My little thoughts on Imaginary Cat Episode 2~

·

Imaginary cat is so cute~

I love the show so far. I really like watching the daily life of a webtoon writer. He goes to his regular part time job at the bookstore and his manager giving him a hard time. Talking about the bookstore manager, I think he micromanages Jong Hyun (Seung Ho). Manager Ma seems to be constantly walking around spying and monitoring his every move while being on the clock.

We also get to see a little bit about his past and what got him to adore Boggil the cat so much, there is a very important reason behind this but of course I am not gonna spoil the experience for you. Speaking of Boggil the cat, I love the way she likes getting the attention of Jong Hyun despite how arrogant she could be, but that’s just the way kitties operate.

The main thing I like about this show is the interaction between Hyun Jong Hyun and the cat. Their interaction is almost human like or maybe even more human like since the main guy can deal with this cute tubby orange cat than another person for the most part. I love the way Boggil gets jealous from time to time and when he is not around she seems to miss him and stuff. Boggil is almost like a girlfriend to Jong Hyun and I find that kind of adorable. Who says that a love story always has to be between a man and a woman?

Jong Hyun has a close friend that he meets every so often and he is also a webtoon artist too and this friend tries to put some sense into Jong Hyun when it comes to his work and love life. There are some things that Jong Hyun needs to get over before pushing forward completely and perhaps his friend and Boggil could help him do so.

The Pd name Dogko seems to favor him despite his work not being up to par as far as company’s standards but I guess she likes Jong Hyun for his unique personality since he could be a bit stubborn when it comes to his work.

Last but not least I will talk about the main girl, the love interest of Hyun Jong Hyun. I initially did have some concerns about the love interest and with my viewing of the first episode that took my worries away, because I thought her chemistry with Yoo Seung Ho wasn’t bad at all. However, I would like to change my mind on this. I don’t know, the whole time I was watching her with Seung Ho, I didn’t feel anything. I felt very awkward with her acting. She tries to come off cute but her trying too hard just negates it.

The only time I felt anything with Seung Ho’s love interest was in Operational Proposal with Park Eun Bin and with Go Ah Sung in Master of Study but with this girl named Jo Hye Jung in Imaginary Cat, something didn’t feel right. I think my main problem with Jo Hye Jung is the fact that she can’t act very well. To make the matters worse, Seung Ho is such a good actor that he would make a decent actor look mediocre. Jo Hye Jung looked like she was trying too hard, it didn’t feel natural.

Now I am curious about the actual webtoon because maybe the female lead was written that way originally and Jo Hye Jung was acting just like how it was written. However, I have a hunch that the main girl character in the comics was written better and the main actress just couldn’t  seem to deliver the way her character was written?

So far I like everything about this show except for the female lead. The ironic thing about it is, Oh Na Woo isn’t badly written, it’s just the lack of performance on Jo Hye Jung’s end and that is all.

Yoo Seung Ho is an eye candy and so is Boggil. Seung Ho looks so good in regular dude’s clothing because he seems very relateable since most dudes around me dress like that. Seung Ho looks good in anything since he is such a handsome guy but I prefer him in regular casual men’s clothing than them expensive and flashy clothes that I used to see him in other dramas.

Seung Ho looks very cute while sitting down on his desk working on his drawings and stuff. Also, the way he talks to Boggil just melts my heart and hearing the kitty talk is so awesome too because she sounds so cute. However, Boggil doesn’t have a cute little baby kitten voice since she is supposed to be slightly older.

I am gonna try not to say too much since I want to save it for an overall review of the show once it’s completed. After the end of every episode I just wanna jot down my thoughts a little but that’s it. I am hoping the main female lead won’t make the drama drag on since otherwise it’s a wonderfully made show and I have a good feeling that it’s gonna go that way.
