I’ve been watching this show called Familiar Wife, it’s currently airing and there are four more episodes to go. Lately, I’ve been really intrigued by the actor Ji Sung which I’m a bit surprised about. I knew that he was a great actor once I started watching a show called DEFENDANT early last year but I wasn’t fangirling over Ji Sung or anything but that changed once I started watching FAMILIAR WIFE!

I can’t believe that I didn’t get into him in the past, even after watching DEFENDANT which was a great show! Once I realized that I was being a fangirl over Ji Sung after started watching FAMILIAR WIFE, I began to binge watch just about all of Ji Sung’s previous works; including shows like SECRET LOVE and KILL ME HEAL ME…..Once watching KILL ME HEAL ME, I knew that he was the real deal since he was able to portray like seven different personalities/ characters in one show.

Back to FAMILIAR WIFE….this show kinda reminds me of MANHOLE or should I say I reacted the same way when watching each of the shows. Both have some kind of time travelling and parallel universe elements which I really dig and the characters really pull me in all at the same time. FAMILIAR WIFE AND MANHOLE BOTH have the qualities of a slice of life show which I am fond of. I was getting burnt out of the whole SAGEUKS AND JAEBOL dramas but both of the shows I mentioned  above might have a little bit of Chaebol stuff going on in the background but that’s not what it’s solely about and that’s why I like them so much.

FAMILIAR WIFE  has reliability in so many ways than other K-dramas because the Main male lead played by Ji Sung is just a regular guy that works as an Assistant Manager at a local bank which is completely different from his usual characters that he plays. And I also get to feast on his youthfulness in this show because he even dresses like a college student, a boy next door. Ji Sung and so many other Korean male actors are suited and booted in a lot of shows which I’m okay but from time to time I want to see that regular boy next door kinda look. In Familiar Wife Ji Sung just wears regular three piece suit for his job at the bank which is kind of refreshing to me. In other shows Ji Sung’s character would drive a fancy car but in FAMILIAR WIFE he either takes the subway train or just a regular car that a person from an average income bracket would drive. So basically his character is easy to relate since most Chaebol dramas feels like a twisted fantasy to me at this point, just another rehash of a Cinderella Story but Familiar Wife is different. It’s just about two ordinary young professionals.

I’m just fangirling right now in this article, I can’t even call it an article because I’m just pure and simply fangirling over Ji Sung and his new show FAMILIAR WIFE. You guys should check it out if you were a fan of KILL ME HEAL ME and became a Ji Sung fan, even on a moderate level. I know that a lot of people became his fan because of KILL ME HEAL ME but I think you won’t regret watching FAMILIAR WIFE!
