on hers their parents treated them out for pizza.

The Nam parents gave Haneul her name because Busan’s sky was so distinctively blue and they named her brother Bada because it went very well with Haneul’s name.

Bada loved having his friends over his house but Haneul wasn’t a fan of that at all because it interrupted her from focusing on her studies. Bada was more into studying than anything else. Also, Bada loved delicious food but Haneul really didn’t care about that much because studying was more important to her than food. Bada was into being in love, going out with the opposite sex but Haneul wasn’t interested in the dating scene because her studies deserved all her time more than anything else in life.

Some guy who was a bad student wanted to date Haneul but she was not interested in dating, let alone dating a delinquent. Haneul told the teacher about him and his friends saying that they are disturbing her from her studies. And of course the teacher told the boys to leave her alone so she could study.

Haneul thought dating was a waste of time because it took all her precious time away from studying since that was her main priority all throughout her life. The thing that excited Haneul the most was getting new books when she was attending college/university. She was not interested in some handsome man driving a foreign car.

However, things have changed for Haneul because she was becoming more like Bada, her little brother. Bada discovered his sister looking at her phone just smiling to herself about something. Bada had never seen his big sister do this kind of thing ever!

Haneul was peeking into what Bada was doing to get some info to help her get into the dating scene. Haneul couldn’t help but to think about what happened the night before and she was busy scribbling some things in her notebook. But unfortunately, her little brother caught her in the act.

Bada was able to catch on super quickly about what was going on with Haneul and he was willing to help her out if she was willing to cooperate with him.

Bada needed some funds for dating again so he snuck behind her desk to steal her wallet. Bada wanted 50,000 won so he could take some girl that he met on the internet on a nice date again.

Bada hasn’t had a steady girlfriend but he had lots of flings after flings and it’s often as if making a cup of morning coffee every morning.

As Haneul was trying to get her wallet back, Bada saw Haneul’s notebook with scribbles on it. She obviously wrote about her newfound love Yeo Jungwoo.

Jungwoo texted Haneul and she was all smiles of course. Haneul was trying to analyze what Jungwoo said to her last night at the pub. Jungwoo told Haneul that he likes her several times throughout the day then he even held her hand too.

Haneul was analyzing a little too much but she just couldn’t help herself because she’s never really had any dating experience before so she was trying to figure out what all that meant.

Jungwoo’s actions make it seem as if they’re dating but there was no verbal confirmation so she couldn’t help but to analyze the situation when it’s really unnecessary to do so.

Haneul’s mom was cutting up some veggies to make some cabbage kimchi and Haneul decided to get some love advice from her mother since she has more experience in this department.

Haneul’s mother made it seem as if a guy tells a girl he likes her and even holds her hands then they are actually dating then. Haneul was asking her mother and she told Haneul that her dad took her to an omelet rice/Pork cutlet restaurant. According to Haneul’s mother they had her after a few dates which shocked her a lot.

Haneul’s mom told her daughter that if a man holds a woman’s hand then that equates to dating officially even if there is no verbal confirmation. But Haneul had a hard time understanding this because she wasn’t sure if a guy and a girl are officially dating if the guy didn’t verbally ask her out.

Haneul wanted to hear everybody’s opinions regarding this. She felt like she should get advice from other people too so that’s why she goes to her uncle who owns the noodle shop right next to their home. Haneul wanted all the dating advice she could get.

Haneul was telling her uncle that this is about her friend who needs some dating advice even though this was really her story. She was telling him that they went out drinking and he was drunk then he told the girl several times that she likes her. He even held her hands too.

Even to Haneul’s uncle they are dating from everything she was telling him so far. Haneul asked if people still date like that nowadays but of course he wouldn’t know that since the last time he dated was like 20 some odd years ago.

Haneul had no idea that her silly little brother Bada was listening in but he was. Bada needed some funds to take his girl out on a date so he decided to help his uncle at his restaurant for a few hours for 50,000 won.

Haneul thinks that Bada should change his name to 50,000 won since he seems to be so obsessed about this particular amount when it comes to money.

Bada caught on pretty fast and asked his sister if what she just told their uncle is about her personal love story with the rooftop bro. Bada calls Jungwoo Oktop Hyung which literally means rooftop bro in Korean.

Haneul was denying it but Bada wasn’t buying it at all but she was still maintaining her composure and denying it flat out. Haneul kept on saying that this is really about her friend and her guy. No matter how many times Haneul denied it, Bada wouldn’t buy her story about this being about her friend and her guy.

Even if it isn’t the case Bada thinks that they are not dating just because the guy told the girl that he likes her and even holds her hands. Also, even if the guy did something even bigger than confessing and holding hands, that’s still not considered to be official in Bada’s eyes.

When Bada was explaining about flings he said you are kinda like mine but you aren’t really mine, this reminded me of that one song called “Sum” which literally means “Fling”. I forgot who sang the song originally but Hyungsik sang it with Jihyeon at an award show for What Happens to my Family some years ago.

Haneul’s uncle and mom are certainly old guards from a different era because her uncle thinks that it’s absurd for a guy to hold the girl’s hand if he’s not even considering dating her.

Then Bada said just cus you put the items in the cart at the grocery store but if you don’t pay for them then those items don’t belong to you. After hearing that the uncle couldn’t help but to agree to what Bada was saying, it started making a whole lot of sense.

Bada kept on teasing his sister. He asked why she looks so serious if it isn’t even about her then she said she’s worried about his future for being so obsessed about all of this.

After Haneul was done asking around and getting some advice about love she went up to Jungwoo’s apartment right away. She started texting him, asking if he’s home then she decided to word it differently than her initial texts. Haneul asked Jungwoo if he’s home then if he is available to chit chat with her. Jungwoo came right behind her and scared her half to death.

The stunned Haneul asked Jungwoo why he’s looking at her phone like that and he said that it can’t be helped since his vision is so good. He wanted her to tell him what’s up because he knew that she wanted to say something. She was awkward at first but she was able to come up with a way for him to let him in by asking him for a glass of water.

Jungwoo politely invited her into his apartment and gave her a glass of water. Obviously she had something really important to say but she had a hard time opening up. Jungwoo knew that she came over because she needed to tell him something and she was about to, then her brother came knocking on the door which interrupted what she was about to say to the guy.

The way Bada talks to him it’s obvious that he thinks of Jungwoo and treats him like a big brother. Also, Jungwoo treats Bada like a little brother. It’s hard to tell these kinds of cadences if you are not familiar with the Korean language and just reading the subs. But as someone who is familiar with the language can tell you that Jungwoo and Bada treat each other like brothers.

As Haneul realizes that it’s his brother knocking on the door she hurriedly runs over to the bathroom and hides because she didn’t want her brother to be suspicious of the both of them. Jungwoo was willing to let her hide in the bathroom but he had a hard time understanding that at first. As Haneul ran into the bathroom, she told Jungwoo to send him away asap.

Jungwoo looked awkward in front of the little Bada but he was trying his best to look as if nothing was going on.

Bada wanted to have a man to man chit chat with Jungwoo who he obviously thinks of him as a big brother. Haneul was in the bathroom looking all nervous hoping that he would leave his sister.

Bada came to ask Jungwoo to date his sister. Haneul looked embarrassed while she was stuck in the bathroom. Haneul told Bada to shut up for blabbering about things although Bada couldn’t see what she was doing which made it really funny.

Bada told Jungwoo that he’s been frustrated because he’s been just messing around with his sister which is further from the truth because Jungwoo is very genuine about Haneul and vice versa.

Bada mentioned about the time when Jungwoo took her to Sokcho to go see the sunrise and to Hwabon when she got turned down by a possible opportunity too.

Bada thinks that Jungwoo was just confusing her and toying with her emotions by doing all these sweet things to her then at the most important moment he friendzoned her.

Bada tried understanding cus he really wasn’t in the position to date anyone because of what he’s been going through but now everything is resolved so he should be able to date her properly. Bada was telling Jungwoo that he was just weighing the pros and the cons when he really wasn’t.

Then Bada suddenly mentioned about Jungwoo holding his sister’s hand which surprised Dr. Yeo while Haneul was freaking out in the bathroom. Bada was telling Jungwoo that his sister came to him and the family members for advice, making it seem as if it’s her friend’s story but she doesn’t have any friends so it’s obvious that it’s about her.

Haneul was freaking out in the bathroom feeling really embarrassed by what Bada is telling Jungwoo. Haneul used her body to express how freaked out she was while calling Bada a crazy bastard for saying all this in front of someone she likes.

Bada mentioned to Jungwoo that he held his sister’s hand and everything but he hasn’t said anything about dating yet so that’s why he came by to talk to him about it. Obviously, Haneul was having a fit but couldn’t really go over there and shut him up because she doesn’t want her brother to be suspicious about her and Jungwoo.

Bada was telling Jungwoo that Haneul is anticipating for him to say something about their relationship. Haneul’s nosy brother was telling Jungwoo that she is so desperate to go out with him that she is asking for advice from everyone.

Haneul was going crazy in the bathroom because she can’t stop her brother cus she’s stuck in there and Jungwoo was smiling because he just heard how much she wants to be with him.

Bada asked Jungwoo to just go ahead and date his sister already and Jungwoo just couldn’t help but to smile about this crazy fiasco. Bada was shocked because Jungwoo told him that he thought they were dating already which the brother didn’t expect at all.

Jungwoo thought that he and Haneul were already official by last night since they did all that. Haneul was leaning against the faucet of Jungwoo’s bathtub and she accidentally made it go and then turned on the shower which made a lot of noise. The guys outside were able to hear the shower go and Bada wanted to go check it out but Jungwoo stopped him from doing that because he wanted to protect her.

Haneul’s reactions were funny to me because she seemed like she was completely losing herself. She was trying to turn off the shower but it was still going although she managed to turn it off. However, she got all wet from what just happened.

When Bada was gonna check out what was going on in the bathroom, Jungwoo made up some story about his faucet that has been leaking and thankfully it made her nosy brother turn away.

Jungwoo was quickly trying to send him away for Haneul’s sake but Bada wanted this in writing cus he might go back on his words. Jungwoo said that men keep their words and he is a man of his word so he could trust him on this with a handsome facial expression.

Bada was saying that his sister has been depressed, she has terrible fashion sense and she has a very bad temper. Jungwoo was covering his face because of what Bada just said about his dear sister. After talking smack about his own sister he ended the conversation on a good note by saying that Haneul is a nice/sweet person despite all of those flaws he just mentioned.

Bada has such a cute smile. The more I see the guy who plays Haneul’s lil brother he really does look like Taehyung from BTS/Wooga Bros.

Jungwoo told Bada to stay healthy and he left his apartment. Jungwoo was so worried that he went straight into the bathroom to make sure that Haneul was alright and of course, she wasn’t. Haneul was all soaked by the accident that just happened while her lil bro was having a man to man chit chat with Yeo Jungwoo.

After Jungwoo saw what happened to Haneul he looked shocked and worried at the same time. He made sure to get a towel and put it over so she won’t get sick or something. Jungwoo wanted to know if the faucet was really leaking while Haneul wanted to confirm what he told Bada was true.

Haneul wanted to be sure that she and Jungwoo were an item. Then Jungwoo was freaking out because he’s thinking that it meant nothing to her even if they held hands and all that the night before despite what he heard from Bada earlier.

Jungwoo asked Haneul if she was toying with him which isn’t true at all and he knows that. Especially after what Bada told him earlier about how Haneul is so desperate to date him and want some kind of a confirmation.

Jungwoo also asked Haneul if she’s trying to weigh the pros and the cons when he knows that isn’t true at all. Jungwoo is funny trying to pretend that he doesn’t know when Bada told him everything while Haneul was in the bathroom earlier.

Jungwoo was just messing with her of course. He was telling her that he feels the same way as her. He is not weighing the pros and the cons and he likes her and he doesn’t want to be just Nam Haneul’s friend anymore. Haneul feels the same way, she is done just being friends with Yeo Jungwoo. However, she wanted to let him know that she’s not desperate though and obviously nobody would believe that.

But Jungwoo answered back by saying that he’s the desperate one because he’s the one that wants to date her so bad. Haneul was smiling at him shyly and cutely which I don’t blame her for doing. Jungwoo was worried about Haneul because she was all soaked. He went to go get a pair of his comfy clothes for her to wear and obviously they were kind of big on her since he is a tall guy after all.

Jungwoo didn’t want Haneul to catch a cold so he gave her a set of his clothes to wear and then he also made her something warm to drink too.

Haneul came back out after changing into Jungwoo’s comfy clothes and it looks really cute on her. I can’t help but to be jealous of Haneul because it would be so nice if I could wear Yeo Jungwoo’s baggy clothes and also him making me a cup of warm drink hehehe….

Jungwoo handed the drink over to Haneul gently and she received it in a gentle manner too. I just can’t help but to look at the sleeves of Jungwoo’s shirt because it’s so long on her. Jungwoo made sure that the drink was to her liking. He also had a surprise for her and he didn’t want her to look because he wanted to literally surprise her.

Jungwoo got a bouquet of flowers and since it’s so sudden Haneul thought he just randomly grabbed it from somewhere but he said that he put all his time and heart into buying it for her. Jungwoo is such a sweet guy and I think Haneul deserves somebody like him.

Haneul was obviously touched by his actions, she said it was so sweet of him to do that for her. She is only so used to the smell of alcohol but finally smelling something so good like flowers from the man she likes meant a lot to her.

I loved the way they were so close to each other after Haneul received a bouquet of flowers from Jungwoo. He stepped closer to her and asked her if she wanted to hang out with him while facing her.

Jungwoo gave Haneul a sweet and romantic smile while facing her as he officially asked her out on a date. It’s not just hanging out but it’s an actual romantic date this time and of course Haneul was okay with it. Haneul was all smiles so she wasn’t just okay with it, she was the happiest woman in the whole wide world right now. Both Jungwoo and Haneul smiled at each other so sweetly and I realized once again that Jungwoo or rather Hyungsik has the sweetest smile in the world! No wonder I’m his number one fangirl! Hehehehe….

Haneul was telling Jungwoo that his shirt is so big to the point where she couldn’t even see her hand and Jungwoo reacted in a playful way by saying, “Oh you can’t see it?” As he was reacting in the most playful manner then suddenly he pulled her by the arm and gave her a very sweet and romantic hug. I wish I was Haneul right now or maybe even Park Shinhye….She is such a lucky woman…..^_^

Haneul was surprised by the sudden embrace and I really thought Jungwoo’s reaction was cute because he retorted, “Do I have to make reservations to give you a hug?” He has a point, she is his girlfriend now so he should have the right to hug his girlfriend whenever he pleases right?

Haneul was rather shy about it in a cute kind of way but it seemed like she was enjoying it and so was Jungwoo of course. It looked like Jungwoo was in heaven and Haneul did too.

Jungwoo told Haneul that he is so happy that Haneul became his girlfriend and Haneul feels the same way about Jungwoo as her boyfriend now. Jungwoo held Haneul really tight while he was smiling so big that the side of his eyes looked wrinkled like a cute dog.

Haneul came back home and she went straight into her bedroom. She put the flowers she received from Jungwoo on her desk then she was making that teenage girl in love face while putting both of her hands on her face trying to look all adorable.

Bada came into her bedroom while she was being a teenage girl in love and he told her that she is gonna have a boyfriend as of today. Bada told Haneul that he knew that she was talking about her at their uncle’s noodle shop earlier. Bada has no idea that his sister was over at Jungwoo’s house earlier so she knows that situation very well.

Bada told her that Jungwoo’s gonna come and confess to her later on. Bada was telling Haneul that he had a man to man chat with the rooftop bro and he should be confessing to her real soon. Bada wants compensation for his so-called work. He first wanted 50,000 won then he raised it up to 100,000 won because he thinks that he deserves to be paid this much since he’s really helping out his sister. Bada has no clue that the two are already together and they confirmed it while she was still over at his place.

Instead of hooking her little brother up with 100,000 won, she thinks that he should get hit 100,000 times. Bada and Haneul have such playful sibling relationship. Bada is jobless but he loves dating girls so he needs the money to take girls out on dates so he’ll either steal from family members or scam them with something……Bada really does drive his sister crazy although he thinks that he was just trying to help her but he doesn’t get that she doesn’t need his silly ol help.

Daeyoung and Hongran run into each other again. Daeyoung wants to call Jungwoo but he is having a hard time making up his mind to call him. Hongran was wondering what he was murmuring to himself about and Daeyoung told her that it’s none of her business whether he is at a park screaming his lungs out or whatever. This couple is just as silly as the main couple but I think these two are even sillier in my humble opinion.

Hongran felt bad that she’s the one who pushed her into calling Jungwoo and Daeyoung had to get yelled at by some woman. Daeyoung was confused about the situation because it was obviously a woman’s voice but she sounded a little too old to be Jungwoo’s girlfriend. And Daeyoung thought it couldn’t possibly be his family members either because the woman on the other end was speaking in Busan dialect and Jungwoo’s whole family is from Seoul.

Hongran knew exactly who Daeyoung was talking about of course then she told him that Jungwoo lives at the rooftop apartment owned by her friend Nam Haneul’s family.

Haneul was dressed up nicely for the date. Jungwoo was dressed more casually than Haneul though. She asked him if he waited for long and he said no while giving her that signature Yeo Jungwoo/Park Hyungsik smile that’s so hard to resist.

Jungwoo and Haneul were about to go on their date but then Bin Dae Young showed up. Daeyoung just practically ran up to Jungwoo and hugged him. It wasn’t just an ordinary hug, he was squeezing the heck out of the younger man.

Bin Daeyoung was played by Yoon Park, he was in a drama called What Happens to my family exactly 10 years ago and he played Hyungsik’s older brother in that show. Hyungsik played the little brother Cha Dalbong and Yoon Park played the older brother Cha Kangje. In What Happens to my Family, Yoon Park’s character was so stiff and he was rather too cold to his younger brother. However, in Dr Slump, Yoon Park’s character Bin Dae Young is a single dad with a teen daughter that has a very silly personality like a big kid.

Daeyoung ran over to Jungwoo and squeezed the hell out of the guy which surprised him a bit and I wouldn’t blame him for that. It’s so good to see them on the screen again ten years later, they haven’t changed much even after all these years have passed…….

Daeyoung was wondering why he didn’t contact him when he was going through so much. Daeyoung was so dramatic that he looked like he was crying or about to cry. Haneul looked at Daeyoung and realized that he’s the guy she went on that blind date with. Daeyoung told her that he came by this way because Hongran told him that this is where Jungwoo lives now.

Jungwoo realized that the PS Haneul was talking about was Bin Daeyoung, his old friend.Daeyoung looked around the rooftop apartment and was saying how bad he feels for letting his little brother live in such a shabby little apartment.

Daeyoung wanted to talk to Jungwoo in private so he asked Haneul to give them some alone time to have a man to man chit chat they haven’t had in a long while now. Jungwoo was trying to tell Daeyoung that he was about to go on a date with Haneul but he wasn’t obviously listening to what he was trying to say to him.

Dayoung had a lot to say to Jungwoo and he was really worried about him from what he was saying. Daeyoung was telling Jungwoo that there were a lot of people that were worried about him and didn’t give him a call because they didn’t want to get in his way and he was one of those people.

Daeyoung doesn’t want Jungwoo to fall apart like this and he still had a lot to talk to him about so he wanted to go somewhere and eat with him. Jungwoo was trying to tell Daeyoung that he has an appointment but Haneul decided to excuse herself, that’s just what she does, not wanting to get in people’s way.

Haneul told Jungwoo to give her a call once he is done with him but he called her name to stop her and of course Mr. Bin Daeyoung held him down so he could have a chance to talk to his old friend that he hasn’t chatted with in a while.

Jungwoo was trying his best to stop Haneul from leaving but she just didn’t want to be in his way so she ended up going back home for a while.

Jungwoo and Daeyoung went to a Korean BBQ place in the neighborhood. Daeyoung pulled out a chair for Jungwoo like usual but he didn’t take it however he pulled out a chair for himself instead.

Daeyoung ordered some meat big enough to feed five people and Jungwoo thought that was a bit much. Daeyoung was telling Jungwoo not to worry because it’s not gonns cost much at that particular restaurant. Daeyoung was saying that Jungwoo is scared to eat beef now but that’s not the case at all. Daeyoung was telling Jungwoo to eat to his heart’s content because he thought that Jungwoo hasn’t even had any meat in a while but he has no idea that he had some the other day with Haneul’s family although it was just pork which is cheaper than beef.

Jungwoo asked why he is so curious about stuff and Daeyoung has been very curious about him lately which Jungwoo found to be kind of odd. Daeyoung has been wondering how Jungwoo has been doing ever since that incident. The interaction between Jungwoo and Daeyoung seemed very natural to me and maybe it’s cus they played the Cha brothers back in What Happens to my family.

Jungwoo is wondering why Daeyoung is acting so nice to him. It’s because Daeyoung hasn’t been nice to Jungwoo in a while ever since that one incident a long time ago. Daeyoung used to always pick on Jungwoo ever since that one incident they had in the past long ago. Every single thing Daeyoung said was so twisted as if he’s become Mr. Twister. Daeyoung admits that he was a bit twisted and he did hate Jungwoo for the stupidest things. The older man hated and was even jealous of this younger man but he realized something after what happened to Jungwoo just recently. Daeyoung realized that he cared about Jungwoo because when this incident happened to Jungwoo he couldn’t help but to feel hurt when he didn’t really need to be. Daeyoung was about to say, I also love…but then Jungwoo wasn’t even fully paying attention to him cus he was busy eating his meat wrapped in lettuce.

It seemed like Jungwoo’s mind was elsewhere. He wanted to go back and continue on with his plan which was to go out on a date with Haneul. Jungwoo was whining like a little boy saying that he is really busy today and Daeyoung said that he shouldn’t be all that busy since he is jobless anyways. This scene reminded me of What Happens to my Family again between the two Cha brothers. These moments between Jungwoo and Daeyoung are bringing back the good ol memories of WHTMF!

Daeyoung was saying he’s the one who’s the busy one since he has to operate his dr’s office but he said it in such a sarcastic tone that it was pretty comical.

Jungwoo thanked Daeyoung for doing this for him despite the fact that he has to go back to Haneul. Daeyoung made sure to ask if heis prepared to move on basically. Jungwoo is glad that it’s all over but yet can’t help but to feel unfortunate that it had to happen. Daeyoung didn’t come to visit Jungwoo for nothing, he actually had something important to say but we won’t get to find out till later cus it cut away and Jungwoo was already at home.

Jungwoo seemed to be deep in thought and Haneul caught him just thinking about something. She was obviously sitting on the bench waiting for Jungwoo to come back. Jungwoo told her that he’ll call her so she didn’t have to be waiting out for him but she estimated the time when he would be back and she got it right. Haneul is such a smart cookie.

Haneul was waiting outside because she wanted to see him soon and Jungwoo said she did a good job while patting her on the head. I really love these romantic moments. They are not just romantic but cute too. I honestly like Jungwoo/Haneul interaction better than Minhyuk/Bongsoon interaction and it’s because the first couple seems more natural and realistic to me. I’m able to pretend that I am Nam Haenul more than Do Bongsoon….

Jungwoo wanted to hurry up and go because he wanted to make their date last as long as they can. As the two were trying to start their date but he got interrupted again, it was Kyungmin. Jungwoo was trying to tell Kyungmin that he’s not available just like how he did to Daeyoung earlier.

Kyungmin was sad that Jungwoo stopped talking to him after the incident was over and taken care of. Jungwoo was trying to be nice and told him that he was gonna give him a call when he got a chance. Haneul tried to excuse herself again despite the fact that she’s really excited to go on her first official date with Jungwoo. Haneul told Jungwoo that she will wait for him at home so he should just go and meet up with Kyungmin but he grabbed her hand to stop her from doing that.

Unlike earlier with Daeyoung, Jungwoo didn’t even give Kyungmin a chance to respond. He just hung up on him because he didn’t want to delay the date any longer, what a gentleman he is.

Even if Kyungmin wanted to see him he didn’t want to go meet up with him because today is her day, he’s supposed to be entertaining Nam Haneul not these other people.

Jungwoo told Haneul that he is not such a loyal friend with a funny expression on his face and he feels like he wasted too much of his time with Daeyoung earlier anyway. Jungwoo just grabbed Haneul’s hand and skipped away together. Jungwoo is so adorable, his personality seems to be really close to Minhyuk but yet a mixture between other characters that Hyungsik played over the years. Also, Jungwoo is the closest to Hyungsik’s real personality, even more so than Minmin.

Apparently, Haneul has a dating hot spot that makes her super excited and Jungwoo wouldn’t help but to wonder where but she said that he’ll find out soon then he asked her if it’s sweet in that dorky looking face of his. Jungwoo couldn’t wait to be surprised cus he was wondering what this place is all about.

Jungwoo and Haneul were holding hands and swinging around so happily then once she brought him to the spot he seemed very shocked because he did not expect such a place.

Haneul brought Jungwoo to the library to share her excitement about reading essay papers. Haneul always wanted to do this if she ever got herself a boyfriend. Haneul was so stoked about reading the new essay papers that have come out recently and she wanted to share that with Jungwoo and he just couldn’t believe it but he was still nice about it though.

Haneul was talking in these terminologies that Jungwoo had no idea about. Jungwoo seemed pretty lost with what Haneul was saying. Haneul wanted Jungwoo to give her a specific answer but he was obviously having a hard time with that. Jungwoo wanted to make sure if this was the date that she was talking about because it didn’t feel like a date at all. Jungwoo was a little confused if this was a date or some kind of a seminar … .I don’t blame Jungwoo though cus I would have thought the same thing even though I’m kinda like Haneul since I like to do a lot of reading and writing too.

Jungwoo also wanted to make sure that Haneul knew what sweet meant because to Jungwoo a library date doesn’t seem too sweet to him. You can’t really consider a library date a normal date so I could kinda see why Jungwoo is doing this, I guess he was trying to find a path to somehow lure them out of the place so they could have a real date.

It’s always been Haneul’s dream to read essay papers and have debates about different subjects with her boyfriend. I don’t know, I think Haneul is unusual but still cute in her own way. Haneul knows what the word sweet means, she’s a smart woman, it’s just that going to the library to read essay papers with her man is sweet to her. This goes to show that Haneul is a little unusual compared to most people and that’s okay.

Jungwoo was trying to be nice by saying that this date doesn’t sound sweet but you could tell he’s being cutely sarcastic. He was curious about the next spot that they are gonna hit up. But unfortunately it wasn’t something that Jungwoo would be excited about because it’s a place called study cafe. It’s a place where you pair up with someone and co write an essay paper together and this certainly didn’t sound like an ideal spot for a date for Yeo Jungwoo. Haneul wants to write an essay paper with Jungwoo and she asked if he is interested in a particular subject to write a paper about.

Jungwoo looked really disappointed and couldn’t help but to pout like a little child so Haneul tried to cheer him up by saying that they are gonna be doing other things than just sit in a room reading papers and do research type of stuff. Then Haneul brought up the magic word, GAME!

Jungwoo couldn’t help but to be interested in this topic because obviously Jungwoo really loves gaming of all kinds and this totally reminds me of Park Hyungsik himself.

Haneul was playing a guessing game with Jungwoo. It wasn’t the kind of game Jungwoo had in mind like a card game, board game, table top game or a VIDEO GAME! Haneul made Jungwoo put out his arm and used her pen as a shot and asked him about the terminologies for giving shots in different areas. Jungwoo seemed to be taken aback by this because he had high expectations since she mentioned the word Game!

Haneul was giving Jungwoo an example for her so-called speed quiz and she was gonna get into the details about the game and describe it in full but she got interrupted by Jungwoo. I think he couldn’t take it anymore so he lured her out to take her somewhere more fun.

Haneul asked him why because she really didn’t want to leave the library but Jungwoo managed to get her out of there to a nice movie theater. Jungwoo was staring at her like a little kid but Haneul said it was too bright so she covered up her face with her hands.

Jungwoo reminded Haneul about what she said the other day about wanting to go to the movie theater and watch a movie while eating a bowl of popcorn sitting next to her man. Haneul was surprised that Jungwoo remembered all that from days ago. Jungwoo wanted more or less an ordinary date where you go eat and go watch a movie together and he thinks that Haneul does need a little bit of that ordinary stuff. Jungwoo thinks it’s a bit much going to the library to read essay papers on their very first date which I could totally understand where Jungwoo is coming from with this.

It seemed like Haneul understood where Jungwoo was coming from and she said maybe they’ll do something like that on their first year anniversary. Jungwoo and Haneul were holding hands looking lovey dovey then suddenly Jungwoo asked when it was the last time she’d watched a movie and she said she was twelve years old when she saw a movie last.

Haneul last saw a movie at twelve years old with her classmates called GalGalyi and the Vampire Ghost. Jungwoo put his hand over her shoulder and walked her into the theater room. This theater room looked like it had nice comfy chairs too, more like couches. I wonder if all Korean movie theaters are like this because I don’t think I have seen movie theaters like that here in the US….with sofa like seatings.

Haneul was super into the movie and yes, she was eating her popcorn while watching the movie sitting next to her boyfriend. However, Jungwoo kept on looking at his girlfriend. Haneul was busy eating popcorn and watching the movie but Jungwoo obviously had other things on his mind. He quickly grabbed her hand as she was trying to grab some popcorn.

Jungwoo made Haneul feed him some popcorn. He kissed her hand then used her hand as his pillow. Jungwoo was laying on Haneul’s hand like a little boy and Haneul didn’t know what to do. Her reaction seemed like a surprised one while liking the way he’s acting at the time. I think I would be conflicted and even confused in that particular situation. Haneul just smacked him on the back as if he was some cute little boy or something. He looked so happy, genuinely happy like a little kid. It’s so delightful to see this happy couple. I wonder what’s in store for these two but I want to enjoy their date with them as a voyeur.

Jungwoo was feeding Haneul popcorn. They totally feel like a boyfriend and girlfriend but you can tell that they are a brand new couple though. Jungwoo feeds her the popcorn then puts his head back on her hand. Haneul was acting so cute too by covering her mouth with her hand and all. They both cheered with their drinks and I’m pretty sure they were drinking soda although I don’t know exactly what kind of sodas since there are so many different kinds of soda pop.

Jungwoo and Haneul decided to go to the arcade, now this is more like the game Jungwoo was talking about. They were both playing a shooting game with a gigantic screen, it’s the kind of games you see in the majority of the arcades around the world. Jungwoo was moving his body around a lot while Haneul seemed a little stiff but it makes sense cus in real life Hyungsik plays these kinds of games while Shinhye doesn’t. Also, Hyungsik has the nickname Sniper Park so it seems only natural to see him holding a gun. And moving around for him is quite natural too since he was part of a Kpop Idol group, ZE:A for a while.

Jungwoo was going wild when playing that game but for some reason it felt like Hyungsik playing himself because he is really goofy and fun like that.

Jungwoo and Haneul went to take a photo at the photo booth. Jungwoo is so silly though. Throughout this whole segment it almost felt like Hyungsik was just playing himself really. Jungwoo and Haneul were goofing around, doing silly moves. They took different kinds of photos where they put sunglasses on, Jungwoo pretending to hit Haneul on the head with an ax and they put something on their heads that look like Pikachu’s ears or something.

Jungwoo and Haneul decided to go to a local coffee shop to wind down a bit before heading home. They were drinking their drinks while looking at the photos they just took at the photo booth nearby.

Jungwoo and Haneul seem to like the same photo because it came out so well. Haneul decided to be nice and pick the other one that they both didn’t pick but Jungwoo was giving her a long stare and she thought he was touched because she was willing to give up the one she liked better. Jungwoo wasn’t really touched by her actions just now cus he is not really into a girl who gives up something they like for others. Jungwoo brought up the situation that happened earlier today with Daeyoung. She was willing to excuse herself for the other person.

Haneul was worried because Jungwoo was always alone but it made her happy that someone else cared about him too. Haneul felt like Daeyoung was sincere about Jungwoo so she thought it’s the right thing to do to let them have a man to man chit chat.

So Jungwoo asked her about when Kyungmin called earlier but that situation seemed a little different though and it was because Haneul thought it’s one of those calls that he can’t just hang up.

Jungwoo doesn’t want Haneul to give up something that’s important to her for someone else anymore. He feels kinda bad whenever he sees her trying to understand everything that’s laid out in front of her. Jungwoo thinks that Haneul is always trying to understand, always trying to endure while making things harder on herself then end up pushing her to the edge. And perhaps this is the reason why she ended up being exhausted in the first place.

Jungwoo was asking Haneul what made her realize that she was exhausted in the first place. He wanted to know if it was because working at the hospital was difficult for her. Haneul looked like she was about to cry and Jungwoo started asking her if something happened by looking at her teary eyes.

Haneul’s mom was cleaning the house and digging through the trash can and discovered a little piece of paper where Haneul was scribbling on it and it was about Jungwoo. Bada was thinking about telling his mom the good news about Jungwoo and Haneul. Then the mom asked if she found a new job but of course it wasn’t that. Bada was about to tell his mom about the two but she already knew, she’s lived long enough to catch on to that kind of stuff. Haneul’s mom knew once she started talking about writing an essay paper on human emotions. Not only that she was asking about how dating somebody starts and if there needs to be some kind of a verbal confirmation for it to be official. Haneul’s mom caught on pretty quick, she knew that Haneul was talking about herself when she brought up writing a paper on human emotions.

Bada had to give his mom credit where credit is due but to the lady of this household it’s no big deal since she is the one who gave birth to Haneul so she should know after all. Haneul’s mom thinks that she should at least have something to be happy about so dating Jungwoo could be a good thing and Bada should just keep quiet about it.

However, the lady of the house was too late since Bada already went and told Jungwoo everything about it and he even begged Jungwoo to date his dear sister. The mom told Bada that he shouldn’t have done that because Haneul would take care of this in the end. Bada is a witty guy after all and he was right, his sister didn’t go around asking advice for nothing which means she will take care of it on her own without other people’s help.

It seems like Bada does seem to know his sister very well. He said Haneul is not the type to say anything that she doesn’t even want to tell anybody and this means she is okay with letting her family members know about it.

Haneul was telling Jungwoo that there’s nothing he needs to be concerned about because nothing happened at the hospital although she is tearing up pretty badly. She’s just exhausted and nothing more. Jungwoo is glad that it’s nothing big really.

Kyungmin stopped by but he left because Jungwoo and Haneul weren’t back yet. Haneul wanted to drop off Jungwoo so she went up to his rooftop apartment with him. Jungwoo felt like it was unnecessary for her to do so but she wanted to try this at least once if she ever got herself a boyfriend. It seems silly since they only live 30 seconds away from each other but she wanted to do it anyway.

Haneul was about to go down to her place but Jungwoo discovered mail in his mailbox. Kyungmin came by earlier to give him his wedding invitation. Haneul finds out that Kyungmin is getting married and she shows a strange reaction. Jungwoo calls Kyungmin to ask him why he just left like that but he made sure to congratulate him because that’s the kind of guy he is.

Jungwoo asked Haneul if she would be okay with ordering some food to have with beer but Haneul definitely wasn’t feeling it, she wasn’t in the mood at all ever since she found out that Kyungmin is getting married in about a month or two. Haneul made it seem as if she wasn’t feeling well, she had to make something up so she won’t make Jungwoo feel suspicious but then it looked like he might be onto something because he thought it was a bit strange that she is acting like this all of a sudden.

As soon as Haneul went down the stairs, far enough so Jungwoo won’t be able to see what she was really going through, she let out a sigh of devastation. It looked as if she was gonna choke right then and there.

Jungwoo/Hyungsik looked so handsome while he was making his drip coffee. Jungwoo was wearing comfy clothes but he looked so picturesque to the point I was envying the guy and I’m supposed to be his fangirl. It’s funny because I bought a box of BTS drip coffee the other day and the way I was doing it wasn’t nice looking at all. BTW, Jungwoo/Hyungsik looks really good in green, I just noticed that as I’m writing this recap/review.

Jungwoo called Haneul to eat an early lunch with him. I guess Jungwoo couldn’t help but to be a good boyfriend to her already. But unfortunately, Haneul is out and he seemed pretty surprised about that. Jungwoo asked Haneul where she’s at but she refused to tell him her whereabouts. Jungwoo couldn’t help but to be worried about his girlfriend.

Jungwoo got a reminder that he has a doctor’s appointment and he completely forgot about it. He dropped what he was doing and headed over to go see his doctor. Strangely enough that’s where Haneul was at right now, talking to her psychiatrist.

Haneul came to see her doctor so she could be prescribed to some medicine that is higher dosage to lessen her pain that she’s going through at the moment. She asked for some medicine when she is in more pain and also when she is having heart problems too. The doctor asked her if there was a time where she was going through something difficult in her life. Haneul couldn’t help but cry but she was going through so much emotionally that there was no way to stop it nor control it.

Haneul had no idea that Jungwoo was there at the hospital/wellness center too. He made an appointment for 2:00pm and the receptionist allowed him to go over to the treatment room. As he was heading over to the treatment room he accidentally overhears Haneul talking to her doctor. She was telling her doctor that people often say to her that she is doing well as she was practically sobbing. Jungwoo seemed shocked while looking helpless at the same time. Jungwoo probably feels bad that he can’t take that pain away for her.

Jungwoo and Haneul were walking on the opposite side of the sidewalk. Haneul has no idea that Jungwoo is following her but he is watching her every step as they are both going the same way. Jungwoo has no idea why she was crying back there and why she is walking like this looking so sad. Jungwoo was in pain because he couldn’t fathom why she was walking as if everything crumbled down on her.

Haneul got on the taxi across the street and as she got settled in Jungwoo called her asking where she’s at because he’s so worried about her but she wasn’t being specific. She just told him that she is gonna go see someone without telling him exactly who.

Jungwoo went to Daeyoung’s office to talk to him about something. Jungwoo was sitting on his chair playing boss. Daeyoung got a huge loan to open up the place because he thought that things were gonna go well for Jungwoo but apparently it’s too much for him though.

Daeyoung couldn’t help but to wonder what Jungwoo was doing at his office around this time. Obviously Jungwoo had something important to say but it was something that couldn’t be said over the phone so that’s why he came over in person. Jungwoo refused Daeyoung’s offer.

Daeyoung thinks that Jungwoo would be better off to just work for him because he knows that it would be difficult for him to go out and get a loan, hire employees and open up his own office. Daeyoung knows that it would be too much for him to open up his own office so he just wanted to help him out since he thinks of Jungwoo like a little brother. It’s so crazy how Daeyoung is nice to Jungwoo in this show because Yoon Park’s character in What Happens to his family was kind of mean to Park Hyungsik’s character.

Jungwoo is certainly appreciative of Daeyoung being so thoughtful of him to do this but he doesn’t want to do it because of Haneul. Jungwoo told Daeyoung that there is someone he likes and she is in a difficult situation right now so he wants to be there for her. Daeyoung was worriedly asking if it’s so bad that Jungwoo shouldn’t be working and

Have to be by her side instead.

Jungwoo feels bad for finding his place before Haneul does, he doesn’t want her to feel the loss even more because he is living a normal life again. Jungwoo feels bad that Daeyoung made an offer because he cares about him but he can’t accept it at the moment. He felt like he had to at least give him an explanation as to why he can’t take the offer. Jungwoo is such a thoughtful and well mannered dude. Jungwoo is kinda like Han Seonwoo from Soundtrack that way.

Jungwoo was in front of Haneul’s house and he was staring into his phone. He was trying to make up his mind whether or not he should call Haneul but he ran into Haneul’s mother and brother.

Haneul’s mom thinks that Jungwoo looks like a guy that’s not able to feed himself well because he always looks like someone with no energy at all. Haneul’s mom bought some fried chicken and she told Jungwoo that he could come over and have some if he feels like it.

Jungwoo seemed okay with it but the mom and brother practically forced him to go inside the house anyway. Haneul’s mom also has some dough to fry up some Korean pancakes as well and she suggested that he have some and wait for her till Haneul gets back so he could see her face before he goes back up to his place.

Jungwoo was just gonna leave but Bada wouldn’t let him leave but dragged him into Haneul’s room instead. Haneul’s mom was smiling as the two boys were going into Haneul’s room because they were getting along so well. Bada now has a big brother.

Jungwoo looked so nervous and he was being so obvious about it with his body language. Bada had to ask him if he asked her out already. It’s so hilarious because Bada thinks that he didn’t ask her out yet when they already had their glorious first date. Bada thinks that Jungwoo is much more shy than he thinks and he’s willing to help him win her over.

Bada was trying to tell Jungwoo what to say to win Haneul over. He was telling Jungwoo that he should say that he loves her more than heaven and earth, he would be really good to her if they ever get to date each other. Also be good to her little brother Bada and even give him a lot of  allowances too. Bada asked what Jungwoo thinks of this strange pickup line and he thought it was just whatever and cheesy.

Bada decided to try something else. He grabbed Haneul’s year book and said that they met in school while wearing their school uniforms but now we met again after all this time. Forget about this high school graduation album, how about a wedding album now?

Bada thinks that he was doing something really important but his mom called him to go run an errand for her which is to go get a bottle of cooking oil for. Bada thinks that his mom should just skip the Korean pancakes. He was asking her mom if her son in law is visiting her and she looks like she’s even prepared to go catch a live chicken for him too.

Bada was about to go crazy but Jungwoo said he’s about to go even more crazy because of this guy. Bada handed Jung Woo Ha Neul’s yearbook and as he was putting it away he discovered something. Jungwoo discovered a photo and it was a photo of his Haneul and Kyungmin. Jungwoo looked really shocked and devastated. It was written all over his face too.

Jungwoo thought about how Haneul and Kyungmin reacted when it came to each other. He put all the puzzles together from what he knew about Haneul and Kyumin. Jungwoo put the photo back where he found it but he seemed very uncomfortable about this whole situation.

Haneul went to meet with her old colleague and wanted to meet with her because she wanted to tell Haneul that Kyungmin is getting married. The old colleague also told her that there was gonna be a farewell party for him later on since he’s gonna be quitting. He is gonna be marrying into a family who owns a pharmaceutical company. She also heard that Kyungmin is gonna be hired as one of the board of directors there.

Haneul was mad because he barely got the position he is working at now, at the current hospital he’s been working at. And Kyungmin’s position as the professor of a medical hospital looks good on his resume and it would help the company out big time. Haneul had a reason to be pissed since that paper was written by her, all of it. Haneul was so devastated and when she is in this mental state she thinks about that one time in her life from a long time ago.

On that particular day Haneul was able to solve a difficult problem that she wasn’t able to previously, and she also got the best seating where she’s able to focus the best, and she also got a perfect score for her physical exam despite the fact that she wasn’t good with P.E.

That day was full of good things happening to her and she thought sometimes a person goes through a star shining day like this so Haneul decided to take a phone of the night sky full of stars with her old flip phone from back in the day.

Haneul was so happy and in the moment but she realized that she missed a call. Haneul just saw an ambulance pass by her but didn’t have any idea what was going on. Haneul realized that her father just passed away. Haneul’s mother called her to go to the hospital right away and there was her dad with the oxygen mask on. When you go through a perfect day sometimes by the end there might be misery waiting for you that you can’t handle.

Haneul sobbed when her father passed away and it hurt her for a long time. So ever since then whenever good things happen to her there was somewhere deep inside her heart that made her worried because there could be some kind of misery or bad luck waiting in her life.

Haneul was always paranoid because she wasn’t sure how long her happiness was gonna last this time. She was always guilty, insecure and nervous/anxious about everything since then. Haneul has been fighting with these emotions every moment of her life since then.

Haneul was able to find security in his kind words, I guess she was talking about Min Kyungmin’s kind words. That person, Min Kyungmin always told her that she was doing a good job.

During her early days as a doctor Kyumin helped her a lot like when she’s writing an important paper he would give her some books and other resources that could possibly help her with her work. Apparently, Kyungmin brought resources that are hard to find and at this moment she felt very special and appreciative.

Haneul got special treatment when she used to listen to Kyungmin’s lectures. Other students had to go to the operation room and be on the watch but he made sure that Haneul didn’t have to do it several days in a row.

Kyungmin even got Haneul a ticket to go watch and observe one of the bigger surgeries which someone that’s barely starting out isn’t supposed to do. Apparently, you get to learn a lot by watching and participating in such large surgeries but the only people that could be part of that are the ones with more experience. Haneul’s a rare exception because she is really smart and also works very hard so Kyungmin was able to get special permission from the head professor of the hospital.

Haneul was obviously very very happy but she felt extremely betrayed by Professor Min Kyungmin because he made her dependent on him. Haneul felt like Kyungmin was trustworthy and reliable so she did just that but he betrayed her in the end.

Kyungmin was able to become assistant professor with Haneul’s help but she didn’t get credit for that which is such a bummer. They all went out to celebrate and of course everyone was eating, drinking and being merry but Haneul wasn’t in the mood to celebrate which is so understandable in her situation.

Kyungmin didn’t include Haneul’s name on the essay paper which is so absurd because technically he shouldn’t even take some credit for it since Haneul’s the one who wrote practically all of it. Kyungmin was laughing with a smug face saying that it was better for him to take credit for all of it this time around which pissed Haneul off and she has the right to feel that way.

Dr. Oh and Dr. Kwon did the same thing so he thought it was okay for him to do that too. Kyungmin thought the other two doctors had more coming to them and he had only this to depend on so he had to do what he had to, which is such a lame excuse. This goes to show that Kyungmin is a very incompetent person if he has to depend on Haneul to carry her career without her benefiting from any of it.

Haneul was so upset that Kyungmin had to be this way and it made her feel so much worse because she depended/relied on him but he ended up betraying her like this. I got the impression that without Haneul’s papers Kyungmin’s life was through already and it probably would’ve been a long time ago.

Kyungmin wanted Haneul to just bury him because according to him he will put Haneul first when the next T.O comes out. According to Kyungmin even the head professor gave him the green light to go through with this which made Haneul feel even worse. I feel so bad for Haneul because her hard work is helping someone else and not her. It would be great if it could help both of them at the same time.

Haneul was determined to take some action and she has every right to in such a situation like this because she worked so hard but she didn’t get any credit for but Kyunmin took all the glory for himself which is a crappy move on his part.

Kyungmin was having a farewell party with his colleague and at least on the surface they looked all happy, or rather his colleagues were happy for him and exchanging best wishes for each other and all but that all changed once Haneul walked into the restaurant which completely ruined the mood of festivity.

For whatever reason Kyungmin seemed scared to face Haneul, maybe he is feeling guilty that he stole her happiness and worth from her. Kyungmin might have the glory but maybe deep within there’s some sort of guilt laying in there somewhere. Haneul felt like she wasn’t welcomed there but Kyungmin said she was wrong about that and he poured her a drink but she splashed it right back at him. Kyungmin’s face was now drenched in beer….

Then Kyungmin asked her what she’s doing and she retorted back and said is it okay for her to tell him to his face what he did to her in front of everyone at the farewell party. You hardly ever see Haneul this angry but Kyungmin is an exception to the rules here and it makes total sense why because he completely stole her whole life away from her.

Haneul told Kyungmin to live his life properly and as she walked off confidently he looked so humiliated in front of everyone which is totally understandable considering his position and all.

Daeyoung and Hongran ran into each other again in front of the elevator and Hongran asked Daeyoung if he was able to meet Yeo Jungwoo okay.

Haneul was alone drinking at an outside vending cart/Pojangmacha. She looked so sad because she looked like a person that lasted everything and to some degree she did because of Kyungmin.

While Haneul was drinking by herself, she got a phone call from her best friend Hongran. Hongran assumed that she was with Jungwoo right now since they are dating these days. Haneul was surprised that she knew about her relationship status. Of course she heard it from Dr. Bin and Hongran just automatically assumed that it was her bestie, Nam Haneul.

Haneul was surprised that Dr. Bin told Hongran about her relationship status then Hongran was taking her time to how the conversation began. Hongran told Haneul that Dr. Bin offered Jungwoo to work at his place but he turned it down which surprised Haneul a bit. Haneul looked like she couldn’t understand the reason why he did such a thing. Hongran continued on and said that Jungwoo couldn’t take the position because he needs to be there for Haneul right now. Jungwoo didn’t want to make Haneul feel the loss even more because he is able to find his way back to living his wonderful daily life again.

Dr. Bin has no idea that Haneul is his girlfriend so that’s why he told Hongran to give Haneul this message which would probably make her feel a lot worse. Daeyoung really wants Jungwoo to work for him and since he knows that Hongran is good friends with Haneul, she could get him to convince Jungwoo to work for him.

At first Hongran wasn’t gonna tell her about it because it might make her worrisome but she thought it would be best for her to at least be aware of it at least. Haneul seemed or rather looked bummed out and it was raining on top of that which made it so much more gloomier.

Jungwoo was deep in thought in the rain and just walking while holding a white vinyl umbrella in one hand. Jungwoo looked helpless and as he was just walking and thinking in the rain, he ran into Haneul. He told her how he was worried about her. He tried calling her and she didn’t even answer his phone calls. Jungwoo was worried that she was just walking around in the rain without an umbrella. Then Haneul asked Jungwoo if he was embarrassing her like that. Jungwoo was obviously clueless to what she was talking about. Haneul felt like Jungwoo is making her life more low and pitiful right now so she just wants to call it quits which surprised him a bit.

Haneul feels like she is really not in a position to be dating right now. It was fine for her yesterday but it’s not after all that’s happened to her. Haneul feels like things are constantly changing for her. She’s not sure if she is resting or collapsing, she can’t tell which. Jungwoo was trying to change her mind somehow but he couldn’t, at least not now anyway.

Haneul was telling Jungwoo that she’s the type of person that’s too much to handle even for herself. Haneul felt bad she had to do this so she was crying and walking away slowly but Jungwoo decided to say something to her while she was still nearby. He was asking her if she would be able to just go through her struggles with him. Jungwoo is willing to be there for her while she is struggling, he feels that things could be easier if they go through it together although she might think differently about this.

I was so heartbroken when Haneul told Jungwoo that she doesn’t want to go through it with him. Honestly, if I were in his position I would want him to be by my side but for dramatic purposes it has to be this way to fulfill 16 episodes. It’s not that Haneul was being selfish, she just didn’t want to bring Jungwoo into her mess which I could totally understand.

Jungwoo grabbed Haneul’s hand to give her the umbrella so she wouldn’t get wet.  Jungwoo said that Haneul doesn’t have to like him nor date him but he wishes that she takes the umbrella.

I was so sad that Jungwoo walked away in the rain so sadly, just looking at his back walking away like that made me so sad. Obviously, Haneul wasn’t happy for doing this either but I guess she just needs a full blown alone time to work out some things.

The ending of this episode was kinda sad, maybe even bitter sweet. The last scene of Haneul crying in the rain while holding the vinyl umbrella that he gave her made my heart hurt a little. Also, it seemed very picturesque because of the colorful lights reflecting in the background too.

I’m really looking forward to episode 9 and 10 but I wonder what’s gonna be happening. I really hope that Haneul will be able to work things out on her end. And soon enough when she is ready Miss. Nam Haneul should be back in Yeo Jungwoo’s arms again.

I wonder what’s going to happen since Haneul called it quits but from the little preview they showed us while the ending credit was going on for episode 8, it seemed like things could look hopeful.

You gotta remember that we are technically in ACT 2 and that’s when good things happen then they fall out and ACT 3 is all about finding their places to back to where they are supposed to be and resolution.

I was so happy that Jungwoo and Haneul finally got together on episode 8 and Haneul ended it on the same episode……

Usually in this kinds of K-dramas relationship usually doesn’t work out at the beginning cus of family members, rival man/rival woman, or both but here the only thing that seemed to get in the way is Kyungmin, Haneul’s personal issues and maybe once these things are resolved Jungwoo’s mom might fly back to Korea from the US and try to get in the way of their relationship…Who knows? We still have 8 more episodes to go.

We are literally half way through this show and I’m enjoying it a lot. In every episode Jungwoo/Hyungsik looks so adorable and episode 8 certainly had cute moments I would want to rewatch every so often.
