I’ve been wanting to do this for awihle….Analyzing Hyungsik’s characters and himself. Some are very similar, some are kinda similar and some are not really similar at all. I’m gonna analyze each character from the most similar to Hyungsik and the least similar to him so here it goes…..
Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (2017)- Ahn Minhyuk

The reason why I chose Minmin to be the closest to Sikki’s actual personality is cus Minmin is very goofy and playful like the actor himself. Minmin likes to tease Bongsoon, act like a kid around her and I can kinda see that in Sikki too. When it comes to Park Hyungsik as a person, playfulness is one of the traits that you can’t leave out and Ahn Minhyuk certainly has that trait.
What Happens to My Family (2014)- Cha Dalbong

Next is Cha Dalbong. Cha Dalbong is hot headed and I think the real Hyungsik is less hot headed than this guy in my observation of him. However, Dalbong is very childlike and kinda goofy too a lot of the times. Dalbong is really sweet to Seowool and I think I could see Hyungsik treating someone he likes this way too.
The Heirs (2013)- Jo Myungsoo

Jo Myungsoo is such a childlike goofball all the way so this is certainly a Hyungsik trait. Also, Myungsoo is not a good student, his grades are poor and Hyungsik said that his grades were really poor when he was in school in one of his interview for Happiness.
Sountrack #1 (2022)- Han Seon Woo

Seon Woo seems like a very caring guy. He is sweet, gentle, he really looks out for his childhood love Eunsoo and I think that Hyungsik will probably treat his ladylove in a similar manner.
Happiness (2021)- Jung Yihyun.

I remember watching an interview with Hyungsik and Hyojoo and Hyungsik was saying that his personality is 70 percent similar to Yihyun. Part of the reason it wasn’t so high was because Yihyun isn’t as playful. Yihyun is a bit more reserved than Hyungsik himself.
High Society (2015)- Yoo Changsoo

Yoo Changsoo can be a bit of a Tsundere and also he doesn’t seem to be enjoying childlike stuff like arcades and amusement parks. However, Hyungsik would dig those things. Also, Hyungsik is certainly no tsundere. Maybe the most similar thing is Changsoo is humble despite his background and has a big heart kinda like Hyungsik.
Juror8 (2019)- Kwaon Namwoo

Namwoo is a very fair person and thats why he wanted to take his time looking at the case more carefully and I feel like Hyungsik would be into doing things fair and square.
Suits (2018)- Go Yeonwoo

Hyungsik said in one of his interviews that he wanted to be a cop or a lawyer when he was a kid because he wanted to help people learn to get along with one another and take care of their differences. He didn’t like other kids fighting and getting into conflicts. Go Yeonwoo was exactly like how he was when he was a kid. Yeonwoo kinda mediated between his clients and the other sides so they can meet each other half way and come to an agreement of some kind.
Hwarang (2016)- Sam Maekjong/Kim Jindwi/Emperor/King Jinheung of Shilla Dynasty

I think they are similar in a sense that he is passionate and when he is focused on something he would try to get a hold of it. I think that Hyungsik would do that too since hes a scorpio and all but I don’t think he is so obsessed to the point where he loses his way.
Our Blooming Youth (2023)- Crown Prince Lee Hwan of Joseon/Chosun/ Scholar Park when he is in disguise.

By the way, that photo above is the one that Viki used and that photo alone swept me off my feet…Anyways, this is probably the character that is the least similar to Hyungsik. Although I am sure there are still some similarities but overall a lot less than compared with the other characters he played over the years.
First of all Hyungsik does not have a good memory, he said so in an interview. He said he easily forgets things so he has to compartmentalize it. Also, whenever he is memorizing lines, he would memorize the ones he has to then once he doesn’t need it anymore, he deletes it from his brain and put new info in there. However, Lee Hwan has a good memory, he could remember everything in detail whatever he reads like Go Yeonwoo but Go Yeonwoo has a slight limitation, he could only remember what he could understand but Lee Hwan could remember everything, he literally has a photogentic memory.
Another thing is Hyungsik really had to act with this one cus he is not restricted like this normally, not even when he is acting but the crown prince is so repressed in so many ways which I cannot see Hyungsik do. I was impressed by Hyungsik playing the crown prince because this character is so different from his actual personality that I could say that he was acting, portraying a character instead of playing himself. This goes to show that Hyungsik is growing as an actor and honing his craft!
I hope you (The Reader) could agree with me, if not we can just learn to agree to disagree…..
