Imaginary Cat Episode 5 : My Thoughts~

·

Boggil the Cat~

We are on episode 5 already and I hardly can believe it. I’ve been enjoying all the episodes they put out thus far and that will be the case for the next three episodes as well.

This particular episode had a lot of relationship stuff going on but that is not a surprise since I felt that it was gonna go that way from the beginning. Some of the characters get connected to each other in a romantic way in episode 5 and I found it kinda cute.

In this episode you will start getting the hint for a certain mystery surrounding the cat. The more Boggil gets acquainted to Na Woo you just can’t shake off this strange sensation.

Just like all the other episodes this one doesn’t disappoint as far as the interaction between Jong Hyun and his kitty. These two are so natural together and I can totally see why they picked Beetle to play Boggil.

I really enjoy Yuk Hae Gong, Jong Hyun’s friend. This guy is such a supportive friend. I said this in other reviews regarding this show and my stance on him is the same.

We don’t get to see Jong Hyun’s rival in this episode but he will show up again in episode 6, according to the preview.

Manager Ma is such a deviant man but depending on the situation he could be nice to Jong Hyun these days. Manager Ma used to be so cruel to our main boy but because of Na Woo’s cousin sister sometimes he is nice to Jong Hyun.

There is somewhat of a triangular relationship between Jong Hyun, Na Woo and the vet but they do it in a very moderate way. In a typical Korean drama, the formula usually revolves around the love triangle but in this show it’s not the focus really so it’s refreshing because of it.

I really love the ordinary look about Jong Hyun and Na Woo. In so many of the Korean dramas I have watched over the years, the characters could look so overdone that I have a hard time relating to them. However, the two main people in the show wear the kind of clothes that I wear and also the people around me have on. Na Woo dresses like me and that’s pretty cool. Most of the female Korean drama characters have clothes on that look super extravagant and what not.

I remember complaining about Jo Hye Jung even before the show began. Also, after watching two episodes I wasn’t quite happy with her acting chops but I think she’s getting better and better as the episodes progress. Getting into this show I was just interested in Yoo Seung Ho and the cat, nothing else. Now, it’s different. I love all the characters. I even enjoy watching the editor woman: Dokgo PD. I like her because she is kinda silly, but in a cute way.

This show is quite enjoyable to watch but I feel like the end is unavoidable. We only have three episodes left and I already feel like they are wrapping it up. The end is drawing near it seems. The cliff hanger made me a little sad but I knew that something dramatic was gonna happen. Where it left off, I am curious to see the next episode right about now.

As usual, Yoo Seung Ho delivers on his acting chops. He is so good. I am not coming from a fangirl perspective, so I am not being biased about it. I think this guy is the real deal. We have so many Korean male actors that are handsome but cannot act as well as this dude.

One last thing. This show really makes you think about animals and how to not only take care of them in a proper manner but also appreciate them. The bad neighbor man appeared again in this particular episode and he was being mean to stray cats, this broke my heart. This episode 5 reminded me again that we should try to care for these poor strays instead of attacking it violently.

I am a cat owner and an animal lover so I take these matters pretty seriously and this is why I could relate to this show so much. I really want to see the rest of the upcoming episodes and I can’t wait. I guess I will rewatch the 5 episodes that are out and ponder over and such.
