Jen finally got her own apartment. She finally moved away from the nest but she made sure to call home from time to time so they wouldn’t worry about her well being so much.
Changsoo has been so busy with taking care of some of the mess that his brothers have been causing. Jen was looking into some documents and she realized that his brothers messed up the deal with some American companies that were gonna invest into Yumin. This is all thanks to his brothers trying to take Changsoo down.
Jen is settled in now at her new rooftop apartment and she’s been living there for a week.
Changsoo’s father finally caught onto the deep relationship between his son and Jen, his personal secretary.
Changsoo’s father regretted that he promoted Jen to be his son’s secretary but it was already too late for regrets because they were too deeply in love for him to reverse it.
Changsoo’s father found out about his son and Jen because of his other two sons that are planning to take down Changsoo.
Meanwhile, Mr Jang of Taejin group had something up his sleeves. He had a big ambition for devouring Yumin and other corporations. It’s not even merging, it’s more like devouring what Chairman Jang is doing.
Mr Yoo, the chairman of Yumin corp, has no idea of Taejin’s other motives. Chairman Yoo was naive in thinking that Mr Jang just wanted a simple merging of the two companies by their children marrying into the family.
Director Yoo wanted his own corporate lawyer, more like his own personal lawyer. He was looking into hiring one but wasn’t sure. He felt like he might need someone good to represent him because he was able to smell something coming on in the air.
Changsoo decided to look into hiring his own personal lawyer for what’s going on with his brothers and his own dad. Changsoo loves his dad so he doesn’t want to have to go through legal battles with him but right now he is in a bit of trouble cus of his dad and brothers.
He was supposed to gain a huge investment for Yumin from this one large American company but they decided to cancel it because of some stupid thing that his brothers did to sabotage him.
Jen was the one who told Changsoo about what was going on. At first he was in denial. He didn’t want to believe that his brothers would stoop that low to sabotage him. Despite the fact that he did not get along with his older brothers, he wanted to believe that there was some good left in them.
Jen was sitting on her desk, working hard as usual and Director Yoo came up to her and showed her some promising applicants. There was this one applicant that annoyed the heck out of him though. Part of the reason was because he looked similar to him, more like he looked exactly like him. The only difference was their hair style and the way they dress perhaps.
“Secretary Park. could you take a look at these applicants for this position that I’m hiring for?”
Changsoo looked really miffed right now. He really liked this one young man’s application but his picture was annoying the heck out of him.
Jen couldn’t help but to notice some guy that looked just like her man, Director Yoo.
“Ohhhh, we have a doppelganger hehehe.”
“Oh shuddup, Secretary Park, it’s not funny.”
“But…why do you look so mad?”
“Me? Mad? I’m not mad…..”
Jen looked at all 10 applicants. Changsoo wanted half of them to come for an interview. Changsoo wanted Jen to help him pick out the candidates but she did something that would irritate him.
“Director Yoo…How about Go Yeonwoo! He looks like a great candidate!”
“What?! That guy? He looks too much like me…!”
“Yeah … .but…..well, at least let him come for an interview and if you don’t like him then we could just forget about it okay?”
Changsoo didn’t want to admit it but he was starting to feel insecure for some reason. This is so not like the Changsoo that most people would remember him as. He was the most famous playboy of Korea but now he was scared that he might lose his lady because of some idiot that wants a job.
Go Yeonwoo just got out of jail and with the help of Lawyer Choi he is able to slowly get back on his feet again and through Lawyer Choi he heard about this company called Yumin. Everyone in Korea knows that Yumin is a good company to work for, and that goes for any position and Changsoo happened to need someone that would need his expertise. This was becoming a win-win deal for Go Yeonwoo and Yoo Changsoo both.
Jen was the first one to tell Changsoo about the American company canceling their proposal on him. Jen is a very thorough secretary so she was able to catch all the details and the nitty gritty stuff. Unfortunately she was able to find out that the American company that was so promising canceled on them because of Changsoo’s jealous older brothers.
Kang and Ham was ran by Ms. Kang now instead of Mr Ham. Ms Kang and Lawyer Choi worked well together. However they felt that Yeonwoo is better off just doing his own thing, away from Kang and Ham. This is why Yeonwoo sent out an application to Yumin.
For some odd reason Jen was looking through all the applicants with Changsoo after office hours before going home.
“Director Yoo….these five candidates look promising!” Yeonwoo’s application was one of them.
Director Yoo wasn’t only bothered by the fact that Yeonwoo was his doppleganger but another thing that bothered him was he has a criminal record. Changsoo wasn’t sure if he should look past that or not. Director Yoo had no idea that Jen chose him as one of the five candidates that they should interview tomorrow.
“Upright girl like you … .why would you select a guy with a criminal record?” Changsoo asked, confused and miffed.
“His philosophy about life seems profound…I also like the fact that he’s trying so hard to survive with so little he has…” Jen said while smiling. This bothered Changsoo a lot but he decided to not to ask anymore questions and let Yeonwoo be one of the five people to be interviewed tomorrow.
“Fine…I like the other four, but I do not like this Go Yeonwoo guy but since you want him to be interviewed so badly, I will allow it…but babe…you owe me one later…” Changsoo winked and Jen knew exactly what this meant.
Meanwhile, Changsoo’s brothers are telling their father that Changsoo would have to compromise to get back that American deal but these idiots do not realize that compromises don’t happen just like that. Besides, Changsoo was planning on flying over to Los Angeles California to solve the problem himself. Changsoo is planning to take a translator with him to help him out with language barriers.
Changsoo’s mother, Yoonha and Joongi all know about what’s been going down but they want to help Changsoo. Jen was willing to do everything that she was able to help Changsoo in her own way.
Jen thought about something, she thought that having Yeonwoo around would be a good idea after Changsoo leaves for the States to solve some issues because they look exactly alike so people would think that Changsoo never left the country in the first place. This will be a good way to trick his dumb brothers, Chairman Yoo and even Taejin group’s Chairman Jang.
Jen has been loving her new rooftop apartment. She had the freedom to invite whoever she wanted, when she wanted without worrying about her family. Director Yoo could even spend the night if he felt like it but he hasn’t done that yet.
Jen and Changsoo were at Jen’s new rooftop apartment now and they were laying together in Jen’s bed.
“So, should I…?” Changsoo wanted to spend the night with Jen but he didn’t want to force that one on Jen.
“I don’t see why not….” Jen said nonchalantly.
Jen didn’t mind her boyfriend spending the night with her at her new rooftop apartment. Part of the reason why she wanted to live out on her own was because of things like this.
“Okay….” Changsoo kissed Jen on the head gently. Director Yoo has been really tired lately because of the things that have been going on at the company. Changsoo has been stressed out. He has to hire his own lawyer to help him out, he has to go to the States to sort things out with the people there and he wants to be a good boyfriend to Jen.
Changsoo just held Jen and wanted to go to sleep peacefully.
“Babe…let’s go to sleep…I’m a little tired.”
“Okay…” Jen said while sighing. Jen kissed her boyfriend on the head as well.
“I could do that too ya know…” Jen giggled.
Changsoo tickled Jen and kissed her on the lips this time.
“We should just go to sleep without doing anything tonight…” Changsoo said, giving her a weak wink.
“Okay, honey….let’s do that…we have a long day tomorrow…” Jen agreed to that. If it weren’t for all these stressful things going on they would be doing the shagadelic by now.
Jen started to sigh because they have to interview five candidates tomorrow and Jen will be helping Changsoo with the interviewing process. This is a bit new to her because she’s never interviewed anybody before.
Jen and Changsoo cuddled together on her bed at her new rooftop apartment.
It was the next morning, this was Changsoo’s first time ever sleeping at a girl’s house like this. Changsoo saw Jen’s bed hair and watched her getting ready for work.
“Honey….don’t just stare at me like that…we need to get going…..we are gonna have a long day ahead of us!” Jen said while doing her hair and making breakfast sandwiches for the both of them.
Changsoo was in his clothes from last night and Jen was freaking out.
“Honey….you don’t have an extra pair of clothes huh?”
“Don’t worry, I took care of that already … .my driver is gonna bring me a pair of clothes for me to wear.”
Jen was relieved. She managed to get ready in a jiffy and the couple finished eating their breakfast sandwiches.
“Babe, you are a good cook….At least I know I won’t starve….” Changsoo said jokingly. Ever since Changsoo and Jen started dating, he’s become more goofy. I guess this is what happens when you are in love.
Changsoo’s driver came at the right time. The driver brought Changsoo a new pair of clothes to wear and he thanked him for taking the time to bring it to him.
Once Changsoo changed into something new, the couple was ready to head out.
“You look good! You look sharp!” Jen complimented her man.
“Do I?” Changsoo was happy that she complimented him. Before leaving Jen’s new apartment, they made out really quickly underneath all of Jen’s laundry hanging up.
“Let’s go!” Changsoo said while holding her hand.
They both walked to his car and were heading towards Yumin Corp.
As soon as they got there, there was a lot of hubbub going on. There were reporters interviewing Chairman Yoo. Yoonha and Joongi were trying to observe what’s going on.
Jen knew that Changsoo’s brothers and his father were up to something silly again. Jen didn’t understand. Why can’t they just let Changsoo succeed? With Changsoo’s dad he is too far gone trying to merge with Taejin, that he wants to get rid of Jen and it’s understandable but what would the brothers get out of all this? Jen just could not comprehend all of this.
Changsoo protected Jen and Jen protected Changsoo as they were going up to Changsoo’s office.
The five candidates that Jen and Changsoo selected were already waiting at the waiting room to be interviewed. Jen made sure to call them before they even left the office yesterday afternoon.
Even in this hectic situation the five candidates were patiently waiting to be interviewed. Changsoo and Jen managed to interview the four that’s not Go Yeonwoo but the couple thought they were mediocre and didn’t stand out. Their resumes were pretty good but weren’t super outstanding or anything. Although, they were better than the other five applicants that they decided not to interview.
“Go Yeonwoo!” Secretary Park called him into Changsoo’s office.
Yeonwoo was neatly dressed but the only thing was his sneakers. He had a nice gray suit that fit him just right, clean white dress shirt, and a slim tie. Yeonwoo had short hair unlike Changsoo, he had a very clean cut image but then his shoes? He was wearing converse sneakers instead of dress shoes like most people here at the office.
Secretary Park was friendly towards Yeonwoo but she is the secretary and it’s her job to be friendly towards everybody but Changsoo didn’t like it one bit.
“Come on in, Mr. Go.” said secretary Park in her usual sweet and friendly voice.
Yeonwoo bowed and showed respect to Jen and she smiled back at him as a courtesy but Changsoo gave her a dirty look.
“Have a seat here please, Director Yoo will be interviewing you in a moment..Would you like some coffee or tea or anything?” Jen asked politely.
“Oh, coffee please..thank you…” Go Yeonwoo said shyly. He really wanted this job, this is a fresh new start after being in jail for two years. However, Changsoo was glaring at him and Jen saw that which made her giggle. Jen never knew that Changsoo had this kind of childish side to him and she thought it was adorable.
Yeonwoo sat right across from Changsoo and Changsoo started the interview process while Jen was taking down notes.
“So, I see you have a criminal record….” Changsoo decided to be mean about it.
“Yes, I do. I did my time and I’m honest about it. I already paid for my wrongs and now I am here to make everything right again.” Yeonwoo looked so determined and Changsoo liked that. He didn’t want to like it but he liked the never give up kinda attitude.
Jen decided to whisper something to Changsoo. She was telling him that it would be good to hire Yeonwoo because that way when he goes to America to sort things out with the people there, Yeonwoo could pretend to be him and nobody would know that he even left the country. This is a good tactic to use to confuse his brothers that are trying to take him down for something so stupid.
Changsoo thought Jen had a point so he decided to go along with it despite how he feels about Go Yeonwoo otherwise.
“Go Yeonwoo! You are hired! But this doesn’t mean I’m gonna let you off the hook. You’ll be on a 3 month probation period! I’m gonna be watching you and if you don’t do your job right, then you are gonna be out, got that?”
“Yes, sir.” Yeonwoo was respectful towards his new boss even if his tone seems a bit on the rude side. However, Secretary Park was nice to him.
“You are gonna be helping me out with some situations. I will be heading to America to sort some things out….it’s a mess…a family mess…..so I need you to keep an eye on what my brothers do and also my dad. As of today, you’ll be my personal corporate lawyer.” Changsoo said in a demanding voice.
“Yes sir, I’ll get right on that. I came fully prepared.”
There was one thing that both Jen and Changsoo noticed on his resume and that was his sharp, almost photogenic memory.
Changsoo decided to test his memory out for the heck of it, even if he already got the job.
“Read this and tell me what it said there word for word.” Changsoo said in a demanding voice again.
Yeonwoo said what he read verbatimly as he saw it and this impressed Changsoo and even Jen.
“Ohhh…” Changsoo said a little mesmerized. Yeonwoo having a good memory could also help Changsoo with his case since his brothers are not the brightest guys in the world. Jen was equally impressed but wasn’t so outwardly expressing it cus she was afraid that her boyfriend might get jealous.
Jen made some coffee for Yeonwoo earlier but he didn’t even drink any of it because he was so nervous. Trying to start all over from scratch was difficult but he was still thankful that this rude boss even gave him a chance at all. Yeonwoo thought he might not even get the job cus of his record.
“You didn’t drink your coffee?” Jen asked Yeonwoo.
“Oh, yea, sorry Miss Park….I was just focusing on the interview.” Yeonwoo said in a sweet and friendly manner.
Changsoo wanted to get Yeonwoo out of the room as fast as he could cus he felt like the two were flirting with each other even if that’s not the case at all.
“Okay, Mr. Go! You are dismissed now! Don’t be late tomorrow! Be here by 8am sharp! I don’t like people that are not punctual!” Said Changsoo.
“Yes, sir….I will be on time!” Yeonwoo did a salute to Changsoo and bowed to Secretary Park and left the room.
“Gosh that kid is so damn annoying!”said Changsoo trying his best to swallow his pride a bit.
“You don’t like him right?” Changsoo asked Jen.
“You don’t trust me, Director Yoo? You think I like him? It’s my job to be friendly to everyone, I am your secretary…remember?”
“Yeah, that’s true…”
Changsoo was pouting and Jen found it to be cute. She put his head on her shoulder and patted him on the head.
“Director Yoo, stop acting like a child, you are a grown man….”
“I know…..”
“You used to be that famous Yoo Changsoo, the most famous playboy of Korea but now you are afraid of that newbie?”
“Don’t worry honey….he won’t steal me away from you…” Said Jen trying to reassure him.
“I’m worried…I’ll be leaving in a few days to America and what if you fall for him while I’m gone? I’m gonna be gone for two weeks…anything can happen in two weeks…”
“Honey, don’t be silly…Listen…..please trust me….you love me right? Then you gotta learn how to trust me……I’m not going anywhere … .After you leave, I’ll be focusing on helping you with whatever you need to succeed…” Jen said while coddling him like a baby.
Changsoo was on Jen’s chest just resting like a child and Jen thought that Changsoo was so adorable. Many people never got to see this side of Yoo Changsoo who is just like an immature little child.
“Everything will be fine, so you can go to America without any worries..you got me, your mom, Yoonha, Joongi and now Lawyer Go…..but I’m actually more worried about you.”
“What do you mean?” Changsoo asked while he was still laying on her chest.
“You are such a handsome man, that I should be the one afraid that some stupid woman will steal you away from me…” Jen said while pouting.
“No! Never! You don’t trust me either? Do you babe?”
“I do but….you are handsome and you used to be a playboy so I do have my right to worry too…” Jen started to pout like a little girl which Changsoo hasn’t seen in awhile…
Changsoo straightened up and patted Jen on the head like a little girl…
“Don’t worry…nobody will steal me away from you…..I will always be here … even when I’m in the States we could do face time everyday … .alright?”
Changsoo kissed Jen on the lips gently and tapped her on the shoulder.
“Get back to work now, Secretary Park.”
“Yes, sir!” Jen did the salute thing as she walked over to her desk.
Finally it was the day for Changsoo to leave for America. He packed the night before so he was all ready to go.
Jen drove Changsoo to the airport, and she decided to see him off. Jen decided to give Changsoo her brother’s number since he is going to school in LA so if he needs some kind of assistance he could help him. Jen made sure to call her brother to let him know everything about Changsoo so he wouldn’t be so surprised.
They were both inside of the airport now. Changsoo had a bag full of clothes and stuff for two weeks. He had all the documentation and his plane ticket too.
Jen felt strange about this because she’s never been separated from her boyfriend before. They have been together for awhile and this is the first time to be separated from each other like this. Maybe, this will be a good time for them to grow as a couple.
“I’m gonna miss you babe.”
“Me too.”
“Be a good girl okay? If you need anything, don’t hesitate to call me…you got my number and my social media … .Also, ask my mom, Yoonha and Joongi for help if you need the extra support..”
Changsoo patted Jen on the head and Jen loves this feeling, he doesn’t do it much as he used to but he still does it occasionally and she loves it when he does.
Jen nodded and started to pout like a little girl again.
“Don’t worry, I will be a good girl…”
Jen went over to Changsoo and hugged him really tight. Jen couldn’t help but to cry.
“Why, cry babe…?Two weeks gonna go by so fast…”
“I don’t know…I don’t like being separated like this….”
Changsoo wiped Jen’s tears away with his thumb and just held her. He reassured her that the two weeks were gonna go by fast. They gave each other a big fat kiss and a hug. The couple even made out deeply before him disappearing slowly but surely to take his plane to America.
Jen waved and hoped that these two weeks would go by fast. Jen decided to be a strong girl and pull through with some of the supportive people around her at the company and even her own family if she needs more support. Jen was determined to do her part to make things right for Director Yoo, the man she loves so much.
