Jen was heading to work in a good mood and she just couldn’t help but to get Changsoo off of her mind. Jen’s goal isn’t to get into a serious relationship yet, not until she gets herself a permanent position at Yumin Corp.

Changsoo just found out Jen doesn’t have a permanent full time position, she is just an intern. Jen’s plan is to work her way up with her own talents, skills and merits. She doesn’t mind taking it step by step. 

Changsoo saw Jen’s resume and it looked pretty impressive. She has a good education, a lot of different kinds of talents, social skills and she did a lot of volunteer work as well. Changsoo didn’t understand why she didn’t get a full time position at Yumin with her resume looking so good. Changsoo wanted to just scrap her intern position and bring her on board full time as his personal secretary.

Jen was an intern helping out Deputy Choi Joongi. Choi Joongi got into the company with the help of Changsoo. This is the thing that’s different about Jen and Joongi. Joongi isn’t really willing to get up there on his own merits and just use someone with power as a stepping stone to skip all the necessary stages and steps.

“Do you need me to do anything else, Deputy Choi?”

“Can you go to the copier room and make some more copies for me…? Thank you Jen….” Joongi said politely.

Joongi likes Yoonha, the youngest daughter of Taejin group, Yoonha likes Changsoo and Lee Jiyi who’s a part timer at the Yumin grocery store likes Joongi.

There is another girl that likes Changsoo and that’s Sion….she is a daughter of one of the big companies that Changsoo’s father wants him to marry. Changsoo really can’t stand Sion because she is always talking off his ears and Yoonha….he just thought of her as a sister and that’s it.

Changsoo never really liked anyone seriously….women/girls were just playthings to him until Jen showed up. He would party all the time with girls after closing hours and he would hit up a bar or a club to look for more women there. However, Changsoo didn’t feel like doing anything like that…. Anymore… and one of his old friends called him….

“Hey, Changsoo … .Do you want to go to this hottest club in Gangnam with me? They got some hot chicks there.”

“No! Not interested!” Changsoo said without any hesitation.

“Really? Is this really the Changsoo that I know? I know you love hot clubs? What’s with you man?”

“ I really don’t feel like it…Bye……I’m hanging up!”

Changsoo had no idea why he’s behaving like this … .this is not his usual self because normally he would have said yes whenever he got invited to these things. 

Jen was at the copier room copying some documents and Changsoo saw her there. He was thinking about the offer that he was gonna give her earlier.

“Hey…..Jen…right?” Changsoo lightly touched her shoulder.

Jen remembered what happened last night and she had a hard time facing him. Normally Jen isn’t the shy one but she felt so shy that she was blushing and couldn’t hide it. 

Changsoo saw her blushing face and found it to be cute.

“Jen…I saw your resume…it’s pretty impressive…..would you like to work for me as my personal secretary?” Changsoo said in a very sweet tone of voice.

Jen wanted to climb up with her own merit, her own strength, her talents and skills. However someone high up offering something sounded really good but she decided to turn it down.

“No, thanks…..I don’t feel like using somebody’s power to get to where I want to go…” Jen said in the most matter of factly. However this made Changsoo even like her more since he is so used to girls just wanting to get close to him for what he has…his looks and his money … .But Jen was different.

“I personally think it’s wrong to use someone to climb up the corporate ladder. Even if it’s difficult and challenging, I would rather show everyone that I was able to achieve it on my own merits.” Jen said again with a confident voice.

Changsoo clapped really loud and enthusiastically too.

“Bravo…Wow…..that’s really cool for you to say that…I wasn’t trying to test you or anything…but I really like your answer…..Personally…I don’t like being used….that’s the thing I hate the most! I have been used a lot most of my life…through friends…even through my so-called girlfriends ….”

“Oh…sorry to hear that…” Jen smiled.

Changsoo really thinks highly of Jen, she is so different from every single girl that he has interacted with so far but they were either gold diggers or they just wanted to use him for something which he hated the most but Jen was upright, innocent, hard working, pretty and actually kind of sweet.

“Hey, do you want to go for some coffee?” Changsoo asked.

“Oh sorry, I can’t…..”

“Why not?”

“I have to go eat lunch with Jiyi and Deputy Choi…” Said Jen politely.

“Can’t you cancel it?”

“I can’t…….”

“Why?”

“Because I already made an appointment with them so it would be rude to cancel it at the last minute … .I better get going, nice talking to you, Director Yoo..”

Jen walked away confidently while humming a song. Changsoo felt like he’d been hit on the head with something. Changsoo can’t deny that Jen is very charming and even sexy but in a very unique way that he’s not used to. 

Changsoo went back to his office and he was trying to take care of some paperwork while he was sitting at his desk but he got a phone call. It was his mom. 

“Hey…Changsoo it’s mommy … .Who do you belong to?”

“Changsoo belongs to mommy…”

“Good boy….now…..I have to tell you something….”

“What is it mom?”

“I want you to meet Yoonha later on tonight….actually she was the one that called me first and she asked me to convince you to meet with her…..I think she likes you….”

“Mom…how many times do I have to tell you that she is just a sister to me…I’m not attracted to her as a woman…at all…”

“Are you serious about that son?”

“Yes, mother…….”

“How about Sion?”

“I can’t stand that bimbo…..”

“Mom, I gotta go, I have work to do…”

Changsoo hung up with his mom and he began looking through the documents he was looking at from earlier. Changsoo didn’t want to fool around anymore, he wanted to actually contribute to the company which his brothers would probably hate. Also, he didn’t really want to go to clubs and bars either.

Meanwhile, Jen was with Joongi and Jiyi eating lunch. They bought some sandwiches and sodas. Jen knew that Jiyi had a thing for Joongi but he only treated her as a friend and a co-worker. Joongi liked Yoonha from Taejin group.

“How’s the internship treating you?” Joongi asked.

“I like it…it’s a lot of fun…..I’m learning a lot…but I can’t wait till I become a full time permanent employee…” Jen said cheerfully. 

“Don’t worry, Jen…you will be a regular full time employee in no time…You only have been here for a few days but you have a lot of skills that people are complimenting your work already!”Joongi complimented Jen with a friendly smile. Jiyi smiled too. 

“Good luck Jen!” said Jiyi. Jiyi just barely met Jen through Joongi. Joongi met Jiyi through Yoonha not too long ago.

Changsoo was hungry and he was on his way to go get some lunch too but he saw Jen eating with his friend Joongi and the part timer at the grocery section, Lee Jiyi. Changsoo decided to bother her.

“Hey Joongi! What’s up buddy!”

“What are you doing here Changsoo?”

“I came here to get lunch.”

“You are gonna eat here? I thought you normally go to fancy restaurants for your meals…”

“No, I want to eat some of the stuff you regular people eat…”

Changsoo went and got some sandwiches and a soda too. He was sitting right next to Jen. Jen felt flustered again but tried really hard not to show it. Jen usually is really cool around the guys but she realized that with Changsoo she was getting butterflies in her tummy but didn’t really know why. She is here to work, not fall in love, at least not yet anyways.

“Hi Jen…” Changsoo sweetly smiled at her and she didn’t know what to do….She decided to make some lame excuse and take the rest of the sandwich upstairs to her division of the office she’s working at.

“Deputy Choi, Jiyi, I gotta go…I realized that I had some work that I forgot to finish…” Then Jen bolted as fast as she could.

Changsoo caught on fast. He is really good with the matters of the heart and women. He knew that Jen was up to something and he decided to follow her.

Jen was at her desk nervously finishing up her sandwich and drank her soda to make it go down properly. She ate the sandwich so fast that she was coughing then she heard a voice.

“You okay?” It was Changsoo and it scared the heck out of her.

“Oh…hi director…” Jen said awkwardly and nervously. 

“Do you really have work to do?”

“Yeah…I do…”

“You weren’t running away from me right?”

Jen tried her best to keep her cool.

“Why would I do that director……..Why would I do such a thing?”

“You like me right?” Changsoo asked while leaning close to her….

Jen’s face was blushing so she quickly excused herself……

“I…I need to go to the restroom………Please excuse me director…”

Jen talked to him politely and formally, she wanted to address him that way cus he is a man in a high position. Once Jen got to the bathroom and she washed her face with cold water. Jen promised herself not to get caught up in both office politics and office romance. At least she doesn’t have to worry about office politics so much but office romance she is concerned about now……

Jen decided to go back to her seat but he was still there waiting for her.

“Am I that hot?” Changsoo came close and patted Jen on the head…

“No…..you…..are not hot…no…” Jen took out all the papers that needed to be copied and walked over to the copier room. She tried to ignore the director as best as she could but he kept on following her. 

“Director Yoo, why are you following me?”

“Because…….I want to get to know you….”

“Why?”

“I think I like you…” Changsoo said very frankly.

“I don’t know……you are rumored to be a bit of a womanizer and I don’t like that…….I am not a cheap girl like some of the women that you played with in the past….”

After Jen said that she instantly regretted it. Even though Joongi is her direct boss, Changsoo is the actual boss since Joongi has to answer to Changsoo in the end. She didn’t want to get fired over some dumb office politics and office romance so she decided to say sorry.

“Sorry, director Yoo, I was out of line…please forgive me..” Jen put her head down and apologized to him but Changsoo kept on patting her on the head which she seemed to like. 

Jen realized something, she didn’t want to admit it but deep inside she knew she was attracted to Changsoo. 

“If you are sorry…then can you do me a favor? If you do, I will forget everything you just said about me….”

“What is it……director?”

“Can I take you out on a coffee date?” 

“That’s it?”

“What were you expecting? Were you expecting me to take you to a hotel?”

“NO!”

Jen and Changsoo both knew that they were attracted to each other.  Jen was comfortably giggling in front of director Yoo and he was smiling at her. Changsoo never smiled like that for a girl before. 

“Okay, we are on a coffee date…wait for me after work…..I will drive us to a nice coffee shop…” said Changsoo while patting her head again. 

Yoonha saw this as she was walking towards Changsoo’s office to meet him. Yoonha doesn’t know about Jen yet and who she is.
