Daddy’s Little Girl: Jen’s first day at Kindergarten

·

Jen is a five year old little girl and today is her special day. She is going to be going into kindergarten. Both of her parents, Daddy Shikkie and Mama Hyojoo are there to make sure that their little girl is getting all the support that she needs.

“Mommy, Daddy…do I look cute?” Jen asked cutely.

“Of course sweetie.” said Daddy Shikkie while patting her on the head.

“You are the apple of our eyes, honey…” Mama Hyojoo said and she gave her daughter a sweet kiss on her cheeks.

Lil Jen was dressed to the nines for her first day at this wonderful kindergarten.

“Our little girl is so adorable muah!” Daddy Shikkie said while kissing her on the cheeks.

“Oh honey, what are you gonna do without our little Jen? You love her so much that when you have to give her away when she gets married … .that would be something that I’m looking forward to seeing.” Said Mama Hyojoo, realizing how much her husband loves their baby girl Jen.

“Of course I love our lil baby girl, don’t you my dear?” Shikkie asked, looking at Hyojoo with his goofy smile.

Little Jen looked so cute with her new outfit that they just bought for her and daddy Shikkie kept on taking photos with his professional camera.

“Wow you actually brought a professional camera like that? I thought you were not very good at taking pictures…”

“I really don’t have a talent for photography but I want to learn how to take lots of pictures of our little Jen and also with our little Jen … .so we’ll have tons of memories of her….”

“I am taking lessons to take photos professionally because I want to take nice photos of our daughter……you gotta remember that what remains with us are pictures…”

“You are right honey…..We should take as many photos as we possibly can to create lasting memories…and I support you with your photography class…I want to join you but I have so much to do since I barely got hired as an assistant professor at this university…”

Both Shikkie and Hyojoo are working hard to raise their child and they are willing to do everything and anything to give her the best life they possibly can.

Lil Jen was on her daddy’s lap and her mom was petting her on the head.

“Okay, it’s time for us to go in and meet the teachers.” Mama Hyojoo said with a small smile.

“Okay, let’s get going … .our little baby girl Jen!” said daddy Shikkie.

Jen held on to both her mommy and daddy’s hand on each side while skipping away to go to meet with her teachers full of joy.

The classroom was filled with parents and their kids for this little orientation with some of the teachers that will be teaching the little ones this semester.

Jen was looking around and she was so happy to see all these other children that she could potentially get to know and be friends with. And it made her even more happy that her parents were there to share these precious moments with her.

“Look at all those children, honey…they will be your friends soon.” Hyojoo smiled and patted her on the shoulder while Daddy Shikkie took some more photos of his little baby girl and her mama.

The other parents got acquainted with Hyojoo and Shikkie. Those parents couldn’t help but to look at this family with some envy. Some of these parents introduced themselves to the Park family couple.

“Hi…there…..is that smart little girl yours?” Some mother asked Hyojoo.

“Yes. that little one is surely ours.” Hyojoo answered with a bright smile on her face. Shikkie smiled as well because he was proud to have a daughter like Jen.

All the little girls and little boys were doing some cute little performances in front of their parents. They were all so adorable and their parents were all very proud of them, including Hyojoo and Shikkie too.

The parents loved Jen’s performance the most, she already had a talent to become a star. Jen had leadership skills, different kinds of talent, good looks and good personality to go with it. She took after both of her parents but she really took after her daddy Shikkie. Thankfully both of her parents are multi-talented and gorgeous looking but then Jen took after her dad more so than her mom.

Nobody knew that the children’s performance was an actual contest. One of the main teachers went around to get votes from all the parents who their favorite child is.

“Okay, we enjoyed all the little children performing for our lovely parents. Sorry, that we didn’t tell you in advance that this was gonna be a contest. We wanted it to be a surprise and surprises are always fun right? So here we go…Let’s pick the winner of the song and dance contest. Miss. Jen Park!”

Both Shikkie and Hyojoo looked at each other and they were so happy for their little daughter. Shikkie is a doctor, a pediatrician to be precise but ever since he was a young boy he wanted to be a singer. Shikkie has a great singing voice so whenever hospital staff get together, all of his co-workers compliment him on his singing ability.

“Miss. Jen. Park…would you please come up here? You won this performance competition without even knowing it, surprises are fun right?” One of the head teachers said. Lil Jen was taken aback a little while her parents were smiling and cheering her on. The other parents were cheering her on but yet they were slightly envious too.

Daddy Shikkie was even happier than Mama Hyojoo because he wanted to always be a singer and he feels like she can carry on the legacy of his singing ability by sharing it with the world.

“Babe….I think I discovered Lil Jen’s talent.” Shikkie whispered to Hyojoo.

“What is that honey?”

“Babe…I think we should start training our Lil Jen to become a singer….”

“What? That’s too early! She is only five … .She might have other interests too, honey…”

“Five is not too young…you should know since you studied a little bit about child development…… .Younger the better when it comes to discovering the talent of your child…” Said Shikkie confident about child development.

“I guess you are right … .Let’s think about it together but the most important thing is how our little Jen feels……We can’t be pushing her to do something she doesn’t want to…”

“Babe…..I agree with you…I’m not saying we should make her do something but I think we should keep an eye on what she likes so she could get a head start ya know….”

Lil Jen got an award for a surprise talent show for the first day at her kindergarten. They presented her with a little medal and one of the teachers put it around her neck and the parents, including her own, cheered her on.

“Congratulations!” said her teacher as she put a little gold medal around her neck.

“Thank you!” Jen said with a big smile.

The little performance and the orientation was over and it was time for the kids to go home with their parents.

“Starting from tomorrow, we will go with our normal curriculum so be prepared.” Said one of the head teachers for this kindergarten. One of the other teachers that were in charge of the paper work gave each parent something to sign and once they were done signing the piece of pink paper, they were on their merry way with their children.

“Let’s go, Jen..” said the dad.

“Okay, daddy!” said Jen in her cute little baby voice.

“Did you have fun?” The mom asked while playing with her braided hair.

“Yeah, mommy……I really love singing and dancing…” said Lil Jen happily.

Daddy Shikkie was kneeling down and he had her little daughter on top of him and asked her.

“Do you want to be a singer when you grow up, baby?” The dad asked her sweetly.

“I think so…but I don’t know yet … .I am too young but I like singing and dancing though…it makes me happy too…especially when people are watching me…” Jen said with a lot of hand gestures with an adorable and charming smile. Little Jen got her charming smile from her dad’s side.

Papa Shikkie realized that his little girl is meant to be on stage, sharing her talents with the world.  Although the mom thinks that they should observe her daughter a little more before they come to a conclusion like that.

Papa Shikkie, Mama Hyojoo and Little Jen hopped in the car and headed home. Both parents were happy that their little baby is now a kindergarten student who has her whole life ahead of her.

  3. Mi princesa – My Princess (lyrics)

What miracle has to happen for you to love me
what star from the sky has to fall to convince you
that doesn’t feel my soul alone
I want to escape from this eternal dusk

A lot of people say that men never cry
but I’ve have to returned to my childhood once again
    I continue asking myself
why I continue loving you and you leave me with my bleeding wounds

I can’t cover you with jewels and money,
but I can give you a heart that’s truthful
my wings in the wind, need of your kisses
join me in the journey, because lonely I can’t make it

And you know that you are the princess of my enchanted dreams
how many wars I’ve waged to have you here by my side
I don’t get tired of looking for you
I wouldn’t care to risk you
if at the end of this adventure I could win you over

And I have painted my princes in an imaginary painting
I sang to her ear whispering very slow
    so long I’ve been wrecked
and I know it wasn’t in vain
    I haven’t stop trying
because I do believe in miracles

I continue walking in the desert of desire
so many midnights I’ve lost myself in the memories
    living the desperation
dying in the sadness for not seeing change in this destiny

I can’t cover you with jewels and money,
but I can give you a heart that is truthful
my wings in the wind, need from your kisses
join mi in the journey that lonely I can’t make it

And you know that you are the princess of my enchanted dreams
how many wars I’ve waged to have you here by my side
I don’t get tired of looking for you
I wouldn’t care to risk you
if at the end of this adventure I could win you over

And I have painted my princes in an imaginary painting
I sang to her ear whispering very slow

and I know it wasn’t in vain
    I haven’t stop trying

  4. I was listening to some songs from one of my fav singers and this one reminded me of this fanfic. David Bisbal wrote Mi princesa for his daughter and now that I’m a Shikkoholic pacient in my mind it sounds like Sikkie serenading lil Jen.

  6. I enjoy their family dinamic. They are not afraid of speak out their minds bc they treat each other with respect and love. Nowadays families have a lot of disagreements because they don’t really listen to each other, they rebuke and get angry without paying attention to each other.

  7. The reason why I see Shikkie and Hyojoo pair working very well is because even in their interview it comes out that way….

I think they will play off each other and balance each other with harmony and thats what the kid will learn from….the good stuff and be a good role model to society…..

I love Daddy Shikkie, Mama Hyojoo and Lil Jen family dyanmics! Even as I’m writing it brings smile to my face….

I’m glad u are enjoying it ……despite your personal situation…

  8. He was raised that way and kids learn from what they see from their parents and his parents are good examples and good role model…

He said he wasn’t really academic…his grades were poor…although he made sure to come home straight from school…so he never hung out with kids that are bad influences…..played games with his big brother……..cooked ramen noodles for himself and even made rice over eggs with soy sauce……

He learned how to be responsible, while not having to depend on his grades to get anywhere in life……

His parents helped him see what his talents were at a young age and developed them so he was able to succeed cus of that even if he didnt too good in school…

Also because of the good genes from both of his parents…he got the handsome face from his dad, his tall height from his mother….and his eyes are both sharp like his dad and he has the puppy eyes like his mom…..

  9. I agree with mom Hyo Joo, it is not necessary to rush and project your own desires onto your children. When the time comes, they express their thoughts.

  10. Like I said….he is an involved dad…not super obsessive….well…not until her teen years but involved enough to know what her talents are early enough to help her discover what she was born to do…….
