I’m super into a show called Manhole right now. I am sad because the rating is very low which I don’t understand but oh well. I am enjoying it a lot. The main thing I like about the show is because it has time slip/time travelling, I am really into stuff like that. Sci Fi/ fantasy type of stuff really lures me in. I think it is refreshing compared to the Sageuks that can seem very stale and the K-drama that always have some kind of Jaebols in the story, I’m burnt out on those subjects really.

At first when I heard about this show I wasn’t quite sure. Honestly when your show is filled with idols it can go either way. Even though the ratings might be super low in Korea, I still love it and usually I’m the type that don’t really like to watch a drama cus some idol is in it. Sometimes Idols can make or break the show, it really depends on their acting chops. I don’t know why but I love Jae Joong, Uee, and Baro in this show. I have seen Uee in Fool’s love before and she was actually okay. Baro is from a band called B1A4 and honestly I’m not a huge fan of that group and  I hardly know any of their songs but Baro really caught my eyes in this show.

Jaejoong is the main guy in Manhole: Wonderland’s Phil but for some reason I’m more into Baro than Jaejoong but that doesn’t mean Jae Joong isn’t significant in this. He is, it’s just that,  I’m watching Baro more carefully in Manhole. I think it’s cus he is an underdog in this and also he is a bit of a dork despite the fact that he hasn’t been able to pass his civic entrance exam. Watching a cool idol guy looking like a dork is actually kind of cute.

Also, Jung Hye Sung caught my eyes too. I’ve seen her once before in a show called, REMEMBER: WAR OF THE SON..in that particular drama,  her character seemed promising but they didn’t give her much to do so she drifted away. However, in this show she has lots to do…!

I’m sure if anyone that are  JYJ fans or After School fans or even B1A4 fans,they probably have started to watch this show since it aired…or maybe not…. I’m still sadden by the fact that the rating is so darn low…What a bummer.

Manhole is a mixture between Alice in wonderland and Cinderella. Manhole is basically the rabbit hole from Alice in Wonderland and Phil travels back in time from 2017 and 2007 but it has to happen at midnight which borrowed from Cinderella. Borrowing ideas from fairy tales don’t guarantee low ratings like this show. Look at Secret Garden for instance. That show borrowed from both Alice in Wonderland and even Little Mermaid but it did quite well….It could be done but it’s still a mystery to why Manhole has such a low rating and it’s one of the most lowest rated Kdramas in the last twenty years…I just can’t wrap my head around that.

I sometimes wonder if I have poor taste or something. I just can’t help liking this show despite how horrible it is doing. I know I have to emphasize this constantly but I just don’t get it at all. I really hope it will pick up but I’m not gonna bank on it, otherwise I might be super disappointed.

Oh and also this show does remind me of Operational Proposal a little, which also  was a time slip/time travel drama which came out back in 2012 starring Yoo Seung Ho. I will still cheer this drama on no matter how bad it’s doing! GANBARE!!!
